I love the smoking lounge to sit and smoke a cigar, and it’s nice when there’s music, but the food it just ok. I had heard from everyone that its the BEST steak in town. It’s not. The cesaer salad is made tableside and is AMAZING, but the Ribeye was a terrible fatty cut and they overcooked it BAD! I told my waitress but she seemed to care less. The surf and turf was not worth it either. The filet was a nice cut and was cooked well, but the lobster was terrible and they charged $ 80 for it!!! Not happy at all and will definitely not spend my money here again. I suggest you save your money and eat elsewhere

Love this place. It’s definitely a great regular spot for a classy crowd. Great servers, good and consistent food, excellent music most nights.

Went Valentines Day this year. First of all, I had never been here before, the boyfriend made reservations early, so we were the first of the crowd to arrive. The two women at the front were completely rude like we were out of place when we said we had a reservation. We were going all the way with filet mignon. Took forever, I make better green beans at home, but the kicker was, we had to send our RAW steaks back 3 times. By the time we got them, the same steaks mind you, they were dry and practically unedible. We complained and we’re told that«their hands were tied» but we could have a free drink from the bar. We said, we don’t drink. Are you sure you can’t just take something off of the check? No, sorry our hands are tied. Our tab was around $ 145.00 for the shittiest dinner I have ever experienced. We own several businesses around town and believe me when I say, I always recommend that for an event, NEVERGOTOJUNIORS, EVER… Those old crotchety weirdos are disgusting. If you want the best steak in the US for half the price, you always go to Cattleman’s. Always.

We have been patrons at juniors many times over the years, but I’m sad to say this will be our last. Our party of 4 went for a special occasion. Our dinner and drinks cost over $ 250 and I am sad to say, was not worth half that. I wish that the owner/management would read these Unilocal reviews. Perhaps they have and simply do not care. So here is my review of our latest experience, the good, the bad and the ugly. The good: only thing that justified 2 stars… interesting ambiance, my husband always jokes that he feels like we are mobsters having back room secret meetings. The staff is friendly. The caesar salad is amazing, regular house salad is fresh and the steak, lobster and shrimp we had were good, albeit bland. The bad: plan to be there for 2 hours. They are not in a hurry to bring bread or your appetizer. This is typical as we always take while to get our first entrée. I think this is a ploy to have you order drinks. Another odd item is you order your drinks from the bar and have a separate bill for the bar. The ugly: First off the cost. This is the cost of the food you get at Boulevard Steakhouse in Edmond or Vast, but the food is of such low caliber that it is not worth it. Steak is better at Cattlemans. It took the waitress nearly 45 minutes to TAKEOUR dinner ORDER!!! I am pretty certain we were forgotten. The green beans were CANNED! WHAT? At this level of an establishemend, I would be embarrassed to serve canned anything! The corn on the cob, was probably frozen, it was chewy and that horrible texture. I’ve had better COC at a buffet! My father ordered a coke, but they kept bringing refills of tea(which he hates). Also I have something very strange in the middle of my potato, not sure what it was, I politely showed it to our waitress, who was nice about it and took it to the kitchen for«inspection». They determined it was a rotten potato and apologized offering to give us all complementary dessert. I told them that I had made my Mom a cake that we did not want dessert. They then offered to give us a «refund». The refund was not on the bill. Sad to say, I wish this iconic restaurant was managed and run in a manner that would ensure its longevity in OKC. For our family, when we left, we all collectively agreed we will never be back.

This place is an institution. I love the retro feel to the menu. Gotta come back and try more. Food is good! Smoking section completely closed off which is nice

The thing to know going into Junior’s is, order what they know how to cook: steak. We did the full«oilie» experience. Started with an excellent fun and tonic and shrimp cocktail. Went on to an excellent French 75 and Caesar’s salad. A word on the salad: this is how they are SUPPOSED to taste, not the over-dressed messes in Italian restaurants. Good stuff! We then got a nice red with a perfectly cooked steak. I like my filet medium well, and they cooked it perfectly by butter flying it. The baked potato was ok, and I skipped the blah green beans. For dessert I ordered a kir royale, perfect for a steakhouse meal. Stick to the basics and you’ll be fine.

Junior’s is an established long term restaurant in the basement of a local office building. I always consider this an «oilee» restaurant, as in one that over the years lots of oil employees and entrepreneurs have patronized and signed many deals here. It’s kind of an Oklahoma City institution. The service is usually very good; food is pretty consistent(mainly known for steaks). Just had lunch here and while I would state they overcooked my «steakburger» the taste was quite good. Very«different» décor… kind of like«early whorehouse red»…LOL But if you go for a steak, you won’t be disappointed… usually. I believe bar is smoking area and they maintain a separate space between smokers/non-smoking.

