Had breakfast here twice while visiting this past week. I was craving pumpkin pancakes and looked up restaurants that might make them. This had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try. Wednesday when I asked about pumpkin pancakes they were not making them that day, but she went right into the kitchen to see if maybe Thursday they would. Sure enough they would have pumpkin pancakes. Tried the blueberry pancakes. Out of this world. Thursday we came back and sure enough… Pumpkin pancakes. They were wonderful. I made sure they told the chef how much I appreciated the wonderful treatment. Can’t wait to come back next September.

Not great. Service was slow and not super friendly. My sausage arrived cold and my boyfriends Eggs Benedict had an untoasted english muffin and uncooked raw spinach.

A staple of breakfast in the Ogunquit area. Decent food, kinda cramped, busy place. Staff is fairly attentive but when it’s busy they run around, nothing bad, just a fact of life at The Egg & I. Pricing is fairly average compared to other places in town. We go every year and will continue to do so.

Very solid breakfast joint. All good is fresh and they move the line quickly(they is always a line). Longest wait has been 15 minutes, even with a party of seven. Remember that this place is cash only. Very kid friendly and the staff is very friendly and efficient.

Heard a lot about this place, never been. Finally went for breakfast on vacation. Food was good/average. Service great, place is clean and quick. They don’t take credit or debit cards, so bring cash.

Been coming here for decades and I’m never disappointed. This time I had the bob’s special omelette and it was great. The homemade corned beef hash is incredible and the omelette was heavy and satisfying. Also had the double blueberry pancakes and they were fluffy and delicious. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. Even when there is a long line, the wait isn’t usually too bad because they can turn tables around pretty quick. An Ogunquit breakfast institution, just as the Ogunquit Lobster Pound across the street is THE place for lobster and steamers in town. Highly recommend.

This place is always crowded but they do a good job of moving people through. It is cash only so be prepared. I’d give the food a 3 and the staff a 5. Hash was good but the home fries were mushy. We got a ½ cantaloupe which was fresh and good. Our waitress was timely and friendly even though it was very busy.

Me and my girlfriend were there around 10 am on 6÷18÷15. We saw it driving by while looking for a place to eat breakfast and it just caught our eye since we like little diners. The coffee was very good and the raspberry amaretto french toast I ordered was very good and the breakfast sampler my gf ordered was very good as well. I did not like the bacon as I feel like it had no flavor. Our waitress also seemed like she was not in a good mood and didn’t want to talk to us anymore then she had too. All in all if we are back in that area we will be going back.

On the weekend and anywhere outside of LI, I yearn for that diner experience. It’s a LI way of living. I mean, you can’t drive 5 minutes without passing by a town diner. All I need are solid egg/pancake options, juice and a bottomless cup of coffee. That being said, on the last day of my Maine trip I wanted to have a hearty breakfast before I hit the road. The Egg & I is a cute spot that the locals flock to. It’s located right off the main road, so you can’t miss it. Inside, the vibe is super casual and relaxed. The service was friendly and quick even though it was pretty busy(for a Wednesday morning too). I perused the menu and saw the staples like waffles and pancakes but with a Maine touch. Blueberry options in everything, which I loved. But in the end, I decided on a build your own omelette with green peppers, onions, broccoli, spinach and cheddar. Came with hash browns which were good as well. It was very filling and a perfect start to my day. If you’re looking for a casual breakfast/brunch joint, stop here!

Best breakfast around — hands down! They have an awesome selection, cozy atmosphere and of course the food — speaks for itself. They even have scratch made corned beef hash(which I am very picky about) that was to die for! We are locals and sad that they are only open seasonally because we return as often as we can!

It’s a good restaurant, nothing above average. The food and service were both good, but somewhat bland. Apart from a creative name and hometown feel it tends to blend in a little with most of the Waffle House style restaurants that scatter highways everywhere. The cash only expectation is annoying in a place where tourists frequent. It’s not quite«dive» or «ma and pa» enough for the inconvenience. If you’re looking for a quick, consistent, and affordable breakfast spot this place is exactly what you want. But understand what it is before you drop by or you’ll definitely be disappointed. And don’t forget some cash!

