we went on the 12th, my house is about 10 min from this place and we called, the guy answered the phone said ‘we just open, come on in’ so we went. We walked in, nobody greet us, bunch of people walking around, most of the table 21ish are having drinks, Come to find out we just sit ourselves, weather were nice, so we said we will just sit on patio. There were 2 tables of customers already out there, sipping their drinks. Their server come and left with more drinks, and another group of people show up, and another. Now this is almost 15 — 20 min later, did not get any water, nobody greeted us, same waiter kept bringing the other table their alcoholic beverages. I think they serve food, but they just ignore you if you don’t drink.

The bar itself is nice. The location, the outdoor patio area, and the food are all ideal. My complaint is with the bartender. My brother loves the place and loves to order the special concoction the have stored in the back. Everytimw I’ve been there though I’ve been met by this guy Roy. It is very difficult to get service from him. One time he told our party that we have to order from the bar after we sat at a table. The girl at the bar told us to go ahead and have a seat and they’ll get our order. Then Roy came to the table to take our order, reluctantly. I ordered a panini and a diet coke. He asked me 3 time, «a diet coke?» Not sure what the confusion was. The rest of our party even noticed. Everytime after that it has been very difficult to get service from him. I have worked in the service industry so as a rule I am always pleasant with the people taking care of me. I also tip well. I’ve found better places to frequent. I just meet so where else when meeting my friends.

I had their Lemon Buster cocktail and it was quite good. I also went here for their Saturday brunch buffet and that was also quite good. They have $ 2 Mimosas and $ 5 Bloody Mary’s. Their Bloody Mary’s are terrible and not worth ordering fwiw. It was really way too bitter; I heard 2 other people complaining about it tasting off so I know I am not alone in my thinking.

Our favorite bar in OKC! The bar staff is elite. The drinks are so great because the attention to detail is unmatched. The same goes for the food. The Pork Chili Verde alone is worth the trip! Do yourself a favor and stop by for a Spicy Sexton, Cherokee 75, or a Minor Key.

Power House grounds itself in the kind of instagrammable nostalgia millennials tend to call history. A devoted patron tells me the place was formerly the actual power house that generated energy for the surrounding market. This and many other such factoids build up to a buzz that suggests something approximating substance. It is of a piece with the rest of the area, a Market dating back to 1928 that now dresses itself in a twee blight-meets-Tumblr glow. If only other areas in the city(we do have food deserts after all) could meet with such tender attention. I intend to update this review when I’ve sampled their food(and a bouquet of sun-roasting peppers hanging in the premises tells of yumminess). The staff, in my experience, has been thoroughly attentive — during one visit, only three worked a decently packed night(that’s two servers-come-bartenders, and one cook), and the patio was never neglected, drinks, food, water refills and all. Drinks are also great, with a cocktail menu promising an extensive list of reasonably-priced goodies. They are also well-versed with the many out-of-menu standards I tend to order(their solid Boulevardier I consider the perfect nightcap to a sunny Friday). It shares with some kindred establishments(The Pump and the particularly extremist Bleu Garten come to mind) the understanding that OKC’s relatively mild year-round temperatures make of patio drinking a regional hobby. The indoor space is therefore extremely minimal and tight(it almost looks a space-starved New York bar), reserving for open air seating the lion’s share of acreage. It is spring at the moment. Our perfect weather ought to make Power House the city’s drinking hole of choice. Someday the city will catch on I’m sure, but Power House’s location as well as its being a moderately-kept secret tells me there isn’t any need to worry about overcrowding just yet. Another reason to be a Power House regular and continue drinking all those toasts to our temperate sun.

Now that I’ve finally made it to brunch here, I feel that it has warranted my review. I didn’t want to only talk about my drink experiences, and it took me a long time to try the food here. The menu is definitely more snacky, so I’d advise not to be starving when you come. Let’s talk brunch though. On Saturdays, it starts at noon and is all you can eat for $ 14! You can definitely get your money’s worth by trying everything. It is all prepared really well and tasted just like home. I basically tried a little of everything, besides the omelette bar. That just would’ve been too much. There were small tables set up around the inside with a variety of items from biscuits and gravy and French toast, to red beans and rice and spinach salad. The red beans and rice was probably my favorite! I honestly didn’t have a thing I didn’t like. The bacon was also cooked to a nice crisp. As far as the drinks go, these cocktails are something special. The bartender’s are great at helping you find the perfect drink for what you’re in the mood. I’m in love with the patio. It has both covered and non-covered seating with repurposed item tables and a hodge podge of chairs. Rustic and homey. They also often have live music outside. We’re lucky to have a great place like this!

