Ended up going here twice in our two days in Ojai. Yummy apricot scones and blood orange –orange juice. Quick and convenient. Nice service!

Went here for Sunday morning breakfast per the recommendation of one of the vendors at the adorable farmer’s market. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the wait, prices, and portions. We arrived at 12:15 and there were two tables with groups of six people and two other couples at the restaurant. When we ordered, the workers told us they had just had a «big rush»(to deal with these tables) and there would be a long wait. I did not know this would mean 45 minutes for them to — after a reminder about our food — re-heat an overly priced and miniscule piece of quiche and toast a bagel. Everything was tasty, the staff was friendly enough, and the outdoor seating was cute but not worth the wait or price. I would only go back for a dessert that I could pick out and up myself.

Best breakfast sandwich in all the land! I’ve been waiting months to get back to Ojai and enjoy Knead again. Sure it is a bit pricey but like with anything, you get what you pay for — delicious and fresh ingredients. I typically go for the country roll with fried egg, spinach /arugula, and roasted tomatoes. Splurge on the $ 12 loaf of bread too, its worth it! Bring cash as they don’t accept credit

OK i’m sure this place is great and they make a lot of tasty food… but $ 12 for a loaf of bread! Are you kidding me?! We asked for it sliced, and turns out they don’t have a bread slicer. what sort of bakery does not have a slicer?! So they sliced it for us, perfectly into 12 thick slices, that’s a dollar a slice. what a f*cking bargain. Any self respecting frenchman would turn in his grave at this place for charging so much for one of life’s staples. I’m sure they have law’s in place in country’s like France to keep bread cheap for everyone! Sort it out.

Like Joey from Friends, I am obsessed with sandwiches — and this place makes one of the best I’ve ever had in my life! I ordered the breakfast sandwich and I was in heaven. It comes with prosciutto, arugula, tomato, cheese, and a fried egg in the middle of a ciabatta bun. I am drooling just thinking about it. The ciabatta bread is freshly made in their oven, the prosciutto is amazing quality, and the ingredients taste organic. They put a lemon salad dressing on the arugula that adds a nice hint to the sandwich. And the egg is drooling off of the bun. I highly recommend ordering this sandwich. I also ordered their cold pressed coffee that was delicious. It came in a cute little brown bottle and had a robust flavor to it. I sipped it all too quickly. The ambience of this place is so cute too. There is a quaint outdoor patio that allows you to eat outside while enjoying the sun. And the inside is so adorable with a display case of all their artisan baked goods and an oven where all the baking happens. The staff is super friendly and helpful in recommending what to order. If I lived in Ojai, I would come here every day.

It was so hard to choose! Walked into heaven, today was Granola day and the aroma made me want to eat everything! I settled on the breakfast sandwich: English muffin, egg, cheese, prosciutto, roasted tomatoes and arugula(as recommended). Divine. Got a pumpkin and caramel tort and lavender shortbread to go. All of it was well above«great» and suck a great surprise of a bakery in a small town. Family run — and it shows! This is a must-stop for every single day you are in Ojai.

Do me a kindness. If you wake up on a park bench in Ojai’s quaint plaza one morning and you find that A.) you’re hungry and B.) you’ve got $ 7.25 to spare: go ahead and swallow down one of Knead’s breakfast sandwiches with white Vermont cheddar. Heck, quaff a cup of joe while you’re at it. Other niceties: Nice owner, great outdoor seating and, yeah, great tasting baked goods.

This little bakery is tucked away at the far end of Ojai’s downtown area. The bakery itself is small with a few seats and tables inside, but the outdoor space oozes with charm. There’s a small canopy of trees that provides shade over the outdoor seating area. Already, I was enthralled with the space even before I ate. My friend and I shared the following items: –veggie house sandwich($ 13): Vermont white cheddar + roasted tomatoes on the Italian country roll. Served with mixed greens and a giant marinated artichoke heart. Who knew that a veggie sandwich could be so good? But it was. The cheddar and roasted tomatoes were warm and served on their house made Italian country roll. The roll was doughy and chewy. –artichoke prosciutto + manchego salad($ 13): mixed greens, prosciutto, manchego, marinated artichoke and house-made crackers. I’m generally whatevers about salads, but this salad was amazingly good. The combination of flavors — tartness from the artichoke combined with the salty prosciutto and manchego over a bed of mixed greens was absolutely, mind-blowingly good. My mouth waters just thinking about the salad. The prices were fair, if not a steal based on the artisanal quality of our lunch. If you find yourself in Ojai, do yourself a favor and come have breakfast/lunch here. The place closes early so make sure to catch them on time.

