This is a quality place and might be the best I have found for Thai food in the metro. I have a great place I go to every time i am in Las Vegas that is spot on. The place is the closest I have found to it in OKC. I was searching for Tom Kha soup. That search pulled up very few options but this was one of them and was right around the corner. Nice quite place in a strip mall. Ordered the Tom Kha, Pineapple Rice and Yellow curry. I know you might be asking if this place is the best you have had here why the 4 stars. I think I am used to slightly bigger portions, slightly different quality(I hesitate to say better because this place will most likely be my new go to Thai place in OKC, so different is a much better word here), last but not least though not a lot different I am used to my Vegas prices which would be a 15% cheaper. Strange that it cost more in OKC. Might be the only thing that has ever happened to. Tom Kha — Coconut soup — Creamier than I used to. Lacked some of the flavor I am used to, but a lot more mushrooms than I have ever had. Still a really good Tom Kha. Though I would not order with chicken again since there was so little in it. Pineapple rice — I enjoyed this and it was very comparable to what I am used to. Yellow Curry — Once again very comparable to what I am used to. both the rice and curry seemed to be lacking a little seasoning but not enough to stop me from ordering them again. I am glad I have found a good Thai place in OKC.

Wow. If first impressions count(and they should), I just found a new go-to Thai restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed Panang 2, but I rarely venture that far north unless I’m being held hostage. Bistro 38 is well within my acceptable travel radius, and I’m so glad it is. The entire family made the trip for dinner. SO had an amazing Shrimp Pineapple Fried Rice that was full of flavor without being overbearing. Thing #1 ordered the Ginger Chicken, and got a fresh, filing dish that had zip without heat. Thing #2 got Pad Basil, which was a noodle dish with a big basil flavor. Yours truly indulged his curry passion with the Green Curry cranked up to full heat(5 on 1 – 5 heat scale). It got my attention, but it was amazingly delicious. The service was timely, the space was clean, and the staff was friendly without being overly familiar. The prices were more than fair; they could add 25% onto their entrée prices and I wouldn’t object. If Thai food is on your menu, get thee to Bistro 38 quick fast in a hurry.

Sometimes you need a quiet, off-grid, clean, friendly little Thai place to restore your calm. That’s when you go eat at Bistro 38. Tucked away in the corner of a shopping mall behind Leaf + Bean and Shimmers Snow Cone Stand, Bistro 38 is fairly off the radar. But for heavens’ sake, put it on yours! The food comes out of the kitchen hot, to order, and filled with fresh flavor. Expect classic Thai food. My favorite appetizer is the chicken satay. Soups are delicious, but light — Tom Kha and Tom Yum both. The massaman and jungle curries will warm and fill you up. You might have to call the fire department about that heat though… In my experience, the staff is very good about tempering the heat when the meal is ordered. A warning though: even a «0» level heat [when ordering for kids off the regular menu] has sometimes been more than nothing. The kids’ menu offers a small selection of fair portions that have always been just right. One of the most compelling things about this little restaurant is the kind, attentive service. Dining here always feels like I’m eating in someone’s home. Not because it’s overly decorated and soft; on the contrary, the space is just barely adorned(and super clean). Rather, the women working at Bistro 38 treat you as an honored guest. You’ll have to pop in and see what I mean!

3 of us get 3 of their noodles dish, all good but the lettuces wrap is the bomb I’d come back again and again just for that

I come here frequently with my coworkers for lunch. The service depends on the waitress. There is one waitress who is amazing. The other waitress is awful! We told her we were ready to order and she just walked off to refill other people’s drinks. The lunch special is really good. The pad Thai on the lunch special is not like regular pad Thai. It doesn’t have egg or any veggies. It’s just noodles and sauce. I like the lunch pad kee Mao.

I came here for lunch on a Friday. The place is small and can get fairly busy so I wouldn’t try to come here on a lunch break with a time crunch. I tried the Tom yum mushroom soup which was delicious! And the Pad Thai which was really good, not the best in the city, but still fulfills a craving for Thai with a positive dining experience. I would recommend this place to a friend.

This is a terrific Thai restaurant. Perhaps the best in OKC! I believe I have eaten in every Thai restaurant or café in Oklahoma County and this is at or near the top. I tried the edamame, the Tom Yum soup, the Pad Prik Khing, chicken Pad Thai, egg roll, Thai Iced Tea and for dessert… sticky rice with mango slices. Yum Yum! It was fresh and as well prepared as it gets. The service was outstanding.

