Delicious veggie burger! A little spicy(which I like) and so tasty. Rest of my family loved the regular burgers and fries.

Outstanding burger and fries here! The mustard grilled patties give the burger a unique and delicious taste, and the French fries were crisp and delicious. We got a slice of key lime pie for later — also great!

Love the burgers and fries. Quality at a reasonable price! Their simple menu allows them to focus. A few items done well. A great addition to the choices in Ojai.

Yum– we loved it! The HiHo was super tasty as were the fries and shake. The cherry soda was also great. We loved the setting and the service was fast and friendly. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in Ojai.

Supremely let down. At $ 7, the burger should be more than just a salty little flavorless slider. My neighbors there complained as well. One and done: will not return again.

Upscale fast food hamburger place. We had wagu burgers with organic produce and quality condiments, plus hand cut fries and soda drinks with cane sugar — all at a fair price and it’s organic. We all enjoyed the food and the ambiance.

*editing my review to reflect the owner reaching out to me to resolve the issue. he has let me know the traff has been trained to make this accommodation and definitely has shown he is trying to improve. Tried to order a hiho or classic burger with only one slice of cheese instead of two. Spoke to a manager and apparently this is impossible. Super frustrating and poor service. Even in and out will accommodate this simple request. The other wild thing about this is their sign clearly says ‘if you want us to leave something off your burger, please let us know.’ This is not the case and I would not go here if you need any modifications at all. We were also accidentally charged for more than we ordered as was the group in front of us and the refund process is complicated(won’t refund your card, cash only). They need better staff and policies!

Yes it is a little pricey which almost deterred me but I decided to give it a go. My first thought after biting into the burger was, «That’s why it cost $ 7»! It’s the juiciest, melt in your mouthiest burger I’ve ever had. I prefer a fancy burger with blue cheese, an aioli or pesto and avacdo so it’s a little plain but I don’t know if it needs anything more. It’s definitely worth a try! Very clean and friendly service!

Been here three times and it just doesn’t cut it. Not only is it overpriced but the food is mediocre — the most insulting combination a restaurant can manage. Hi-ho: Start serving lettuce /onion /tomato with your burgers. Stop charging $ 4 for a tiny basket of fries. Give us some more options for ingredients(mushrooms, avocado, this is Southern California) and lower the prices — especially on the veggie patty which needs work. The meat itself is edible but without these other elements this place is a big flop.

_____Amazing! ______ _The quality is on point. The Hi Ho burger is the way to go. _They have put so much thought into every detail. I was impressed. _They also have homemade pies, shakes, and they do frozen margaritas on the weekend. _The general manager is super sweet and you can tell he really cares about his customers. _Our daughter loved her grilled cheese and fries. _The soft drinks are all natural and made with real sugar. No artifical junk! Wow. _This place is way ahead of the game and they will definitely continue to succeed. _I wish they would franchise… i would definitely get on that! _We definitely will be back! Yum yum! Hi ho is the way to go ;) Hi ho hi ho. . Into my mouth you go. Lol. The burger was amazeballs. Had to make a song about it… ;)

This would be a five star review if the meal would have cost $ 15 instead of $ 30. But the prices and food are completely disconnected from what a similar spend gets you at The Habit; Dukes on Seaward in Ventura, or The Hook in Oxnard. The $ 7 veggie burger was akin to the the BK Veggie I would buy in an airport when there is no other choice for a veggie burger, and even with airport inflated prices HiHo still is more expensive. wtf.

