The best thing about this place was the deck we sat on right on the beach. Service was good very attentive. The food was average nothing to exciting or cutting edge. Normal fast foodish fried stuff few classic salads ect. But just sitting on that deck having a drink and enjoying the sea breeze was pretty awesome! Great spot to have a few drinks and a couple of apps.

DONOTGOHEREFORBREAKFAST!!! This was by far the absolute worst place I’ve ever gone to for breakfast in my entire life. The spinach omelette that I had with cheddar cheese tasted like metal and my stomach hurts now even as I write this review. My husbands hash was barely cooked and obviously straight from the can. The coffee was also cold!!! The waitresses were unable to refrain from making negative comments about every single person that sat down. It was awful. The view was lovely and I would totally recommend a glass of iced water. That’s it. Drive the extra two minutes down the street and there seem to be some other super popular restaurant with patrons happily waiting outside for their turn. This place was waterfront and they had tons of open tables… That should have been our first red flag. Hope this review helps

Went there this past Saturday, we went to check out the breakfast, we got seated right away, the host was great, she got us coffee quickly and said the waitress would be right over. Ten minutes later she came over and took our order. Forty minutes later still no breakfast, waitress explained that another table ordered pancakes and it took up all the room on the grill, ten minutes later still no breakfast so we got up and walked out. Don’t go for breakfast, hopefully the other breakfast place which had a fire will be up and running

Ok I know it was the forth of July & it was a beautiful weekend. But we were told by the hostess that they didn’t have a Enough staff & there was a 45 minute wait. Really??? Food was ok. Basic overpriced beach food. Lobster rolls, hamburgers, hot dogs, salads.

Had lunch here on my honeymoon while spending a day at the beach. I will say the fries were great, but the service was not. We were rushed and felt like the waitress had no time for us.

It’s a deck bar with food on the beach. Parents sat on the deck, kids played on the beach within eyesight. Service was great and the food is fine. Beer was cold and the mixed drinks hit the spot. What more could you ask for? My favorite spot in Ogunquit so far.

Wow … we have walked by this place so many times without stopping because it looked like a tourist trap. Usually places that sell soft serve in one window and have plastic tables and chairs with sit down service on the other side aren’t worth the gamble. However, one sunny day we wanted to sit and people watch ON the beach and decided to grab lunch here instead. The view from the tables against the rail is great … you can see the waves and the sand and watch the people walking onto the beach, which is great entertainment. The food was actually damn good! I was surprised. I ordered fried clams and the girl had a salad with salmon. While it wasn’t the best fried clam dinner I have ever had … I have to admit that I enjoyed it and the prices were very, very reasonable.(as in, one of the cheaper places we went to in Ogunquit) The drinks were a bit weak. We had Pina Coladas and after the second one realized that we could keep going at $ 10 a pop and not catch a buzz after 3 or 4. Also, the drinks weren’t frozen … it’s weird to drink a Pina Colada on the beach and have it be lukewarm mix with a few ice cubes in it. My girl has a food allergy, though and the waitress couldn’t be more helpful in making sure that her meal was not contaminated. Honestly, this was a place we just spur of the moment decided to stop into and it ended up being one of the most fun meals of our trip. It’s kind of ‘Jersey Shore-ish’ in a blue collar sort of way … but the casual no-frills atmosphere was fine because it is the only restaurant almost ON the beach. The only thing that would make it better is if it wasn’t so dark inside … even sitting right against the rail, it felt like eating in a garage. Still … you won’t find a better people watching place than this. The waitstaff is overworked but capable and the food is good and the prices can’t be beat for a beach town.

We’ve vacationed in Ogunquit every September for many years. Every time we visit we eat lunch at Splash nearly every day. The food is not exceptional but it’s good and appropriate for the type of place this is. It’s served on paper plates. Mixed drinks are usually pretty good and they usually have some nice local beers on tap. What makes Splash so special is the service and location. The servers, particularly April and Candy(who remember us from year to year!) take such good care of us whenever we’re there that all seems right in the world. Seriously, this is how we want to feel when we’re on vacation! Sitting at the edge of the ocean, sipping on a nice drink and having some tasty food makes us happy. Could we get better food at one of the restaurants up on Route 1? Who cares? Splash isn’t cheap, though of course it depends on what you eat and drink. Somehow lunch always runs us $ 60-$ 80. But nobody said happiness was cheap. In fact I remember they said«money can’t buy happiness» which I don’t even think is true. I don’t know what Splash is like during the busy summer months and I don’t want to find out. That’s why we visit in September. :)

We have lunch at Splash every time we visit. I always get an extra spicy Bloody Mary and Lobster Roll. The food is not mind blowing… But the location/atmosphere and drinks are good. The staff is always friendly! And the sweet potato chips are amazing! Substitute them for fries– they rock!