I have seen this restaurant every time I have gone to Ogunquit but never tried it before this past Memorial Day weekend. A short wait at the door but we were seated fairly quickly. They have a very extensive breakfast menu so everyone’s cravings can be met. I had their special Lemon Cream filled French Toast and my friend had the Eggs Benedict with their homemade hash. Both exceptionally good(it’s really hard to find good hash) with huge portions. We could only eat half but had the rest for breakfast the next morning. Our waitress was also extremely friendly and attentive. The only thing you need to know ahead of time is they only take cash. I can’t wait to go back the next time I’m there.

My first Unilocal post. Had to take the time to share how delicious the Bob’s Benedict(with his own hash) was.

One of the best brunch I ever had. The best part of the brunch is having Amanda’s special Blueberry muffin. Muffin was freshly baked and filled with vanilla ice cream and blueberry preserves. It was utterly delicious and melted in the mouth. I never had such a delicious muffin.

I’ve been here before, this visit wasn’t as good as the first one though. The coffee was bad. But the food was good. Service was good, she was attentive.

The cute little name of this breakfast establishment appealed to us as we cruised along Route 1 in hopes of satisfying our craving for bacon and eggs. It is your typical breakfast place with paper placemats and upside down coffee mugs on each table. Very low key and casual, but exactly what we wanted. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. Our food came out quickly and hit the spot. Good food, but nothing special. My scrambled eggs tasted better than they looked, but I wished my bacon was a little more crispy. This restaurant is cash only which can be somewhat of an inconvenience. There is an ATM as you enter, but it is oddly positioned very close to a table. It puts you in an awkward position of feeling as though you should converse with the people at the table while you make your withdrawal. Of course that ATM withdrawal comes with a service charge of almost $ 3.00 as well so beware. Decent, but probably would not be rushing back especially with so many other nearby breakfast options.

Very disappointing, not worth the hype. It’s pretty much a cash only tourist trap. And you would think that since their saving on credit fees by being cash only that the prices would be low, well guess again, be prepared to pay a lot more than other breakfast places in the near by area. We figured we would have saved about $ 10.00 if we had ordered the same thing somewhere else. Coffee was lousy and waitress seemed to have an attitude because my wife needed another minute to decide what she wanted. She ended up getting pan cakes which was a little greasy and over cooked. I got a ham cheese omelette which was nothing fancy. Over all we were very dissatisfied. Save your money and enjoy breakfast somewhere else.

Great diner-style breakfast with options galore! The Egg & I offers a incredible number of options for eggs, omelets, waffles, pancakes, and french toast. No matter what your craving, there is a great option for you here. My wife and I stopped by on a Sunday morning for breakfast during peak season. As long as you get in before 10AM or so, there is no wait. My wife got the eggs benedict with home made corned beef hash. Great seasoning with parsley, onions, salt, on big english muffins and topped with perfectly poached eggs. You get a big serving that sets you up for a productive day. I had the waffle which was large and topped with strawberry sauce. It was sweet and slightly salty. Just perfect. Overall, Egg & I is a must stop for breakfast when in the area.

Usually make 3 – 4 trips to the Egg and I restaurant while I’m on vacation in Maine. The breakfast and lunch is outstanding, all homemade, usually I order either for breakfast i’ll have Eggs Florentine, Berry pancakes, or Two Eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes. For lunch I’ll either have the homemade chicken salad club or the soup of the day. Meals always taste great, lots of choices on the menu such as omelets, french toast, pancakes, eggs benidict, oatmeal, tuna, chicken salad, soup, burgers reubans. Service is always excellent, staff is very tentive and do check backs to make sure everybodys happy with there meal. the restaurant only excepts cash, but there is an ATM machine located inside the restaurant. Food prices are very resonable to as well.
