Pleasant building and atmosphere. Good service, especially from the older gentleman. Sandwich was good. I used the taco sauce to complement it and it was a proper boost, if you get my expression. Shake was thick and pretty good. I will be back. In this day, good service is appreciated.

Incompetent staff. Drive-thru took 10 minutes. And I was the second car. Order was wrong. Food decent.

This was by far the worst fast food I have ever had. The chain itself is good, have always loved Jack in the Box, however this location is awful. The staff was impossible to understand in the drive thru, could not get my simple order of a #1 with curly fries, and then messed up the order. The bun was wrong and did not come with lettuce or tomatoes. This was the original burger and they couldn’t even get it right. The patty itself was way overdone and for sure had been sitting on a warming tray all day. Do not go to this establishment, keep driving and go literally anywhere else. Terrible service, terrible food, terrible management.

Incompetent staff. Messed the price of my order up at the counter. In my favor though. Manager comes in and tells employee to go get me so they can charge correctly. I’m ok with that, but they treat me like it’s my fault, not even an apology for the inconvenience. Next they hand me my food. Order is also wrong. I give them the burgers back, instead of throwing away, and making a fresh burger with right ingredients, they just redo the bun, pilfer the burger patties from the one I returned. After all was said and done. The food was less than average, staff are idiots, and you still pay about the same as if you went to better fast food like Hardees, Wendys, or Culvers.

Would have given this place no stars if I could. Like I’ve mentioned before, I do not eat fast food that often, and when I do, I want something really good! I had had jack in the box for the first time in seattle over the summer. I was instantly won over by the cheeses jalapeño poppers! I also loved the tacos and fries! Everything was just awesome. THISLOCATIONSTINKS. HORRIBLEFOOD. Sorry, I rarely pull out the big guns and use caps, but I was sooooo disappointed. I had been craving these poppers all summer. I went two weeks back and ordered and egg roll, 7 jalapeño poppers, and two tacos. The tacos were soaked in grease, literally dripping. So gross. They so soggy they just fell apart, aside from drenching the wrappers they came in. But hey, I still had my poppers to eat! Even more disappointing. They were basically just hollow poppers, without cheese and jalapeños! Like seriously, they were all empty on the inside. How does that even happen? The egg roll was all right, but I’m not going to go there for an egg roll. I am so sad! The food could potentially be amazing! PLEASEGETITTOGETHER. ORDOESJACKHAVETOOBIGOF A HEAD? ;)

Tempted to give this particular Jack In The Box location of Olathe a one star rating. Yes, it’s that bad more times than not. Jack in the box automatically gets an extra star for being the best 24 hour a day option in regards to fast food. Yea, McDonald’s and Burger Kings operate 24hours in many locations as well. I’ll lean ever so slightly with Jack In The Box. Not exaggerating when I say visit at your own risk past midnight. I can’t count how many times I’ve visited late night/early morning hours and unable to get anyone to take my order in the drive thru or inside the building. It’s as though the employees have all abandoned ship and are sleeping in the back room somewhere. Has happened on two different occasions inside the restaurant. On one occasion, I was told my order couldn’t be taken because the hot water tank was out… Um, what does that have to do with taking an order? Many many times you will be unable to get shakes over night. Seems like the shake machine is on a 3 hour cleaning cycle. If you’re lucky to get a food order placed, be sure to check the bag before you leave. Not unusual to get the wrong or missing items. Again, how is this even possible if you’re the only customer in the building? Customer service is absolutely atrocious at the Olathe location with the night crew. Other locations around KC are well aware of Olathe’s reputation. I have bypassed Olathe all together and headed over to Metcalf or one of the other locations if on my route. The day time crews are better and the food is a little more consistent. As far as reviewing the food goes, not much to say. It’s your run of the mill fast food. Their taco’s aren’t bad as I get them with no cheese. Can’t get past eating a deep fried taco with a slice of hamburger cheese inside of it. The pizza rolls are actually pretty good. The french fries aren’t bad. I really like their crunchy onion rings. Egg rolls are hit or miss. Burgers are big time hit or miss. They had a really good double jalapeño cheeseburger in the past. The spicy chicken sandwich combo is one of the better items to go with. The Jack in the Box shakes are outstanding. The thickest shakes I’ve ever had. You will need a spoon because it’s virtually impossible to drink through a straw. In my opinion, the Jack in the Box breakfast items are very good as well. The large Texas toast type breakfast sandwich is fried egg, ham, bacon, and cheese but is way too salty and rich with butter. Wouldn’t eat it too much. The location is growing like crazy where this Jack in the Box sits. Again, the 2 stars for for the continuing horrible night-time experiences. Day time gets 3 stars.