I didn’t think there were any bad restaurants in town. I was wrong! The only reason this place gets a star is because there isn’t a no star option. I got the clams. They came out burned and tasted horrible. I couldn’t even finish them. Totally gross. My daughter got the hot dog. Half way through the meal she asked what the gray circle was on the bottom of her roll. It was a circle of mold larger than the size of a quarter. How do you serve something like this? Is the cook blind? Unacceptable! Nice view. OK service. Horrible food. Avoid this place if you can!

Although we did not come for a «proper meal», we did enjoy snacks and drinks directly on the beach, probably the best place to do so in Ogunquit. The server was awesome(her name is Catherine, ask for her by name). Considering everything, prices are very reasonable and quality is more than acceptable.

Blt: skimpy. Not mind blowing. But what can u expect from a Blt? Caesar salad: don’t bother. Chicken was precooked and cold. Loaded with Parmesan. Pfffffff. Salmon cilantro burger: pretty good. Fries here are actually pretty good. Basically over priced for mediocre food. They dot even give you a knife with ur food, just a fork.

Splash gets an A+ from me for their view on the deck and their drinks. However, the service my friends & I experienced this past weekend was absolutely terrible and the reason I’m only giving it 2 stars. We went to Splash for lunch last Saturday afternoon. We had to wait for about a half hour, which wasn’t a surprise since it was lunch time at a restaurant with a deck overlooking the beach. Walking through the main dining area and onto the deck, I wondered why the wait was so long. The inside was pretty much empty, and the deck had about five open tables. Once we were seated, we waited patiently for about 20 minutes for someone to come take our drink orders. Again, this wait was odd to me since there were so many open tables on the deck. Finally, my friend went to notify the hostess we hadn’t been helped yet. The waitress made her way over, barely mumbled an apology and took our drink orders. We asked for a round of waters, along with some cocktails. Our cocktails came another 15 minutes later with no waters. When the waitress took our lunch orders, we asked again for a round of waters which never came. It took about 20 minutes for our lunch to come out and when it did, we again asked for a round of waters and finally got them. I have to say I was underwhelmed with the food, which was a disappointment considering the long wait time. How long does it really take to fry fish? Two of us ordered the fish tacos which were a little on the dry side and had to add more tartar sauce. Another friend in our party ordered the clam cakes which were very good. Other friends ordered fried clams that were just so-so. Splash was very generous with the amount of fries they gave us, but the amount of seafood was skimpy. However, our drinks were very good. Three of us split a beach bucket Raspberry Popsicle Margarita and another friend got a Pina Colada that was tasty. After we finished, we waited another 15 – 20 minutes for the waitress to bring us the check. We were also really disappointed to find out we didn’t get to keep the beach bucket that our margarita came in. Anywhere else that has fun drinks like this in a unique container, you usually get to keep. I may consider giving Splash a second chance, given that the view on the deck is great and their drinks are delicious, but this experience definitely put a bad taste in my mouth.

Absolutely terrible experience. My friend and I just dined here and really enjoyed the first part of our meal — steamers, cocktails, and a great view. We had a sweet server, who was replaced by a wretched woman midmeal. Our new server copped an attitude from the start. When my friend ordered a second greyhound, she replied«we don’t have those.» A vodka and grapefruit was fine to order, however. My lobster roll had an overpowering bleach smell. I thought it was just in my head and tried to politely eat it, but my friend could smell it across the table. She asked the server to take it back to the kitchen and get me another. The server huffed off, and returned a few minutes later to throw my same bleach-reeking roll in front of me. She claimed the kitchen had all smelled it and not found anything wrong.(gross, how many noses were in my food?). My friend nicely suggested that maybe some bleach-based cleaning product might have gotten mixed in, and maybe they’d want to check that before serving it to anyone else. The server then stormed off and came back with the manager, who claimed that there were no bleach containing products on site. Umm, gross. My friend and I have both worked in restaurants for years, and I’d hate to see the condition of that kitchen with no bleach! The manager refused to comp the lobster roll because«nothing’s wrong.» Nice customer service. We mentioned the incident to my friend’s dad that night, who’s owned a lobster restaurant for thirty years, and he told us that lobster emits a bleachy smell when it’s gone bad. :vomits: (note: I wrote this review on 9÷3÷09 but apparently it never posted)

I headed over to Splash to grab lunch and enjoy the view, and it did not disappoint! I had a delicious lobster roll, one of the best in recent memory. There was a ton of lobster meat, with just a little mayo so you could really enjoy the meat. It was served on a toasted hot dog bun, just the way it should be! My awesome waiter, Jeff, also convinced me to try the Belfast Bay Lobster Ale and it was the perfect accompaniment. I highly recommend giving Splash a try.

There are so many good things about Splash. The location is prime. Right on the beach. I always have lunch here. Nicki, who bartends on Wed-Fri, is awesome and makes great drinks. Plus, she is really nice. Everything I ever ordered there was surprisingly REALLY good for just a little joint. Their tuna is great, very good lobster rolls. I like their Onion Rings, their Fish Sandwich, Steamers… and believe it or not, I had an awesome grilled ham & cheese there also. Not to be missed if you are spending the day on the beach and want a bite to eat or a cocktail!