Knead is a bit… goofy. Expensive? Heck yes. Delicious? Heck yes. Ordered a custom cake for my MIL’s birthday, because she was going to be visiting us from Texas that day. We called a week in advance and ordered a chocolate cake they have on the website. They told us they«weren’t sure» if they were going to have enough chocolate cake batter to make the cake. Sure enough, we got it home, cut it open, and it was a marble cake. Guess a week isn’t enough notice? My parents just visited from NYC and my dad wanted a bagel. Went to knead and paid a RIDICULOUS price per bagel. Were they some of the best bagels I’ve ever had? Yes. But 8 bagels & cream cheese shouldn’t be $ 28. Unless they’re boiled in unicorn tears.

This is the most outrageous expensive place. I am a foodie. I seek out the artisan places. But I am not sure how this place stays in business. We ordered the granola, the serving was so small. The eggs were tiny and drenched in butter. They must get tourists like me who get trapped. But this will only happen once. Oh I forgot the baguette was $ 8. I was just in nyc and I don’t remember these prices. Will never be back.

I was so disappointed. The pastries all look great, a bit on the small side but they look nice. The woman behind the counter was nice. The breakfast sandwiches start at $ 7 and come with an egg and cheese. Add anything to the sandwiches and the price increases. $ 3 for prosciutto $ 2 spinich $ 2 extra eggs. So it’s $ 12 for a spinach prosciutto egg and cheese. No real value, the sandwich was just alright. They don’t have soy milk to go with the coffee. Who knows if the milk they have is organic or not. I didn’t ask. They take checks. Am I a spoiled San Franciscan? Maybe I am. I admit that I like things the way I like them, I just don’t like paying $ 12 for a sub par breakfast sandwich.

We stopped by Knead while staying in Ojai for the weekend, and it was the perfect spot to have a simple yet delicious breakfast. They have a cute area for outdoor seating with about 8 tables. As other Unilocalers noted, the prices are quite high, but the quality of their baked goods is excellent. My husband ordered the house sandwich which came with prosciutto, cheddar, roasted tomatoes, mixed greens, and cornichons(French pickles) on a freshly baked Italian country roll. Even though the sandwich was pretty«simple,» each ingredient in the sandwich was very very good so overall the sandwich was amazing. My husband and I agreed that it was one of the best sandwiches we’ve had. I wasn’t super hungry, so I got a freshly made whole grain English muffin with goat cheese. The English muffin had good body, and the goat cheese went well with it. We didn’t try any of the sweets but I am guessing they would be great as well!

YUM. This place has a great selection of pastries and artisanal sandwiches. My boyfriend and I stopped by here for lunch before going on a hike and were very satisfied. I ordered way to many pastries, but they all looked too good to try. Their bread for the sandwiches was also amazing. I loved the shop itself as well. So cute with a great little courtyard area. They had some great local foods and had very nice employees. T his seems like a place I would be a regular at if I lived in Ojai.

2nd stop for a personal food tour for my hubby & I in Ojai 2nd day. We ordered a breakfast sandwich and coffee to share. It’s not cheap! For a egg, cheese, prosciutto and spinach sandwich it was $ 11.25! Ouch! It was tasty but painful on the wallet. It’s a cute place for breakfast or snack. I liked the fresh bread and the warmth.

Favorite meal in Ojai! After spending most of our time at the resort and eating overpriced mediocre food, this place was a breath of fresh air. Had the freshest Proscuitto, Artichoke and Arugula salad with yummy crackers. Oh but the best thing was the chocolate Nutella croissant!

Found this incredible bakery on Unilocal and had breakfast here twice in one weekend! There are so many tempting pastries to choose from. The brioche breakfast sandwich was out of this world! The bread was so buttery and flaky! We had it with egg, cheddar, spinach, and prosciutto. We asked for it to be open faced and it was perfect. We sat outside and enjoyed the small town setting. We ended up coming back later in the day to try their oatmeal ice cream sandwich with homemade peach ice cream. It was simply divine! The peaches they use were from a local farm. A great local spot for a sandwich or a sweet treat in Ojai! It’s cash only.
