Very professional — needed 2 crowns (I went in with 2 cracked teeth.) Both her and the staff were great.

I have thought long and hard about posting something here, but here it is 4 years later and I am still suffering from my experience with Dr. Komura.
I was in need of a new dentist a few years back. I read the review for Dr. Komura and made an appt for a cleaning. When I went to the office I saw several people I knew and felt comforted by that. Unfortunately they ALL saw Dr. Harris, also in the same office. I had my cleaning, I even knew the dental hygenist and felt good about my choice for a new dentist!
Dr. Komura said I needed a crown on a back tooth and although it did not hurt, I trusted her and went ahead, paid CASH (I don’t have insurance) and had the process started. The temporary crown fit well, although I had to keep it on an extra week while Dr. Komura went to Hawaii. No problems with the temporary. When it was time to fit the gold crown, Dr Komura did NOT set it, but an assistant set the crown.
The following week I had pain and sensitivity on this tooth like never before (I have other crowns). The crown was fit too low, making my teeth hit causing pain and also exposing the nerve. I went back in and they adjusted the bite a little bit, but told me that the margin was fine. I continued to have problems with my bite and sensitivity and went back again.
At this point, rather than ensure that the crown was fitting properly, Dr. Komura tried to upsell me on a root canal. She also told me that my gums were receeding, I had gum disease and that my teeth were going to fall out and referred me to Dr. Wong. She urged me to go asap. By now my mouth was a mess, my bite was off and I was having so many problems it was absurd. By accident (fate?), prior to going to Dr Wong I discovered that Dr. Wong was Dr. Komura’s husband! She did not disclose this and the referral was merely a bogus way to drum up money for the family.
4 years later, my bite has been an ongoing problem due to the bad crown. My new dentist adjusted the bite as well as he could and the poor margin has now caused the edge of the crown to become sharp, as it is below the gum line.
My teeth have NOT fallen out, I did NOT need a root canal and I do NOT have gum disease as claimed by Dr Komura.
If only Dr. Komura would have offered to fix her mistake in the first place I would have been saved much pain and discomfort. Very poor dentistry and professional ethics in my opinion.

Dr. Komura is fantastic, the best dentist in the area by far, she is gentle, and very very very good. Her staff is exceeding professional and do great work. Highly recommended.