Went Sunday afternoon, pleasant Brazilian music, décor is simple but clean, comfortable. Waiter was pleasant. Food — fantastic! I had jungle curry, lots of veggies, tofu in a red curry. Delicious! We liked the dish so much we ordered two more of the same dinner for lunch later in the week! This is my new favorite for Thai food in OKC!

Bistro 38 is a small, intimate, and you could say somewhat modern Thai restaurant that excels in quality, value, and service. The Unilocal reviews do justice to this hidden restaurant by the indoor Go Kart on May Ave. I tried the Massaman Curry and Pad Thai and both were exceptionally prepared and served

I loved my green curry fried rice but the pad Thai was the worst i have ever eaten! It tasted like under cooked noodles with sugar and siracha only. The music they play is very strange and loud as well.

Probably more like 3.5, but I didn’t like my curry as much as my buddy loved his Pad Thai. So if it were just me, I would say straight up 3, but as mentioned, my buddy loved the Pad Thai, so I guess we can meet in the middle and give a 4. This is a little place in the strip mall at 36th and May, next to the go-kart place. It was a small little place and there was no one in there at 7 pm on a Saturday night, but to be fair, I think it was OU’s first game of the year, sooo… Anyway, the place was small, and clean, but kind of lacked any true personality. The Chicken Satay app was just mediocre. The chicken was a little bland and just slightly rubbery. I don’t think I would have like it without the peanut sauce. The peanut sauce was pretty good. I have the yellow curry and found it to again be just mediocre. The potatoes were a little undercooked so they were a harder texture than I was expecting. There wasn’t really much chicken in it and the overall serving size wasn’t real great for the price. I didn’t feel cheated, but I also didn’t feel like I was getting a deal. That said, my buddy loved the Pad Thai and destroyed it in a matter of minutes. I didn’t try any, so I cant say, but he loved it. To sum up, Id say this place probably deserves a try if you live in the area, but probably isn’t worth driving across town for.

Place was excellent. Service was good from beginning to end. Had Pad Thai and yellow curry on the spicey side. Pricing was average but who cares if pay any big chain price for this food anyday. For Saturday night wasn’t really busy. Hopefully it picks up for them so they are still around in years to come

This place was absolutely amazing. Friendly fast service, nice casual environment, and yummy food! We had the jungle curry with shrimp. The curry was well spiced, the ingredients in it were fresh, and it was thick, hearty and served in a nice big bowl. Great portion sizes. We’re just passing through Oklahoma City and this was a bonus. We’ve tried curry in many states and this was definitely the best to date! Go here!

Lots of flavor packed into this little shop. Got their pad Thai lunch special, which is a great value and has left my mouth simmering with spice. A little light on the chicken, but they make up for it in the perfect blend of seasonings. I’ll have to come back to try their other specials soon.

I stopped by in the afternoon to try this place, I am do happy I did. I have the Entertainment Card which I keep forgetting to use. Very surprised by the quality of food they served. The service was awesome! I ordered the Tom Kha soup, the one with the coconut milk, other places don’t compare! This soup was very velvety and decadent, I was blown away! LOL. The Pad Thai with ½ tofu & chicken was better than any place I’ve tried. The only complaint which really isn’t valid is I wanted them to offer delivery service. RIGHT don’t you agree? The only thing we can get delivered is Pizza & Chinese Food. I will be back as this now is my Favorite place for Thai Food.

I’m happy! The bistro is small but the flavors are huge! We had the chicken satay with peanut sauce and cucumber salad. The chicken was grilled perfectly, the peanut sauce was yummy and the cucumber salad had the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. A great way to start our meal. The dishes are on a sliding heat scale 1 – 4. When I ordered my beef salad I was going to try a 4 but a customer mentioned«that’s hot!» I’m glad I listened! I got 3. The sauce was just right. Hot and spicy but flavorful and the right accompaniment to the salad. The pad Thai with shrimp was so comforting! I think the best I’ve had in years! If you are looking for a small delicious Thai restaurant go to Bistro 38. You’ll be happy too!

