Walmart Neighborhood Market

Better than full wal-​marts. Still evil, just a little easier to manage.

Thank goodness for this Wal-​Mart Neighborhood Market! Granted, there are several cons to it… but with the subpar quality of service received at restaurants in the area, I may starve without it.
The store in itself seems smaller to me than most neighborhood markets and the layout seems completely random. I have been here enough times to get the general idea of where everything is, though there is no rhyme or reason.
The deli meats have always tasted delicious and the deli workers are super sweet.
Many of the employees have very broken English, or English is definitely not their first language. These employees have always made the most valiant attempts to use clear communication and get help when they could not. I appreciate that when there was a language barrier someone was in close general proximity to clarify for both parties. However, I could see this becoming extremely frustrating for everyone involved if someone was in a hurry.
When I come in around lunch time it is not too bad. I have come in the evenings between 5:30 & 6 and it is ridiculous busy. They are way understaffed for the traffic that comes through. I could go in and shop for an entire list of food and goods for the week and still wait in line longer than the amount of time it took me to shop!
Weighing the good with the bad, I will take my lunchtime runs and leave the post work shopping alone!

I only go to this place if it is a necessity.
I hate to be disparaging toward anyone or anything, but this location is subpar, even for Walmart.
While is contains the accoutrements with which we are all familiar with a Walmart Neighborhood Market, it lacks any sense of efficiency. The checkout lines are consistently long due to the fact this store is nearly always understaffed. When I shop here and interact with the employees, I generally feel bad for them because their management does not provide the resources for them to perform at a level of excellence.
The layout is not well-​designed in this store. The lines are long. It’s not very clean. I’ve been hit up by people selling watches inside the store. There are panhandlers in the parking lot.
This location really performs a disservice to NW 23^rd street.

It’s a great store for the size…
I do wish they had a better choice in the specialty meats…
