I run marathons and stay very active. I am in the midst of training for another 26.2 and I am feeling myself being sluggish and lacking energy. My self diagnosis tells me I am carbohydrate depleted. I tend to stick to a low carb, veggie and fruit heavy diet with lean proteins like eggs and chicken. Apparently, this diet is leaving me apathetic and constantly tired. Therefore, I am trying to track all of my nutritional intake via a nutrition app. Today is my first day of doing this, and as expected, I am still carb deficient. However, I plan to make up for that this evening, so I am keeping it relatively paleo for lunch. Today, I chose a breakfast/lunch combo. Grilled sirloin with eggs, grits, hashbrowns, apples, and biscuits and gravy. After entering all of this in my app, it is mind boggling to me how people eat so much that they are morbidly obese. I constantly stuff my face full of food, healthy food albeit, but I barely meet the dietary requirements of someone my age, WITHOUTEXCERCISE! I stuff my face full of food all day and I am still only ingesting 3000 calories. I was appalled! I thought I was hovering somewhere around 5000! Which means, I need to eat more, and I was eating like Abdullah the Butcher before. This has nothing to do with Cracker Barrel, but more a peek into my life as a marathoner and food gorger. The food here was great! Everything was cooked perfectly. Medium rare steak, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy that were creamy and biscuity. Service was okay but the food arrival time was abysmal. I actually ate some of the pegs on that little solitaire game they have because I was so hungry. I am well on my way to my necessary 3500 calories! 3.5 stars.

I recommend eating here only if you have time. The service is very slow. My wife and I have eaten here twice now and both times have had a mediocre experience. The first time waited about ten minutes before I got up to asks for a server to take our drink order and then just simply slow service after that. Then my wife and I went yesterday and had a worse experience. It took about five minutes to put in a drink order and never got a refill for the rest of our visit(ridiculous). Then about five minutes after we ordered I was notified they were out of broccoli. Then when the food arrived my wife had the wrong gravy on her mashed potatoes. About half way through the meal we realized they forgot to bring us our biscuits. When we got them it was as if they had all been smashed. Finally, when getting ready to leave we asked for a box and our server forgot the box. We had to ask a manager to get a box for us. Any one of these issues is understandable but to compound them all into one visit is absolutely crazy!

breakfast 6÷6÷16. my country fried steak was over cooked and had a off flavor grade d, scrambled eggs with cheese were a+, hash browns were b+, white country gravy was b+, biscuits were b+, coffee b+. wife’s omelette was good but they charged her an extra $ 2.69 for 3 slices of tomato because she did not want the hash browns. food $ 25. country store $ 50. the lot is full most of the time so I guess not everybody is ordering country fried steak or sliced tomato. i might try it again because the last cracker barrel I ate at was way worse than this one.

This place is pretty much like all the other locations except for a few minor details. I personally think the Mac n cheese here is definitely lacking… Sometimes the hashbrown casserole as well… which is so unfortunate because those are two of my FAVORITE side dishes. On the bright side this location did introduce me to the chicken casserole thats offered every Weds & Im so thankful. I love it. They also can be pretty slow with to go orders but we continue to come because of the convenient location. Overall, if I’m craving some home cooked food for a really good price… this is my spot!

It’s Cracker Barrel they are always good they have great breakfast. They are nice and the service is good. Hard to go wrong when you are in the south and want breakfast. Almost as good as a NJ diner.

Very inhospitable welcome to Hilton Head. Unprofessional service. Was not busy as it was early in the morning around 7am. No southern hospitality here folks. Was also sick within 30 minutes after leaving the restaurant.

It was a Sunday morning so it was really crowded. They told us it would be a 15 minute wait– they say us in 10. Our waitress Jasmine came over to take our drink order right away. As busy as it was we had quick friendly service and our food was hot. All in all a great breakfast experience.

Unbelievably rude staff. To Go order took almost an hour. And to top it off, it was all cold and clearly had been sitting for awhile. But what can you expect when they are supervised by a manager that tells us we can drive back out at almost 10 at night to get new food.