Pretty solid 4 stars. Super cute burger joint located in the heart of Ojai’s downtown area. With the weather being so perfect & the outdoor seating area presenting such a beautiful backdrop view of the Ojai mountains, I decided to have a late lunch here today. Parking was easy, only because it was a during the week, in the middle of the day but I can see how this can easily get packed on the weekends because it’s a real limited parking lot. You order your food at a walk-up window counter and then they provide you with a buzzer for when your order is ready. The lady at the reg was super sweet as she provided recommendations on what to order since she was aware this was my first time visit. I was worried that the burger was going to be to much for me since the standard was double patties but she said they weren’t as big as I was expecting. Totally eatable burger was soon to be coming my way… I was torn between the Classic and the Hiho– seeing that their specialty burger came with mustard grilled patties? I’m already a «light mustard» kinda gal, so I was curious as to how this would taste. Maybe less than 10 minutes later my buzzer buzzed, and my Hiho experience began… The fries? Great, crispy crunch with okay flavor. Not too seasoned and not too oily. They are the skinny, straw fries that remind me of what you get at county fairs, but better. The French fries were pretty consistent throughout, meaning there wasn’t one that was crunchy, then soggy, then too salty… no. They were all of the same quality. The burger? Wow, I was truly surprised at the different flavors with each bite. The mustard between the patties was very minimal, whereyou almost can’t taste it. Of course it came with the normal burger veggie fixings, but the true highlight of the burger was this slow cooked onion jam and bread & butter pickles. These condiments added such a unique flavor that I’ve never tasted at any other burger place. One would easily compare this place to In&Out, The Habit, Five Guys, Fat Burger, etc… But I think it’s safe to say this place stands alone… Only downfall, which I have to agree with others on is, the price of the burgers are slightly steep. $ 7 for a burger, just the burger– fries and drink are separate?! That’s a little ridiculous, especially for a «fast food, walk-up place.» I’m glad I finally tried this place, now onto the next…

This is truly a great little burger place. It’s an interesting take on the«in-and-out» style. They’re trying to source as many clean ingredients as they can, which is nice. The beef is very high quality and the fountain drinks are delicious.(Not Coke or Pepsi, here) The one thing I can say negativity is that the price is very high. It’s about 15 bucks for a burger, fries and a drink. I understand that the ingredients are more expensive and whatnot but, man, it hurts the wallet every time. Anyway, check it out if you’re in the area and are willing to spend a few bucks and want some good burgers. Edit: oh yeah! You can get beers or margaritas and even wine!!! Okay edit over…

Great customer service fast and friendly. It’s a definite must try place.

I’ll start by admitting I don’t generally eat burgers. I am just not a fan of beef, but this says it’s Wagu beef which tends to be high quality and tender, with excellent marbling. I also wasn’t sure when I arrived at HiHo! if they served anything besides beef. They do have a vegetarian patty which you can switch your burger for, for $ 1 extra(which makes almost no sense to me since Wagu beef is crazy-expensive and vegetarian patties typically aren’t…) Fries, milk shakes, beer, craft sodas, salad in a jar. After reading the negative reviews about the fries I asked the woman behind the counter«How are your fries?» before ordering them. She said she loved them. I ordered them. I also got a small strawberry milkshake. Hamburger was good. I got mine without cheese so I can’t comment on that, but I really did like the hamburger. It was small, though not tiny and the fact that they’re all double patty made it seem very meaty for its size. 4 or 5 stars for this. Fries were disgusting. $ 4 for a small tray of fries that were dark brown and looked both burnt and soggy at the same time. they were not crisp despite their over-cooked look and I wondered if they’d been overcooked, then left to sit and soften under a heat lamp left too low. The fries were luke warm(gross). Also they had salt and black pepper on them and maybe one other spice? Garlic? I’m not sure. It was very minimal, but as a supertaster who hates pepper it was enough to ruin it for me even though it was probably so little normal folks wouldn’t even notice. Why bother then? Struggled through 4 fries and then took the rest home to feed to my pet rats(who loved them btw). Milk shake was thick and tasty but not very«strawberry». Came out looking white/cream with a little mild pink swirled on top. Not blended together and honestly even when I tried to stir it up I couldn’t taste the strawberry flavor. How could this go so wrong? Small interior dining area. Restrooms inside. Outside patio area. Whole place is clean and fresh with a vintage-modern(hipster??) atmosphere.(The table I sat down at had 4 small square marks on it from the previous diner’s laptop feet, or was it a typewriter?) I would recommend the burger and vanilla milk shakes but at this point the fries seem beyond hope and I’m not confident in their ability to make other foods well. Maybe in time they’ll figure it out… $ 17 for one person for lunch: hamburger, small milk shake, fries.

$ 14.51 for a burger, fries and and a soda. Fries that are $ 4.00, came out cold. The burger was good but too greasy. They offered me a bag so I can take the fries home to heat them up.