I am thoroughly impressed with this place! We ordered take out a few weeks ago, and really liked the food. My husband ordered the chicken Pad Thai and I had the Red Curry with tofu. They were both delicious! Tonight we decided to try the dine-in experience with our 2-year-old daughter. The restaurant is a small, clean and tastefully decorated with several tables. We had amazing service the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The waitress was not only attentive, but warm and extremely on task. I was impressed with her because the restaurant became busier through the course of our meal, and she was the only person manning all of the tables. She did an EXCELLENT job. My husband ordered the shrimp Pad Thai this time, and I had the Pad Basil with tofu. We also ordered the spring rolls and edamame, with an extra side of rice for my daughter. The waitress was so accommodating to my daughter – she brought her rice out in a princess kid’s bowl, and made sure she had a small plastic fork and cup with a lid and straw(without me asking). Restaurants that are extra kid-conscious always gets points with me. Each dish we had was excellent – and make note that the 4-star is very spicy! The only thing that I missed on the menu was fresh spring rolls, the fried ones were good, but I’m a fan of the others much more. But I really like how they offer their soup as vegetarian, and you can add meat, tofu or shrimp. We will definitely be returning to this little gem of a spot on a regular basis, it is a place that I want to see thrive and we definitely want to give them our business!

I’m really not sure why it has taken me so long to update my review from 7 months ago. I have been consistently eating at Bistro 38 since my first visit and I have not been disappointed once. In my opinion, no Thai restaurant that I’ve eaten at in OKC has better curry than Bistro 38. I crave it. It is the perfect amount of EVERYTHING. Their Pad Kee Mao is also delicious. Once again, one of my favorites in the OKC area. I am never in the area for their lunch special(M-F) but I think it’s a good option to have and it is very reasonable. I have not been incredibly impressed when ordering a lunch special combo because I’ve noticed the Pad Thai they serve with it is never very fresh. However, their Tom Yum mushroom soup is delicious! Another great thing about Bistro 38 is that they don’t use fish sauce in any of their dishes, which makes it so easy to order if you are vegetarian, and sometimes fish sauce(in my opinion) can be overwhelming. Not once have I come into this restaurant to sit down and eat with more than 2 other tables dining there but I have noticed that people come and go constantly with to-go orders, so hopefully that’s what is keeping them alive. It has probably proved disastrous to my health that this place is a block away from my home, but I don’t really care because it’s so delicious!

When we got there, we became the only customers. Which seemed mildly foreboding, but it’s in a small corner that doesn’t seem very frequented anyway. The woman who greeted us was friendly and helpful, too. Always a plus since service in small establishments can be spotty. Fried dumplings 5⁄5: The appetizer comes with 6 dumplings, and they’re delicious. It took a little over 10 minutes for them to come out and they tasted incredibly fresh. I wasn’t back in the kitchen or anything, but I’m willing to bet that they’re handmade. And the sauce it comes with(a sweet soy sauce? I dunno.) was excellent. Massaman curry 5⁄5: The two things I try at Thai places are pad Thai and massaman curry. I found this to be the best massaman that I’ve had so far. It was creamy and thick, but not too thick. I specified mild spice, because I’m a baby and it did have a very slight kick to it that I thought was exactly what I asked for. The potatoes were perfect: tender, not hard or mushy. Can’t go wrong with onions, and as an experiment, I got tofu instead of chicken or another meat. It is so easy to make bad tofu, but their’s was really good. ***Second visit*** Crab rangoon 3⁄5: I liked how they were presented; they were small and neatly put together. The outside was crispy and good, and the insides were decent. The crab mix was sweetish and packed in the bottom(see picture). Pad Thai(chicken) 3⁄5: The texture of the noodles were good, and they are a little wider than other places I’ve been to(not good or bad, but if you’re weird like me, you notice these things). You can specify how spicy you want it, and being who I am, I got a 1 out of 5(commence the judging), which was just mildly kickin’, so perhaps a 5 would sate some of the spicier folk. It’s not something I’d order again when there are better things on the menu, and better pad Thai elsewhere. Normally, I judge a place based on this dish because it’s the most simple and common, but I had the massaman curry and dumplings first, so I can easily look past unimpressive pad Thai. Yellow curry(4⁄5): Very good! Once again, I got hardly any spice, but it was just right for me. The coconut milk and spices make it both sweet and spicy, but not as sweet as massaman if that’s not your thing. ***Note*** When there is a Groupon, remember that it’s for dinner only — not lunch specials. On my second Groupon, I totally forgot and went for lunch, so looks like a third trip is in order to usethe Groupon! My gift to you, guys.