We went last night for the first time in years and took our kids. I was so disappointed in every way. We waited 20 minutes and then had to ask for a drink. The salad was the only good thing we ate. The steak and shrimp was awful. The shrimp came out cold and tasted like rubber and my steak was barely cooked at all. We told the waitress how we felt and I hope it improves!!!

Terrible customer appreciation. We generally like this bar because it’s a quick place to stop before heading somewhere else… The negative review comes in with a quick rundown of how this place managed… Terribly. We asked for a simple screen change for one football game. None of the tvs were being watched by anyone else… the bar tender obliged but the ‘owner-operator’ quickly changed the channel.(he said… «we don’t watch this SEC bullshit in my bar»)(and I say ‘operator’ with hesitation because this guy had been sitting at a reserved table all night and didn’t come out to help his own staff get out of the weeds… just kept going behind the bar to pour himself drinks) A true operator takes pride in his business and doesn’t just sit down and get drunk while his own staff is in the weeds. Very poor management keeps this place from being better…

If you read the other reviews, you’ll notice that most mention no food at all or only mention the Ceasar salad, so it should be no surprise when I say this was(and is) the worst steak I’ve had in Oklahoma — not just the city, I mean the entire state. And that’s very sad for a place that’s a steak house. I was with a group of 11 people, and the only ones that enjoyed their meal were the two that got fish instead of steak. Everyone else had issues with how their steak was prepared. Had the server ever come back to check on us, we may have remedied the issue, but after taking our orders, we never saw her again until after we’d finished eating(bus-boys did all the delivery). My ribeye was overdone on one end and underdone on the other; and my wife’s filet tasted like a charcoal brickette. Factor in the $ 30+ price per steak and you can imagine why I won’t be returning for a meal. If you do go, the Caesar is really good albeit pricey and small. But I’d suggest just about anywhere else to eat. It’s one saving grace is that as a bar, it has a lot of potential if you like divey little spots. The décor takes you back to the high-rolling oil days and the drink prices are reasonable(at least for beers and wine). And the bar counter is low(i.e. table height) which is a feature I haven’t seen elsewhere. So overall, I’d recommend avoiding the place like the plague, but if you really want to check it out, make sure it’s for drinks and not for a meal.

Went here for a special occasion with friends. The food was tasteless and bland, not to mention VERY over-priced. The sauce on my «Medallions Diane» came straight from a can for sure. The green beans were canned. No flavor in anyone’s meal. Waitstaff running around like chickens with their heads cut off and very curt. Went to the bar after our meal. MISTAKE. The smoke was so thick you could barely breathe. We happened to meet the owner(Jim) in there. One of our party told him about the food. His response? «Whatdya want? Want me to make you another steak?» Well if we didn’t like the first one we sure don’t want another! He was far too busy making crude remarks to the ladies working in the bar and putting his hands all over them to care if our meal was good or not. Won’t be spending any of my money there again.

Juniors is so very proud of its pedigree, which would be AWESOME if Junior’s actually turned out to be a phenomenal restaurant. Sadly, my experience at Junior’s was a bit shy of awesome. We made a reservation for 5 and were seated in a hopping, dark, smoky bar you might have seen in clip from Mad Men. While elegant and transporting and presumably a great place to listen to live music, the bar was… smoky. Why didn’t the person taking the reservation inform our party that the bar was a smoking bar? None in our party were smokers, and after requesting a table in the dining room, we walked away from the bar, but couldn’t quite leave the smoke cloud behind. In the dining room, the smooth red velvet curtains echoed the elegance of the bar, but in a stale, stoddy way. Had our servers been more attentive and the Captain Wafer’s crackers not been our sole source of sustenance for the next 30 minutes, I might have liked the room. But it grew on me, in a kind of fungal way. The drama at Junior’s, apart from being in a 60’s era space underneath the Oil Building on NW Expressway, is the Caesar salad. But for me the drama came with the menu prices and the lack of expertise on the part of our servers. Though servers bustled around our table for a good half hour, none stopped, even when delicately flagged down. Medallions Diane is a favorite recipe, according to the menu, but none of the servers I asked(among 3) could tell me anything about the dish. «It’s our special sauce.» Me: «Is it classic Steak Diane?»(stupid question, but just to be sure here.. .) «Um, well, I’m not sure. I can go ask.» Servers in training? Who knows. Not the service one would expect from the fine dining establishment Juniors purports itself to be. The salad. It’s good. Tossed tableside. While the dressing wasn’t as creamy as I expect a Caesar dressing to be, I *might* go back to Junior’s for the salad alone. Nah, probably not. I kind of lost my appetite and my interest in giving the restaurant my money, so I settled on the escargot as an appetizer(and by the time the server took our order, I had eaten a fair amount of those oh-so-delicious Captain Wafer’s crackers). The snails were fine. They didn’t come in the shell, which is partly the allure of escargots. I hope Junior’s makes some revisions in its service– it has so much potential! I would love to go back one day and really enjoy it.

