I really wanted to like this place more than I did. The service was good, and the atmosphere was nice until a foursome of «I wish I was still hip» 40-somethings sat near us. The soup — squash or something, can’t remember — was really freaking good. The cheese plate was disappointing– a plate of thin slices, that for all I know could have come pre-sliced. I had a seafood dish, scallops and shrimp in a bland buttery sauce with peas and polenta that seriously tasted like a McDonald’s hashbrown. All in all, if this place was anywhere but Lansing, MI, it would have gotten 2 stars … but sometimes you have to settle for mediocre in a town like this!