I tried Jack in the Box while out on the west coast and a friend insisting it was the best. I wasn’t impressed. I tried them when they opened in KCK, still wasn’t impressed. Someone told me to try the tacos. I should have known better when they are 2/$ 1, still wasn’t impressed. Why do I keep thinking they might impress me? Ok, that isn’t completely true. When KCK opened I also tried the bacon cheddar fries. Those aren’t bad. Not amazing, but I would run through the drive thru for an order on occasion. They also calibrate their soda machines well. So on the rare occasion I drink a soda, they are a good option to run through and get one from. When this store opened, I went through the drive thru and got a salad. I realize it was their first weekend open and I didn’t expect optimal service, but when trying to get salad dressing I was only given one option and was told that was all they had. The person they had working the drive thru window handing out food seemed to have limited English skills. I am not bashing that at all, but for a grand opening, maybe not the best person to have in that position because there are going to be questions. I had to settle for a dressing that I really was not a fan of and never did find out if they really only have the one option or if it was just first week hell. The salad was not impressive either. I also got an order of jalapeño poppers to share and they were just nasty. So, not impressed with the burgers, the tacos are awful, they can screw up a salad, let’s try breakfast! I tried the jumbo breakfast platter. The eggs are dry and chewy and they have to come out of a carton. The hash browns are nasty grease filled yuck, the bacon is even off in taste. I didn’t know it was possible for bacon to be bad, but Jack has done that! The little pancakes are good. Obviously frozen, or they have the most amazing pancake chef who can evenly cook every little one. Yesterday while driving by I noticed the waffle breakfast sandwich. This morning, once again, I decided to give them a chance to impress me. I posted a picture of my grease logged hash brown that either someone decided to take a piece off to settle a growling tummy or the manager is such a food cost Nazi the workers feel they have to serve mutilated, poor quality product. I would bet on the later. The sandwich was an attempt in the right direction. Although the eggs on it are also dry and chewy, the sausage was good and the waffle bread was good, but needed more of a maple syrup taste. Price is inline with other fast food chain burger joints. Service is friendly and efficient. Overall, if you want mini pancakes, bacon cheddar fries, or a well calibrated soda, this is a good option, anything else is a bad choice. Otherwise they really need to focus on quality, starting with the vendors and products corporate chooses and their cooking procedures. Oh! The clown! The clown rocks! The clown is much cooler than that other clown! I can understand why he hides behind that big head though with the food they serve.

Well i was part of group that ate raw meat in the 80’s from jitb. I had the american burger and it was good and done. I also ordered egg roles thought i would try something different. Mistake they were almost uneatable. Very over cooked. I will not be back McD makes better burgers and for less.

I went to the VIP pre-grand opening. The experience was cool, all free and very freshly prepared. I thought I had found a new favorite. 2nd time there, about a month later; food was disgusting. I will never be returning. I gave away my VIP10% off card. Stay away. Taco bell is better if you want drunk food. IMO.

All right, I’ve tried it again based on my 2-times rule. This time I actually got inside the door(I hate drive thru windows with a passion), so that was neat. The inside is clean and bright, and the staff at the counter are friendly. The food is still the same — typical fast food… nothing very special. Here is one problem though — they have a manager who works in back who was constantly shouting. I was only inside for like 5 minutes and she permeated the entire experience. She just kept shouting at the prep line to do stuff and go faster and remember special orders. I looked around and every time we heard her yell, I saw peoples faces just grimace. Really a very unpleasant experience to have a manager shouting every 20 – 30 seconds and permeate the entire building. They need to get her to quiet down or just get rid of her, because I’d really hesitate to step back inside knowing she might be there… and I don’t do drive thru windows. So, put those together…

I like fast food and this is good fast food, but what really makes Jack In The Box so worthwhile? Breakfast… available 24 hours a day. So hypothetically if I work my normal job and then possibly work a side job and don’t feel like going home and cooking, but might want a nice sausage and egg croissant at 9:30 in the evening… that option is there. And I’ll take it.
