Thanks to Diners Drive-ins and Dives featuring it on their TV show it became an attraction at the very least the bugers are freshly prepared but nothing I would say are worth waiting in line outside small crowded place in a neighborhood of street people, druggies and gang members. Over rated for sure. DEPENDINGONTHEOWNERSMOOD, he might be somewhat friendly.

You fellow Unilocalers don’t really need this review, but after visiting, I really needed to pile on. First, I am almost ashamed to admit that I’ve been in OKC as long as this place has but haven’t visited before. Apparently my wife and I stopped in(at one of the rare times) when there was no line. I sat down, placed my order, and then noticed this place only deals in paper(not plastic) so I had to leave my wife in order to raid an ATM. By the time I returned(I was gone for 11 minutes), my wife was still there, there was a line snaking around the building, and my masterpiece was being handed to me fresh off the flattop. This place has one of the most juicy, cheesy, bacony, oniony(I know — those are not real words), delicious burgers I’ve ever had anywhere. I ordered mine with bacon, onion, and jalapenos, and it came with a fork(it can get a bit messy, but that’s a good thing). In summary, great food at a great price(Bob Barker and Drew Carey would approve).

Always a line, get there about 10:45. The burgers are outstanding and the fries are really good. Be sure and speak up if you want jalapeños and grilled onions. They’ve rooked me out if these s couple of times.

No flavor, very bland burger. I know there’s a lot of hype with Guy Fieri from Food TV going there. The burger starts out as a large round ball, place on the flat grill and smashed down with a spatula, no salt added, The French fries were great, they were fast getting out everyone’s orders, but just ok in my option. Give it a try, the burgers is huge and the French fries are great.

Definitely a top 3 burger of all-time for me, and I’ve had the world famous burger at Minetta Tavern in NYC– this one ranks up there for sure. As far as value goes, this place cannot be beat. Lines a bit long, but it moves surprisingly well. I am still in awe of how two guys manage and run this whole place– looks like it can get overwhelming mighty quick, but Nic the owner makes it look easy. It’s amazing how he can be personable with so many people at once while cooking up dozens of burgers at the same time. You just tell him what you want and watch your huge burgers sizzle with the beauty of caramelized onions. My mouth is watering writing this review. This place is simply phenomenal– not the best location, but that doesn’t matter when you walk into this holy grail. Next time you ask, «what is there to do in Oklahoma?», think of Nic’s Grill and give your self a delicious reason to make the trip.

So meanwhile back on the ranch… While looking up where I planned to eat lunch today on Unilocal I just remembered that I never left a review for Nic’s although I’m back in Houston still raving about how good it is. As far as the food and the service, it gets no better! My burger was literally handed to me hot off the grill made to order, by Nic! Please believe this not a typical fast food burger. The cheese was thick and melty, the patty was tasty and juicy, the onions were a little more well done than I would have asked for BUT they did not take away anything from the burger! The lettuce and tomatoes were super fresh. I’m telling you it was better than any«gourmet» burger I ever had! And certainly the best burger I’ve had as of late… Now, this place is small and although it was not my experience, I saw firsthand that the wait for a seat can get long, however it is TOTALLY worth it! Yummy yummy yummy! SUPER Delicious! I can’t wait to go back!

One of the most famous and notable burger places in Oklahoma City. This«hole-in-the-wall» has delicious burgers and fries. Come with cash, they don’t meddle with plastic. If you see a line outside, never fear. It moves quickly and you’ll be eating a delicious burger before you know it.