I almost hate to review Power House, as it’s been a great little secret hideout for me– or at least it’s felt that way– since it opened last year. I like it sparsely populated(i.e., not on a weekend night), which, in my mind, adds to its allure: Power House feels like a lonely little honky tonk with regulars; rad bartenders; a rustic patio adorned with ristras, chiminea, and succulent cacti. Piñón and Marty Robbins on the wind, cuppa spicy chile pork verde, slice of chipotle chile pie, sip of cocktail, beer, or wine: best in the west. Power House conjures up my feels. Despite no real kitchen in the back, the food options are tasty. Hawai’ian Pig biscuits are pretty simple little ham sammiches on Hawaiian rolls. Saturday brunch is all-you-can-eat. I don’t want my kids to know about the chocolate gravy and biscuits, or I’ll have to go back to fill up my plate with so much breakfast before stumbling back out into the sunshine to balance out my overindulgence by wandering over to Urban Agrarian and(pretend) perusing all the local produce. Those migas, though. The interior and the music are the beginning and finishing touches of Power House, really, if such things move your soul. When you miss the wild west and want a touch of tumbleweed drifting across the high desert plains, you might find it in the Spicy Sexton Rita, twang, and lonesome souls at Power House. I’ll join you.

Would give zero stars if there was an option. I am a former bartender and have worked in the service industry for 10+ years. My husband and I literally just walked out after having a female bartender laugh in our face for asking for a high chair. For a restaurant near a farmers market, I don’t find anything funny about assuming you’d have a high chair. Also when we told them we’d never been there and asked if there would be a server we were treated like idiots. I don’t care how good your food or drinks are, business is never booming enough to laugh at customers for asking a simple question. We’re headed to hideaway pizza to enjoy our Saturday as a family and will be telling all our friends to stay away from powerhouse. We’re new to the area and never plan on giving them a dollar, nor will any of our recently moved friends.

Great place for a drink, 1980’s music, young and old, outside seating with a lovely patio. They have brunch on the weekend, which is unique and well worth it. This place is a boon to Oklahoma City farmers market area, get down here for a drink and some food

This place is amazing! Being new to the city, my husband and I wanted to find a place where we could relax and become a possible«regular.» The place is small but cozy, and has a really fun vibe! Brent and Natalie helped us navigate through the drink menu(which isn’t extensive but AWESOME) I chose the cocktail route and my hubs chose beer. Being a Bloody Mary fan Brent made a bomb Verde Mary pictured below… SOGOOD!!! Definitely check this place out…

Pretty solid concept. Love the bar food options! The beer companion is a little pricey but really yummy! Patio space, easy parking, great bar staff.

I’m nervous to tell you my love for this place, for fear that you’ll bring all your friends and take it over. I have faith that you’ll be kind and let me still enjoy my Friday nights in peace here. Powerhouse is a bar with a small food menu tucked away in the Farmer’s Market area. Blink and you’ll miss it. Great little outdoor area with chimeneas and lights. Small indoor space with about 6 tables or so. Two reasons to go: casual /intimate vibe and amazing green chili. Like Death Row sort of meal. I’ve gotten several friends hooked on it. Dudes who run this place are pretty much always here and just the nicest. We bring our dog and they cater to him as if HE were paying the tab. Great location for meeting people out of town as it is close to I-40. Also close to midtown /downtown and Heritage Hills.

Had a meetup here on the patio. I secured three tables near the fireplace on a cold night, which made for a very cozy night of laughter and good times! Drinks: The cocktails here aren’t cheap, but I felt like they were reasonably strong and well-made. Service: The employees are very friendly. One guy spent a good 20 minutes getting our fireplace and heating lamp up and running, which was VERY important to our comfort level. I appreciate that he was pretty determined to get us some heat. They were very busy and still managed to provide our group with great service. Food: I had the Chili Verde bowl that has been mentioned here several times. I scarfed it down within minutes. It really hit the spot, especially on a cold night on the patio! Ambiance: The environment is rustic, but hip. It may feel a tad bit pretentious to some, but the staff don’t give off that vibe at all. It kind of feels like the good parts of a dive, without the grossness, which in itself makes it a worthwhile place to hang out.

Love this space! Great little bar for happy hour. The patio is so cute, and the inside has a great rustic feel. Happy hour(I think 4−7pm on weekdays) features $ 3 Anthem IPA or COOP Spare Rib… I think there’s a Coors option in the happy hour as well, but I went with the COOP. Two beers for $ 6 — not bad at all. I was tempted to try the margarita made with hatch green chile-infused tequila, but I wasn’t really in the mood for anything spicy. I’ll have to try it though because I generally love jalapeño and other spicy margaritas. I’ve heard so-so things about the service, especially when you sit outside, but we had someone come by every 15 minutes or so, which was fine since we were just drinking. They had on their chalkboard that they sell roasted green chiles, which I will HAVE to stop by for sometime! I live on the northwest side of town and just have to catch them when I can at local grocery stores. Good to know Power House sells them too! I’ve also heard their brunch buffet is great, so I’d love to come back and try that as well.

