I have used blo in the past and I can definitely tell it has gone down hill. It’s really unfortunate because it’s a beautiful salon with an ideal location. I got my hair & makeup done for a wedding that I was attending that afternoon. I had a hectic schedule ahead of me so I made sure to allow myself some leeway just in case something did not go as planned. Thank God I did! My makeup was TERRIBLE. Nothing like I had showed the«makeup artist». I use that term lightly because what was thrown on my face reminded me of what I saw Snooki wearing during her early days of Jersey Shore. I showed warm earth tones that were more on the matte side. Only one or two photos had any type of shimmer shadow in it. The shimmer was only on the lid. My whole eye was frosty and looked silver. When I told her that I was not happy and I expected warmer shadows she seemed annoyed & pointed out the two shadows she used. Okay? My eyeshadow was still cool toned, silver looking, and not what I wanted at all. What did she do to remedy her hour of work? Tossing some gold shadow on my lid to «warm it up». It looked champagne and it was still terrible. I was getting incredibly frustrated and made the decision to just say ok because I still had to get my hair done. The eyeshadow wasn’t my only problem. I also had patches where there wasn’t even foundation. Also if they use a mascara wand that is not disposable(which was my experience) and straight from the tube please say something!!! That is completely unsanitary!!! I’m incredibly lucky I didn’t get an eye infection. Oh let me add when I tried to take off the lashes that was applied with warm water & soap I lost lashes because she used so much glue. Seriously I could go on and on about just the makeup experience alone. Overall the experience was terrible and I only hope they get more strict on who they allow apply makeup. Hair experience was mediocre. They changed my stylist and gave me someone new. It was her first Saturday by herself. I felt terrible for the girl because I could tell how nervous she was. She hit my head a few times with the blow dryer. She also dropped the round brush while blow drying so it yanked my hair since she was in the process of blowing my hair. I never mentioned this to the front desk and I even tipped the girl because I felt sorry for her & nervous that she wouldn’t had made much that day. As far as the front desk when I went to pay I told the receptionist that I was not happy with my makeup at all. It didn’t look like what I wanted but I didn’t have time for it to be done again. Her response was«sorry you’re not happy. Do you just want to tip for the hair and not the makeup?». I was in shock I was being asked that and being told to pay for the mess on my face. I paid without arguing because I had to rush to pick up my son and redo my makeup at home. With having to redo my makeup, having to drop my son off at my mom’s, still have to get dressed and to the church on time I was in a big time crunch. I had to have my mom meet me at the church and get dressed in the parking lot so I would be on time. Not how I envisioned my day at all. Luckily I did find some time to spare to send in a complaint online in hopes that their salon manager or owner would read it. I did a call back that day offering a refund and that I had to come back for them to issue it. Annoying that I had to go out of my way to get a refund but I’m glad they offered one without fighting. I was told by an ex-employee that they might be difficult and only offer me free services but never take that as an answer. I’ve learned my lesson and will not be returning. It makes me sad since I have loved blo in the past but it’s not the same any more.

I had a good experience at blo. The place is nice, very modern and a cool vibe. And my stylist, Elisah Canfield, was GREAT! Totally would recommend her. I was somewhat worried about going to a salon essentially in Nichols Hills(not my speed), by Elisah put me right at ease. I did the double-crown braid for a bachelorette party and it turned out amazingly. I was floored by how cool it was, and how it made me look like I have a TON of hair. I would like to come back for a blow-out some time. I especially appreciated their online booking system, and their website is great with lots of tutorials. They also offer packages with a discount if you’re planning on going there quite a bit.

The place looked beautiful, so many employees that looked like possibly skilled hair stylists. We walked in prepared to get 4 blow outs for my cousins engagement party consisting of 500 guests who were waiting for us in about 2 hours. This appointment was made 2 weeks prior, and my cousin had been in constant contact with Blo, regarding her makeup, her hair, everything to make sure on the day of the appointment it would go smoothly. We were 13 minutes late to our appointment, my cousin called exactly at 8:53 when we knew we were going to be late, the salon said okay! See you soon! We walk in at 9:13 and they denied us service. They have a 15 minute late policy. This 15 minute late policy was NEVER mentioned on the phone or anytime in two weeks prior that my cousin had been in contact with the business. The bride to be was to have her hair & makeup done, and the other 3(including myself) wash & blow-outs. It was absurd. We spoke to the manager, she told us there was NOTHING she could do, and we were«Free to Leave». I have never, NEVER, in my life felt more offended by any business in my life. We live in New York City, go to blow out bars ALL the time, some of my favorites are DryBar and DreamDry, we understand that quality of the service is what is important however this was a literal emergency. I have seen girls running into their appointments 30 min late because their cab was stuck in traffic in Midtown and they had to get their hair done for a business meeting, consisting of themselves and their boss. They would still be taken in and worked on! When it comes to a business especially one that you’re trying to work on a time crunch involving HAIR, 45 min per customer just might not cut it especially with girls with longer and thicker hair. So the reasoning behind denying us service was — «we only have 45 min to wash AND blow your hair.» Guaranteed with the kind of hair us 4 had, even if we were on Time there would be no way the stylists would have finished in 45 Minutes. We were completely new to the state, there just for the weekend, we knew nobody and had no resources to help us. It’s a quite disgusting way to run a business and I highly recommend not using the services of this salon, unless run under better management. No offense to any of the stylists, except the girl at the front desk. After spending close to another 15 minutes arguing with the front desk and the store manager, the bride to be planted her butt in a seat and demanded her hair and makeup to be done, the other 3 drove 2 min down the road to LUSH hair salon! By some miracle, they had one no show at 9:30 and 2 of the other stylists had finished up their girls s rather quickly and squeezed the other two in! Now that’s how to run a business. Flexibility and understanding how to be compassionate towards the customer. Just because it’s you’re «policy» doesn’t mean you can’t have exceptions especially when you have 10 stylist standing around in an empty room at 9:13am on a Saturday morning denying service to 4 willing customers.

I had my hair blown out and curled by Ashley. I own a salon in Lawton and I must say Ashley gave me probably one of the best head massages that I have ever had! I had chosen a picture from the book but then I told her that she could do whatever she thought would look best. My hair looked amazing when I left! It was way better than the picture! It still looks awesome today. I have received so many compliments! I will definitely go back every time I’m in okc! I highly recommend this place for blo outs! Oh… and I forgot to mention how super cute the salon is inside!
