We had dinner there last night after attending a matinée at the Ogunquit Playhouse and it was very disappointing ~I ordered chicken caprese and it was terrible, luke warm, no taste, the mashed potatoes looked gray, were not warm and also tasteless~our waiter was pleasant enough but when he came back to the table, he saw that I hadn’t eaten much, just took the plate away but never asked how everything was and also didn’t ask if I wanted a take out container(which, of course I did not) The bill came to $ 75.00, which was extremely high for the quality of the food served. I will never go back and will not recommend it to anyone else.

Bintliff’s has amazing buttermilk pancakes, Crème Brûlée French toast, a variety of egg styles, and all of the toast is homemade. Our server was very attentive. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and comfortable. I rated this 4 out of 5 stars because my personal preference would have a more light and airy feel to it.

All our friends rave about this place so we had to try it. All i can say is GOTHERE ! We had dinner there on a Friday night and it was delish, fresh and presented nice. Our waiter was really nice. We had drinks, soup, meals and everything was perfect. The staff is very accommodating and on top of their game. The atmosphere is unique, beautifully decorated and wonderful dining rooms and great bar when you first walk in. We returned the day of our departure for their brunch. all I can say is DON’T MISSIT ! Wonderful options and so delicious. Great for Vegetarians and food allergy people too. Great bloody marys!

Two stars just because the bacon was delicious. Other than that we will not be back. My husband ordered breakfast, 2 eggs over medium, bacon, hash browns and toast. I ordered 2 eggs over medium with a side of bacon. Both breakfasts had raw undercooked eggs. They took my plate because it was just eggs and left my husbands saying they will bring new eggs. The waitress left and came back with a plate and scraped my husbands raw eggs off his plate and left the hash browns bacon and toast. She said«we don’t want to take ALL your food away».(Yeah…let’s let you eat it in segments instead or cold if you like to have a bite of each together). They should have taken BOTH plates and brought out hot food that was cooked together and correctly. By the time they brought the new over cooked eggs out(quite a long time after… no big rush) we had eaten our fill of hash browns and bacon. Not a good experience at all.

Not good at all!!! We ordered ice water and recieved water with no ice. My wife asked for for banana and chocolate chip pancakes and was told they were too busy to do that, even though they have them both on the menu as seperate items and the place was half empty. The roll on my burger was cold like it just came out of the fridge. Would have complained but never saw the waitress again until she brought the bill. Avoid this place! You can do much better elsewhere

My boyfriend and I had an interactive dinner there that came with a special package for our stay down at the Meadowmere Resort. We had a cozy booth, a wonderful waitress, and chatting with the chef was a treat. We started with the crab cakes and prosciutto wrapped asparagus appetizers, which were phenomenal! My boyfriend had the steak Diane and said it was one of the best things he has ever eaten. We even got to know how the sauce was made when the chef came by. I enjoyed the salmon topped with a delicious dill sauce. Everything was wonderful! The espresso martini was something else!

I enjoyed the atmosphere here. It was neat to see photos of all the actors that have stopped in while working at the nearby playhouse. As for the breakfast, i had french toast and a bloody mary. The drink was ten as was the french toast. Two slices of french toast for $ 9.95. Thats 3 loaves of bread! Overall id go back for its quirky vacation like ambience.

Amazing place for lunch. We enjoyed the elaborate interior, tall leather style booths and soft Italian music playing. Our lunch was incredible. My wife’s French onion soup was the best we’ve ever had, and that’s quite an accomplishment. The open faced corned beef sandwiches were delicious. It was a large portion of tender flavorful beef smothered in cheese and dressing on a hefty piece of toast. The salad was a very nice compliment. The served a late brunch as well that looked very appetizing. Would definitely return, maybe for breakfast next time. Highly recommend.

Not only did we have a great brunch for my wife’s surprise birthday beunch the owner was nice enough to combine my 4 $ 25 coupons into 1 $ 100 coupon because has no customer service on weekends and left me hanging! Great corned beef hash, bloody marys and good service. Thanks Bintliffs!

We had a very good brunch here in August! Friendly waitress. Nice atmosphere. A bit pricy but good food. Quite busy since it was summertime and tourist season still but we did not have to wait for a table. The hash was homemade and more just brisket than mixed up hash but no complaints about that. The Crème brûlée French toast was rich and delicious. The Belgian Waffle was near perfection. but it would have been nice to have Maple Syrup rather than corn(fake maple) syrup to top it off.

My fiancée and I went here for breakfast on the last day of our vacation as a treat. It’s conveniently located right across from our hotel just outside of town. The waitress was very sweet, but not smothering. I had hot chocolate and banana and nut pancakes. My fiancée had the eggs florentine. He reported they«were the best eggs he had ever had!» Food was great, prices were great, service was great! We’ll be back!

Great spot for breakfast. Never had dinner here but I have heard it is also good. Very large menu, average prices. Food is very good. Staff is polite as well. It can get busy so go early.