This place has the juiciest and most delicious burgers around. I ordered mine with everything, jalapeños, and cheese. The fries were good too. We had to wait about an hour to get inside(only about 12 seats in the entire restaurant + long lines). Good was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was fun and easy going. Think diner style. After I hit the gym for a few more weeks, I’ll be back! ;)

I finally waited in the line to try the famous Nic’s, and while I was definitely not disappointed, I did not have the experience it seems like a lot of Unilocalers had given Nic’s reviews. I arrived at Nic’s at around 10:35 on a Tuesday. The line was already 7 or 8 deep out the door. So, we waited. It was a decent day, not too hot, but I can see how this wait would be brutal when it’s 100 degrees or raining. As one person leaves, another enters. When you arrive, the joint is small. It has 2 tables, counter seating for about 9, plus another smaller counter behind. It’s very cozy and the size allows Nic to take orders from the entire restaurant without leaving the grill. As soon as I sat down at the main counter, my drink order was taken. Nic has an employee that handles drinks, refills, the money, and items other than burgers. Both guys were super friendly. There’s a large TV on ESPN for you to watch while you wait. Nic has an impressive burger assembly line working. He makes a dozen at a time, with 2 fryers frying curly fries to his left and the various veggies to the right. In addition to the burgers, he has a mound of onions constantly working in the upper right part of the flat top, and jalapenos grilling as well. It’s a lot, but it’s clearly not his first rodeo. As Nic shouts orders and constructs burgers, he also interacts with the customers, greeting regulars(which are many) and generally making sure everyone is having a good lunch. The guy couldn’t be friendlier, very good service and he seems to genuinely care if you are enjoying your meal. I went with a cheeseburger with bacon and jalapenos added, along with some fries. As many note, the burgers are enormous. I have no idea of the size, but I’d think it’s around a half pound of beef or so. The burger is served on a simple bun with standard sides. No fancy artisan pickles or lettuces here. Mine was extremely difficult to keep together. I got maybe 2 bites before I had to resort to a fork. The quality of the beef is evident, but mine was overcooked for my taste. No pink whatsoever throughout, which I think affected the juiciness of the burger. Additionally, the onions, file very flavorful, were just served in a huge mound. It was difficult to get a bite of them without the entire mound of onions coming out of the burger. The order of fries, like the burger, is enormous. I didn’t finish either. The fries were too greasy and did not have any seasoning. I would have preferred a draining period for some of the grease to drip off, but they are placed directly from the fryer basket to the plate. The fries are the main reason I’m leaving off that 5th star. I have heard great things about Nic’s chicken fried steak, and while no one ordered one while I was there, I want to return to try it. I’ll be back, but not during the height of summer or a snowstorm…

Food: 5⁄5 Service: 4⁄5 Cleanliness: 3⁄5 Décor & Style: 1⁄5 Burgers are top notch. I would say top 3 – 4 burgers i’ve had(I still prefer Mob Grill or In-N-Out). It is your typical large, greasy burger. I feel the beef needs to have more flavor. The primary flavor shouldn’t come from the bacon, sauce, or toppings, but the meat first, then sauce, then the rest. The staff members(all 2 of time) were extremely pleasant. This particular location is the small diner type. You still have to wait outside even during non-busy days(like Mondays at 11AM). Inside, everything is cramped and claustrophobic. Yes, their other location must be much more comfortable so I will try that place some other time. Probably would not be back to this particular location due to the wait. The burger is amazing, but not amazing enough for me to wait again unless there is a friend who hasn’t had it and is dying to try it out.

Both the food and service is great delicious burgers ! The line is long very long, took us an hour to get in the restaurant it’s bananas. Closing time is at 2pm and I saw people still in a long line around 1:30. So first tip go there early! Besides the long wait the food is awesome! Nic and his associates are awesome~ so very polite and never in a sour mood. The establishment is a bit small hence the long line but it has a very charming atmosphere. This was our last stop from our visit to okc and I’m glad we chose Nic’s Grill :-) be sure to go it’s worth the wait~

Nic’s Grill is a masterwork in precision, grace, and great food. Watching«Nic» run the place with structure while maintaining his laid back charm and kindness is as significant as their amazing burgers. Everyone knows the food is amazing, but the service was even better. PROS: World class burger and fries. Kind, considerate service. CONS: Crowded. Cash only. The burgers are greasy and your day will slow down after your Nic-coma hits. PROTIP: Arrive at 10:40 am and eat early to avoid waiting outside. Who doesn’t need a breakfast burger sometimes.

