The office is very nice! Friendly and nice receptionist. The nurse was friendly, funny and she made me relax a little bit. Dr. Dial opened the door with a sincere greeting she was full of energy, happy asked questions and reviewed my chart! She listened to me, she was not in a hurry and very very patient. At the end of my appointment a gal was ready to leave and I asked the receptionist where the lab was located. The gal leaving said I am going out I will show you where it is! Great doctor great staff!!! Five stars!!!

I have to say I am hesitant about giving this practice even one star but ½ a star is not an option. Furthermore, my time is far more valuable than having to write this lengthy review. However, I felt an urgency to let the people of this beautiful place, «The Ojai Valley», know. I have been a resident of Ojai for over 30 years. Growing up, Dr. Gross, Dial and Halverson were my doctors(not my choice). To be fair, Dr. Gross and Halverson, I feel are fair doctors with a genuine interest in helping people. My most recent experience with Dr. Dial is as follows. I checked my self into an urgent care in Ventura. When I arrived, I explained the urgent health issue I was having. I explained to the nurse that I needed immediate attention. The nurse then contacted my PCP, Dr. Dial, who told the nurse that she would like to see me immediately and that she has an appointment open. They denied my care at urgent care based on Dr. Dials request. I was forced to immediately drive from Ventura to Ojai in this condition to make this«appointment». Upon arrival I was told that I had a $ 40.00 co-pay balance. I handed my credit card over for payment to be made. The woman at the front desk then informed me that I did not have an appointment. I explained to her the situation and that this was Dr. Dial’s request. She then began to have a conversation with Dr. Dial through the side window. Dr. Dial told her to tell me that she has left the office for the day. I was then forced to go to the ER in Ojai to be seen. My care(which required immediate attention) was put off 5 hours and I was charged $ 100.00 for an ER visit. This is my first complaint, does anyone need to read on? There is a lot more to this story. Roughly 3 months prior to this incident I received a billing statement that said I owe the practice $ 80.00. I responded by sending them a letter asking them to re-adjust the balance to reflect my insurance. They demanded that I, once again, provide my insurance information, which they already had on file. I informed the front desk that I had already provided this info, but they denied it. I provided the information they requested again and received a bill for $ 40.00(the correct amount). I sent them a check with partial payment. One month later they sent me another bill with a $ 40.00 balance, however this time it was written in CAPITALLETTERS and threatening me with collections. I made a photo copy of the check(which had been cashed) and asked them to re-adjust the balance again to reflect the correct balance. Another month goes by and this time they really crossed the line. This time I received a bill that reflected my «correct» balance and attached to this bill was the bill of someone else in my household(not a dependent, not a spouse, we don’t even share the same insurance) with their balance. Hand written in red ink was a a balance of both invoices combined??? As though I am responsible now for her debt because we share the same address. I understand that mistakes happen. With that said, a mistake like this month after month after month is in my opinion harassment. Furthermore, sending someone else’s medical records to me and attaching/combining both bills is not only a HIPPA violation but it also borders on fraud in my opinion. If you don’t need added stress when you’re already ill, or trying to recover, DONOT go to Dr. Dial. You’re sure to leave more frustrated, possibly misdiagnosed, and overcharged repeatedly. You’ve been warned.

My family started with OVFMG after my now 26-year-old daughter was born and needed a well-baby checkup. We have had good experience with them all these years. The waiting time is reasonable – often no time at all – and the doctors and nurse practitioners are thoughtful and concerned about my well-being.

Agonizingly slow service. I can never understand why it’s okay for the providers to be 30 minutes late, without so much as an apology. The office seems to be time warped from 1955 when no one was in a hurry. My time is valuable, but only to me apparently. Drs and the FNP are pretty nice, but you’ll have to make it past the front desk and nurse grumpy first…