I love this place. It makes me want to jump on a couch, on the Oprah Winfrey Show, a la Tom Cruise circa 2005 and scream«I LOVETHISBARRR!» Extreme you say? Nope, wait until you try it out and you’ll feel the same. The food, drinks and service here are all stellar — and have I mentioned the insane patio(s)?! The interior is cozy and eclectic, the bathrooms are clean, and the outside offers tons of shaded seating. The Chili Pig(basically pork sliders, on Kings Hawaiian Bread!, covered in the Pork Verde) and the bowl of Pork Verde Chili stood out as far as the food goes. The portions were the perfect size and everything was really flavorful. The drinks were wonderful, everyone at our table really liked the spicy margarita, and they have a good beer selection. I think this is my new favorite bar in town, I can’t wait to try their brunch #lifegoals Definitely go check it out!

Recently, I returned to Powerhouse to consume their much-talked about brunch. And when they cooked up brunch, they must’ve been thinking«let’s give them something to talk about!» Their brunch is damn good, y’all. For $ 14, it’s all you-can-eat, rather than order off a menu. There are cooks at the helm, ready to prepare eggs or waffles for you. The sides are stationed around — our location happened to be near the french toast, fruit, sausage. Being near a full tray of french toast is a test in temptation that’s for certain. There was also a station for fruit, crackers, appetizer-type things. But the best station of all? The biscuit station. The biscuit station with Chocolate. Gravy. I repeat: Chocolate. Gravy. It was decadent, yes, but chocolate gravy is so worth it, especially their chocolate gravy. The biscuits are also petite, so you can get away with eating 3 – 4 without feeling too guilty. Go ahead. I dare you to eat less than 3! Smothered in chocolate gravy, o’course. Mimosas were also $ 2, which was quite nice. My friend ordered a $ 5 Bloody Mary, which tasted a little off, but major ups for the bartender taking it back and whipping up something else instead. And most importantly? Be sure to get there early /right on the dot of opening. It’s a small space and fills up FAST. Even if you can’t beat the crowd, try to stick around if you can, because honey, brunch here is totes worth it.

We were looking for a place to have Brunch and thought of this new restaurant. Upon entering we were greeted and through out our meal we interacted with all the staff in a friendly way. They let us know how the buffet worked and where all the food was located. It’s spread out because the place is not that big(but big enough). As park of the breakfast buffet you can have an omelet made for you. I nice touch. All their selection were very tasty. The buffet items were to numerous to mention all of it. You just have to go and try this place sometime to see what I mean. They also have drinks. In fact it’s a nice place to just chill and have a drink. They also have outdoor patio with a bandstand. The powerhouse is located in an up and coming location that is just going to keep getting better. THINKFRESHFRUITSANDVEGETABLES. I loved and restaurant and will go back for sure.

From the front, this place doesn’t look like much, but walk around to the door(with electric bolts for handles!) and you’ll see it has a decent sized patio, complete with lights and a fireplace! From the moment I sat down, until we left, we felt welcome and comfortable. It’s a small place that went with the popular rustic wood and harsh metal industrial look. Although it’s small, it was really open and spacious. Even with three other groups there, we didn’t feel claustrophobic. I decided to go with their version of the French 75 — the Cherokee 75. Theirs is made with a homemade sorghum simple syrup with lemon, sage, and other yummy things. Matthew went with the Beekeeper — barenjager, local craft brewer Anthem’s wit, and lemon. They were both delicious, which says a lot since the latter isn’t an easy drink to make. A few interesting characteristics that set them apart: they are located in the farmers’ market district on SW2nd and Reno, they have a very small, but local menu using the farmer’s market, they don’t serve ice unless you ask, and they include taxes in their prices. We ordered a bowl of Coop F5 Spicy Chile Pork Verde. It was similar to a chili served with white cheese and a grilled Serrano pepper on top, and a side of toasted tortillas. It had just the right amount of kick. It was really yummy, and I look forward to their expanded menu, hopefully this summer. I would like to see them get some real plates, bowls, and silverware, even if they were all mismatched(which, I think, would just add to their charm, rather than take away like the cheap paper plates, Styrofoam bowls, and plastic silverware do). I’m planning on coming back real soon so I can try their Saturday afternoon Market brunch!