I don’t understand how this place is getting such high reviews? Maybe, it’s because the sweet little old lady is too sweet? I loved how she checked up on us every so often and helped the other employees with service. I think she maybe the restaurant manager or owner, not sure. The food however was terrible! Well, the steaks were decent. Not much flavor, probably not the best cuts, but definitely edible. I had the 4oz filet and shrimp scampi which was pretty decent, but I could have cooked this meal better in my own kitchen, sorry. My husband had the 12oz ribeye, and he can usually finish a 22oz cowboy ribeye no problem, but he left about 4oz and said it was not good enough to finish, and that he couldn’t eat anymore of it. Our entrees came with canned green beans and terribly presented garlic mash. I had a gut feeling the sides weren’t going to be good so, I asked not to have anything but the main components on my plate. Hubby unfortunately got the sides, and every time I looked over, I wanted to vomit, sorry again. The water they serve tastes really bad. Kind of like the water that my bestfriend serves me at her house. Very old, flat, musty, and plain disgusting. I couldn’t drink it, and neither could my husband. I also had a Sauvignon Blanc called ‘The Ned’ it was also gross when I usually can drink any type of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. My husband had a couple Old Fashions and the first time was delicious, but the second one he ordered tasted completely different and disappointing. The bread is just plain baked white bread, and they serve you crackers for some odd reason with your meal. Oh, and my husband had the Caesar Salad, but the salad greens were wilted and the Caesar dressing was wayyyy too salty. I know there’s anchovies in the dressing, but usually the anchovies are subtle. This was not a subtle flavor. Anyways. Hubby wanted to come here, I really wasn’t looking forward to coming here, and my gut instinct was right about the food. The atmosphere was bad too. Cigar or cigarette smoke, old people perfume scented restaurant. It was really muggy and the seats made my legs itch from the material. I’m done I just really didn’t like this place besides the hospitality. Sorry again, but we will not be back.

Very nice place. The Ceasar salad is a must. I doubt it has changed its décor since opening in the 70’s but I liked it. It’s comfotable and warm. Be sure to stop in the piano bar. I love this bar!

I’ve only eaten here once, and I will recommend the Ceasar salad highly. And I’ve never recommended a Ceasar salad, so there. They have this other thing called Bourbon. Order that, in the bar. If you don’t like 40+ year-old swingers, cigar smoke, crushed red velvet, stiff drinks or live piano, stick to Bricktown. Somehow this place hasn’t been taken over by the skinny-pants kids, probably because Junior’s isn’t trying to be cool. It is legitimately cool. The place can get busy on the weekends, but get there early and you won’t have a problem.

Do you like that show Mad Men? Then you’ll love this place! They have that cheesy red-velvet crap on the walls that just wreaks of the 1960’s…The booth’s are huge, it’s filled with middle-aged doctors and lawyers… They make a damn great steak! This is perhaps the coolest place in OKC… It’s rad! Not that BS hipster cool either… like classic Omega/1936 Rolls Royce/2K D&B cufflinks cool man. If James Bond was from OKC, he’d kick it here for sure. What’s even better is it isn’t pretentious. Take LA’s old money crowd, sans the BS. Full of dudes that started with nothing, worked like hell and made something of themselves. Balls-out awesome.

Love love the bar there. It is for 40s-50s year-old people and of course older people have better taste. Great drinks… brandy ice… yum! The music was fun. Quite a different scenery. I felt like I was in a different time and place. Think about the tumultuous 70s! That is what you will get from Junior’s where I kept wondering if I was in 2010s and Oklahoma or not.

I’ve been going to this place since I was very young. They have the best of everything. Anything you order is something you’ll love. What they’re known for as far as food goes is their fried chicken, steak, Caesar salads and brandy ices. Delicious! Typically you have to ask for a menu because they ARE so well known for what they have. Drinks are fab! Cigar/piano lounge is awesome. Pricey, however it’s all about the experience. This is a great place for a bday dinner, anniversary, business lunch, and holidays. Don’t go here if you can’t afford it. This place is exquisite.

Think 70s Vegas. Smokey bar, pianist, lounge singers, crushed velvet, smoked glass, and expertly poured martinis. If I’m in the mood, the place is awesome. Don’t forget dinner either. The tableside ceasar salad is yummers…