Overall: awesome! The food was really good and we were stuffed upon leaving. Everything was cooked just right. The pancakes weren’t too mushy, the blueberries on the French toast was soo good. If you want a no frills breakfast then this Cracker Barrel is your place to eat.

Strawberry lemonade was refreshing on a steamy afternoon. The turkey and dressing were tasty, but not as piping hot as I would have liked it which is why they lost one star. Overall, the experience was good, I will return again in the future.

When compared to a lot of the other breakfast restaurants, Cracker Barrel really stands out. From the themed gift shop in the front of the restaurant to the inside a country log cabin décor in the dining area. It is a unique experience. The food they prepare is delicious. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner there are many choices and they are all great. The employees are always friendly and willing to go that extra mile. This particular location was no exception. It was a great experience from start to finish. Our waitress was extremely nice and made it seem like her life mission was to make sure we were content(and all her other tables as well). I would easily recommend this restaurant to someone looking for a good meal and great service.

I’ve eaten at plenty of restaurant chains that have mildly okay breakfast, and I usually don’t make a fuss about it; but this was just astoundingly bad. Our server was visually unhappy about serving us, and I understand it’s a hard job, but I still think that complaining to your guests that you’ve worked a whole four hours and that you’re tired is a bad idea. Especially when you forget to refill any drinks, when you vocally tell us that the reason we didn’t get any bread before the meals was that management trains you not to bring it unless asked(which we did ask), and then give us turkey sausage and turkey bacon. We just couldn’t understand why the sausage tasted just like how dog food smells, and then we realized that for some reason, we got the turkey substitutes. I unluckily got convinced to order the hashbrown casserole rather than the regular hashbrowns, so instead of getting a large order of decent hashbrowns, I got a tiny scoop of potato mush with cheese. It just tasted bad, the service was bad, and the wait time was almost forty minutes before our food was brought out. I would not eat here again unless I was just getting water. And even then they might bring out turkey water.

Nothing like a plate of old COLD food! The only thing good here was the service. I ordered the cheesy potatoes and a ground steak sirloin. I felt sick the entire day! Yuck! I think I would rather eat at Dennys and that makes me sad, Cracker Barrel is compromising quality

No different from all the other Cracker Barrels, and that is a good thing. Quality is always the same and you get a good deal for the money.

Food was good as usual. We got peach pancakes, yum, with whip cream. Service was quick. Everyone was polite. Our ordered was mixed up a little but they quickly solved it. The manager even came out a few times and asked if everything was taken care of and to our liking.

Three visits. Three times food cold. Today I sent food back because it was cold and it came back cold second time. Husband ordered cubed steak with gravy on side. Gravy was all over the steak and his sides were cold

We were in the state of SC for a wedding and needed to find a good place for breakfast after the activities. We all decided to go here since it was next door to the Hotel. It was a good decision but they couldn’t seat us all together since they were very crowded. There was 16 of us so it is kinda understanding but if we would of waited 20 more minutes, more tables opened up and we could of actually been together. Not good management if you ask me. However, we came here to eat and eat we did! I got the Country Boy breakfast with Ham and it was super delicious. There was so much food that I almost couldn’t finish it all. Ham, Eggs, grits, toast and fried apples. Our waitress was so nice too! She patiently took our order and explained what came with each meal. Everything came with very little wait time and our drinks were always full. If you happen to be in Bluffton, SC and want some good food with good service, this Cracker Barrel is the place to be! They even had a large store in front.

Three stars ONLY because the service was great. Burnt bacon, watery grits, cold congealed gravy, but the eggs were cooked perfectly. This was my first breakfast with them, I’ll not drive 16 miles to eat with them again. However on a road trip, since the family seems to love them, I’ll stop. My breakfast group didn’t care for the food either. Both said the lunch and dinner was good. Our breakfast was not so good. Again, great service. I just didn’t feel like a «recook» of our meal.

Love the homestyle, Southern cooking of Cracker Barrel. The mac-N-cheese is the best!
