Clean store, friendly staff. I actually went here when I first started playing MTG again after a few year hiatus and moving from STL to KC. It’s a perfectly reasonable place to sit down and play a FNM or smaller/more relaxed tournament. I would imagine that they max out at around 40-ish people. Given the massive quantity of tabletop gaming stuff, it’s not hard to figure out that this is a tabletop gaming store first and foremost. MTG and other CCGs clearly play second fiddle. If you’re wanting to just play an FNM and Collector’s Cache/Win More Games/Spanky’s are too far away(aka you live in SW Olathe or further south than 151st street), it’s fine. Or I suppose if you’re a big Warhammer 40K player, this is probably your destination of choice. Parking is a bit of a nightmare and their pricing is closer to full retail than dedicated hobby store level. It was fine for the PPTQ this past Sunday and the prize payout was A-OK.

Great little neighborhood store and located close to Austin’s. Lots of neat little games and RPG and card games. The owner is great(Joe), but it suffers a little when he has to rely on someone else to run the shop.

31st has been a great place to take the kids, and now that they are off to college, I still go. For the hard core or casual gamers, it is a community where everyone is welcome. For those who are looking to buy a family game that’s more creative or challenging than what you can find in regular retail, you can find it at 31st.

By far the best hobby and game shop I’ve ever been to. Joe is knowledgeable about many, many different games and pursuits; most shops tend to focus on just a few. He keeps a great inventory, runs several events and is even open to player-made events. Just run an idea by him! The community is great and there is a place for everyone, whether you want to play a tabletop game, card game, board game, RPG, or anything really. If you’re interested in picking up or learning about a new game, or building your skills/army/whatever, PLEASE support this wonderful shop that has given so much to all of us.

I have been coming to 31st Century Games & Hobbies for 10 years now. This place still keeps me coming back whenever I’m looking for a gaming fix. I can always count on 31st Century to carry something a bit more obscure than most other hobby stores and they have a larger selection from the lines that are popular. The store is mostly filled with miniatures, board games, and role playing games, but 31st Century also carries comic books and collectible card games. The gaming area is inside the store and can get busy during the weekends with large numbers of people playing various games. The owner is knowledgeable on virtually all of the product he carries in the store and is happy to order something if it isn’t in stock. 31st Century Games & Hobbies has shown their quality and worth to me as a customer all these years, and I will never cease to bring my hard-earned-money to this establishment. It’s places like this that make me choose to NOT go the less expensive route and purchase all my gaming needs online. Support your Friendly Local Game Store(FLGS)!
