A friendly atmosphere, with shabby chic interior .The breakfast is omg! I had their special croissant sandwich which was tasty. The prices are so cheap! It has a shabby chic clean look and guests are treated like family. The staff is super friendly and the service is fast! Will return!

Ray’s is a solid diner. I’ve only had breakfast here, but it’s a great value. I’ve had an omelet, biscuits & gravy and the scrambled eggs are particularly good. There is a mixed crowd, but primarily older people who I assume have been coming here for years. If you’re looking for some fast, quality diner food, Ray’s will definitely satisfy you. Their service has been consistently good as well!

I love having a dive-y diner in the neighborhood. The servers are friendly and know their regulars well. You get what you ask for with food– nothing fancy, but when you need hashbrowns and bacon, this will cure your craving. I’m in here all the time and love the low prices for breakfast foods.

The food was excellent. Our waitress was nice. However, the hours have changed and they are darn serious about having you out of there at 2pm. Running the vacuum while people are eating and asking them to put money out at 2:00 on the dot is a little rude. Not sure what is happening in personal levels, but it is a shame to lose business over 5 or 10 minutes for someone to finish their meal. Really had looked forward to this. Need to update your hours online as well and consider giving customers a little 5 or 10 minute leeway until that happens.

Oh, Ray’s. I am a sentimental fool. You were my first meal after I stepped off the plane to Oklahoma, and I’ve been coming back ever since. I admit it: I do love me a good old fashioned diner food and feel most at ease on a weekday morning with the over 70 crowd. The waitresses are quick and attentive and always keep my coffee filled. I can come in and have a big pancake breakfast at 2:00PM and no one judges. I can come in early in the morning for a coffee and biscuit and no one makes cheerful banter with me. I like this place. I like it a lot. It’s clean, kinda divey, and just what I picture the ideal Oklahoma diner to be.

I know people love this place but I just can’t figure out why. The only thing I can figure is that they have been going there for years and have nostalgia clouding their judgement. I mean… the service is fine, the food… is boring, basic and not particularly well done. There is nothing special about this place as far as I can tell. This place is OK at best.

Me and my sister found Rays Café the service was very good as well as the food we like the mom and pop restaurants we will be back.

I just can’t not give this place five stars. Can’t think of one reason not to. Service was fine, place was divey but clean. I saw that one of their lunch specials was a chicken fried steak with two sides for $ 6.50, so I took the risk of ordering that and was super impressed. The steak was a good size but not super overwhelming, like most. What I most enjoyed about the steak was that it was thin and crispy. I hate overly thick, breading falling off, grease laden steaks. Gravy and taters were good, corn was fluffy and had flavor. You really can’t beat the price and quality.

I can’t think of anything to add that some of the other Unilocalers haven’t already touched on, so let’s keep this simple and I’ll just add to the overall rating. — It’s a run-of-the-mill diner. Filled with sweet old white folk. — Prices are cheap. — Food is good, not great. Very run-of-the-mill diner-like in quality. — Food portions are filling. — Prices are really cheap. — Customer service is great. — Did I mention the prices are cheap? — Oh right, the chicken fried steak is more breading than steak. I’m going to steal a line from Spencer G.: «Don’t go out of your way to visit this place, but if you’re in the area then you should give Ray’s a try.»

Pretty much just your typical diner. Full of regulars, cheap prices, and personable staff. This is the sort of joint that I’d imagine Ron Swanson would frequent. You order eggs, they will bring you eggs, nothing more, or less. Bacon=bacon, nothing fancy. Isn’t the sort of place to be adventurous. I’ve ordered the meatloaf, and the prime rib. Not a good idea, but that was my fault. I knew what kind of place this was before I even ordered. The menu is roughly 4 – 5 pages, full of lunch and dinner specials. Get the dinner pancakes if you visit in the evening time. The service is the type that you would receive in a small country town. The servers call you hun, and if you visit more than 2 – 3 times a week, then they’ve pretty much have you pegged. Having your drink ready before you speak your first words. That’s the kind of service that I should receive at Belle Isle since I’ve been going there at least 3 times a week for over 2 years, but the main bartender there is a dick. Ok, I’ve gotten off topic. Order the Pancakes. Servers are nice. Prices are super low. There’s usually no waiting. Don’t go out of your way to visit this place, but if you’re in the area then you should give Ray’s a try.

We came with a group of 5 and we were met at the door by the waitress who informed us that«It is like 15 minutes until we close and the grill is already shut down» Well if you shut down at 7:30 then why don’t you say you close at 7:30 instead of 8? With attitude like that I am glad she encouraged us to go elsewhere…

The food might be ok but we had the rudest server ever; three servers for lunch and we get ignored for ages and when we politely point out that we’ve been waiting we get total attitude from the waitress…

The first thing you notice upon entering this place is the overwhelming number of seniors. That being said, the food here is simple, brought out quickly, and the service was attentive.

I had taken a week off from my overextended scheduled life in Vegas to come to Oklahoma to visit family. On Sundays, that meant I’d be going to church and having lunch afterward. After a long Episcopalian service, my grandma said she was starving and that she wanted to go to Ray’s. I’d never heard of this place and looked it up on Unilocal.Yes, they were open. When she pulled up, I was taken aback. It was in a little run down building and was packed. When we got inside, I was the only person, save for a little girl with her grandma, under the age of 65. My grandma ordered a BLT and I ordered the chicken with a side of fruit and okra an order of grits. It was cheap, but not worth the price because the food was meh. «A side of fruit» actually meant canned fruit cocktail. I haven’t eaten that since I was in an elementary school cafeteria — suffice to say, that was inedible. The chicken was just a sad little breast that had been served in warm Italian dressing. The okra was the frozen, breaded kind that’s more breading than okra. Disappointing. The grits were okay. I probably wouldn’t go back here because I wasn’t a fan of the food. Visited 7÷29÷12

I wanted to like Ray’s. The reviews were fantastic. The space warm and inviting in that warn in, no nonsense, comfort sort of way. But the eggs and hash browns tasted of old grease and too much ‘butter’, the gravy was from a can and the bacon burnt. The service was friendly so two stars is reasonable.

Order the pancakes and try to guess the secret ingredient, then, after you can’t, ask what it is. Bring kids and they’ll stick mouse ears on the pancakes Fabulous! Friendly ladies serving the food and really good prices. Down-home atmosphere with lots of locals. Fun!

My favorite diner in OKC. It’s just diner food, but man do they do it right. Pancakes are always hot, service is always good. I always know what to expect and everything on the menu is just what you want. Highly recommend the catfish sandwich, any burger, mushroom swiss grilled chicken sandwich, and taco salad.