Best burger I’ve had in awhile. Took about 20 min to wait on the line outside, however found 2 seats together for my fiancé and I as soon as we got in. About $ 10 for cheeseburger, fries and a drink, comparable to Five Guys, but Nic’s is better. Bigger juicier burger, and fresh toppings. Fries were little undercooked but still great. Add some of the Cajun seasoning on the fries. All in all an amazing experience and delicious burger. Will be back soon!

Not traditional onion burgers but one of the best damn burgers I’ve had. I stopped by around 10 am and there was no line which I’ve heard can be an issue. I had a long conversation with the owner and he mentioned how important the quality of the ingredients are to him and one can tell, the burger is absolutely delicious. It’s a famous Classic OKC place and any trip to the city requires an attempt to have a burger here.

The burgers and fries are very high quality, and you get a ton of meat; well worth the wait in line. Even better was the service. Nic’s assistant behind the counter was very respectful and attentive, even for 5 minutes after their technical closing and with people still waiting to order. I was most impressed by Nic himself, who seems like a truly nice, humble man grateful for every person who walks through his doors. I’ll be making Nic’s a regular habit as often as my waistline can afford. The establishment is cash only, so keep that in mind. When we ate there, the last guy in line didn’t know that, and the gentleman in front of him happily paid for his meal just so he could experience it.

I have been to the must visit Mecca in Oklahoma City it’s Nic’s. Nothing fancy never mind the ambiance. It’s all about the burger. It’s a big olé burger with grilled onions and cheese. Lots of pickles are the little secret weapon. Nic will talk to you while he works the flat top it adds to the fun. Getting 2 seats together is the trick but as a lone wolf Food Finder I got a spot dead center. The gentleman Asians at the counter is world class. He greets you and get your drink and keeps the cup full. I’ll claim this burger top ten in my travels il like em just like this. Big oozing with cheese inundated with onions and dripping with deliciousness. Such a treat to have this grilled meat. The hardest part is finding a seat! FoodDude! I told you I’d get in there.

If you know me, you’re aware that I’m a burger guy. I eat burgers a couple days every week and frequently plan trips around great hamburger restaurants.(Well, I plan trips around great BBQ and Mexican restaurants too, but that’s beside the point.) After enjoying great burger restaurants coast to coast, I can honestly say I didn’t even know what a real hamburger was until today. Nic’s is a tiny, approximately 20 seat establishment on the near West side of OKC. When you enter you walk directly into the middle of the bar lined with stools to your left and right. There are also a few seats against the front wall of the restaurant, and that’s it. It’s really, really small. Behind the bar is the grill. Oooooh, the grill — piled high with carmelizing onions, a stack of sliced fresh jalapeños waiting to be grilled, and a never ending parade of generously sliced bacon, and giant balls of fresh hamburger meat being smashed into juicy and delicious patties. To the side stands the fryer jammed full of bubbling curly fries. You’ll also see the refrigerated area with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, mustard, pickles, mushrooms, and the thickest slices of American cheese you’ve ever seen. What sets this place apart is Nic, the owner. Nic not only owns and runs the restaurant, he also cooks all the burgers. Nic and a single additional employee staff this bustling joint with a friendly smile for every customer. They don’t serve the food quickly, but I wouldn’t say their service is slow either. You’ll see for yourself that each meal is lovingly prepared as if they were going to eat the food themselves. Be prepared to wait in line if you come within an hour+ of meal time, and dress warm in the winter or cool in the summer, because the waiting line is outside. I love lots of burger restaurants, but Nic’s has definitely raised the bar for my burger expectations in the future.

One star because the cook had raw meat in his hands, went over to the sink only to literally run water over his hands for THREE seconds, and then continued to handle the food he is serving with the same bare hands! I just can’t give a good rating for this kind of disregard for safety.