Bintliff’s is a comfortable time warp. All the things your family sold when your grandmother passed away have found a home in this slightly eccentric bar/restaurant/cavern of culinary retro. With a menu that includes steak Diane, roast duck in berry sauce and beef Wellington, it makes you nostalgic for childhood. The whole thing screams winter rather than summer, but it’s entertaining. The drinks are well made so kudos to the bartender. The food is decent. Duck was good, the sauce not so much. Fortunately we ordered it on the side. The lamb chops were overwhelmed by a sharp mustard taste(almost as if it had been added after cooking instead of before, which it hadn’t) and didn’t have much rich lamb flavor, but they were cooked to medium rare as ordered and the texture was perfect. The steak Diane screamed Mad Men. Alas, it would have benefited from a whiskey on the side. Still, it was a fun, odd dining experience and we had a good time.

The restaurant sits just a little outside of the downtown area. The interior needs an update. and the menu doesn“t have many traditional New England Seafood options outside of a Baked Haddock dish. The Crab Cakes were some of tbe best I’ve had and my aunt agreed. The menu does have a few Lighter Fare items, one of the better one is a Grilled Hangar Steak served with either a side salad or Homemade Sweet Potatoe Chips for $ 14.00. Came for seafood but was very happy with the choice.

So just to start off I only give four stars because I’m saving five stars for the best place ever. While this is not the best place ever it would be in my favorite list. First the staff, we sat at the bar and it was clear within thirty seconds the bartender was the owner. The service was super quick and he was one of the best servers that have ever served us. Now for the drinks my girlfriend got the signature bloody and it was incredible I got the extreme blood Mary and it was the best one I have ever had in my life and I’m 43 so that’s a long time. Now for the food, girlfriend got a omelet which was delicious, for me I like to try something no one else has, so I had spicy Korean garlic chili scrambled and omg best thing I ate this year. If you like bloodies and really good food you need to stop in here one day.

A couple of years ago I wrote a 5 star review about how great this place was. The food and the friendly wait staff were wonderful. Unfortunately I think it’s taken a turn for the worst but I hope that this feedback will help get it back to greatness. This morning I went with friends for a party of 8. Off the bat I was noticing the dust bunnies that have accumulated on the ceiling tile. Felt kinda gross to have to look at that. But that’s a couple of hours with a feather duster before opening could fix that. The eggs Benedict had a solid cooked yoke. Call me crazy but I thought the yoke should be a little runny for benedict. I was a little put off by the waitress coming to the table and just putting the food in front of the closest person to her and had to be passed around to the correct person. Is this a diner? But I guess what irked me the most was that I had to get up to go find my waitress to please refill the glasses with water. Then seemed annoyed that I interrupted whatever she was doing. Not sure that I’d go back again.

If you’re only in Maine for a short time, you should eat seafood, but if you live in Maine, or heaven forbid, don’t like seafood, and you find yourself at Bintiliff’s, the ribs are really good. They’re meaty, cooked well, and the sauce is quite delicious. One of my friends raved about her filet, and another friend liked the duck. You might want to stay away from the lamb though. Two of my friends didn’t care for the crust or the sauce.

This place is a gem! We went back 3 times in one weekend. Everything we ordered was amazing! Try Lobster eggs benedict and Crème brûlée French toast. Also, try beef wellington for dinner.

It’s been a few years since my last visit to Bintliff’s and my first visit for dinner. This was a major disappointment. The three of us all ordered the rib eye steak. When delivered all three were wrong. The medium rare steaks were both well done and the medium was rare. I swapped my well with the rare across the table. But the steak was well done on one end with piece of rare around the gristle, all the steaks were very thin. My wife sent hers back twice then gave up and switched to mussels that were very good, that was about 15 minutes after we’d finished our meals. With the steaks were well prepared veggies and potatoes but they were very cold when they arrived at the table. The service was perfunctory and nothing was done to make up for the repeated mistakes and miserable meals. Might still be good for breakfast but I’ll never go again for dinner.

This review is based on dinner. Brunch will be done on another visit. There are 2 factors that prevents Bintliff’s getting a 5 star rating. My partner and I had dinner here last night(3÷28÷15). First of all, parking is a plus. Plenty enough for in season. Inside, décor is eclectic, in a good way. So far, 2 pluses. We had Missy as our server. She was courteous and polite. A very good experience throughout the meal. Add another plus. We ordered a bottle of wine. Low 20s, good deal for dinner. Also, received a complimentary basket of bread. Tasty but came with butter.(Why, no olive oil and parm cheese dip? So much better for taste. Add fresh garlic to oil, even better.) We both ordered the same dishes for the whole meal. GRATINEEOFFRENCHONIONSOUP $ 9(3.5÷5) Overpriced for mediocre taste, in our opinion. PANFRIEDGOATCHEESESALAD $ 10(2⁄5) Both salads had charred Brussels sprouts and a burnt disc of goat cheese. Only a few pieces of pear were present. A bit disappointing. GRILLEDRIBEYE $ 27(4⁄5) Both steaks were cooked & served well. Tasty too. Lots of caramelized onions and cheese. Mixed reviews on accompanying sides. Mine were cold. His were lukewarm. Non were memorable to recall. The 2 factors are: Overpriced for so-so or okay food, just being honest. They messed up the salads, unacceptable dish. We only dined here for the certificate. It’s a great deal. Would come back with same deal.
