When walking in no one will greet you, then once seated it took more than 5 min to get someone to notice we were in their section. We were one of six tables filled in the restaurant. When the manager approached us he asked if we needed a minute to look. We ordered food and drinks at the same time. We set a timer out of curiosity. Took 15 min to get our food. After the food was on the table our server (the manager) didn’t come by once to check on us. Had to beg another server to get refills. Don’t ruin your previous thought of steak n shake with this poor excuse of one.

This was a poor decision on an otherwise busy Saturday night. The service was lackluster despite it being fairly slow, though it did get busier as the meal progressed. The water came out in a plastic cup ever so slightly larger than a shot glass (4 refills were needed :-/​). A double steakburger was ordered with a fried egg and it came without the egg. The seasoning added to the fries was a delicate dash of innocuousness. Even the nacho cheese sauce that is normally awesome for dipping the fries in was sub-​par. The most disappointing was the red velvet shake… it was as though they took a quarter slice of red velvet cake, mixed it with a vanilla shake, and decided to call it a red velvet shake… the whip cream was the best part *sad times*. Not sure if it’s just this location or Steak n shake in general, but this was a very unimpressive visit to say the least.

Nice shakes, nice burgers, nice interior. The service was pretty good too, although some enthusiasm might help out a little bit. ;) I recommend you try this place out, I should be back soon.

First time I had been to a steak and shake in years! It was just as good as the first time I came in. So much fun to order a classic burger and shake with friends.
Service was good. Cashier allowed me to upgrade my shake for free. They offer a-​la-​cart burgers which is nice so I could try a few different items. I rarely go to fast food, so when I do, I don’t mind pigging out. It was great.

I do not recommend this restaurant. The waitress’s shirt was dirty like she wore it for days, she started the conversation with us by saying «I don’t do breakfast well» the food took 40 minutes to get and it was cold. We had to almost beg for coffee. We will never come back here.

Stealing from your customers is unacceptable. We had a coupon that the server added to ticket after we received the bill, that’s okay it’ll be done at the register, right? When the manager closed out my tab he gave only coin, while my change should have been $ 2.xx. He then sat two dollar bills on his side of the register. I’m sure I looked confused so he asked if I needed a receipt and befuddled I said «no» I returned to the table to discuss this’s with my dining companion. The server overheard our conversation and confirmed the manager in question did indeed skim and from her tips as well. No matter the quality of food or service, unacceptable. Will not return without a police escort

Good food and atmosphere. However, the manager will skim off the top when giving change to the customer. We will not return, but if you go, double count your change before leaving.

Did you receive the Steak ‘n Shake coupons in the mail? Here’s a tip for ya: Throw them away. We bought «to go» food this evening and it was nasty. Gross. I tried the Chili Mac Supreme because we had a coupon and hubby got some kind of bacon burger. The chili mac thing was very small, but that actually turned out to be a blessing since it tasted so awful. GREASY! Leaves a greasy feeling all over your tongue and mouth, and the chili is disgusting tasting. A dinner salad came with it and it wasn’t much to write home about. David’s burger was dry. And all this after waiting an immense length of time in the «fast» food lane. We will never go back. Grody, icky, yucky food. So disappointed.

This is a good Steak N Shake with a horrible location. Hiden behind other businesses and trees, it is really easy to miss. Whoever decided on this location did the store and their sales a disfavor.
They have good burgers although a little overcooked a lot. It seems like everything is always prepared fresh as there is a little wait. That is fine by me. The chili is a little weird. I don’t care for the taste of it alone, but it works well as a sauce on the chili mac. The shakes are pretty good and handmade.
The fries suck. I know a lot of people like the toothpicks they call fries, but not me. I like a nice meaty fry that is crispy on the outside. These are so thin there is no way to get a crisp and meaty combination. They are not even acceptable for dipping in a shake. Skip the fries and get onion rings, you will be much happier!
The staff is always friendly and welcoming.
Good fast food if you can find it.

I am invisible. The staff cannot see me, so after waiting for 10 minutes I left. I am also pretty stupid… I really like Steak and Shake, so I came back for the same treatment twice before giving up altogether.
The restaurant and staff are really quite dirty and unkempt. I’m not sure how they pass a health inspection with the dirt and litter all over the kitchen area.

I never really experienced great service here, but the food is awesome. It is like the same price as Wendy’s but you can get food that is actually freshly prepared. I admit there is no reason the steak fries would ever be «famous» but they are good with a side of my fave food item: cheese sauce. They also have a drive-​thru if you want to go in your PJs, if you do that sort of thing.
The sliders & Frisco melt are the best!

This Steak N Shake is great. The one is Mission is terrible. Always go to this one in Olathe.
The food is fresh and fast and has one of the best hot dogs in town. The Guac Dog and Chicago Dog are my favorites.
Your order comes with either shoestring fries of onion rings. I would recommend the onion rings they are super Yummy and Dairy free.
The burgers and good and they have a delicious steak soup full of veggies which I love to order in the winter, just like Mom used to make.
I go here at least once a month and meet a friend here for lunch. We always get in right away and the service is fast and friendly. The manager is a hoot and will take care of you if there is an issue.
They actually have a fairly large menu with many selections.
I always feel like I have stepped back in time to the 50’s when we go here. The look of the place and menus just makes you think American Graffiti.

Shakes Are always good.
We always come with a coupon either out of Sunday paper or Entertainment Guide.
My wife loved the Mushroom and Swiss burger.
Service is usually good.
The kids love this place!

I come here about twice a month, and I’m never disappointed. The food is ALWAYS fresh and tasty. I don’t think I’ve ever received an incorrect order. I only go through the drive-​thru, so I can’t comment on the service inside, but the drive-​thru workers are always very friendly. It’s not as fast as some other fast food places, but it’s worth waiting to actually get HOT food. The shakes are also very good, and they are half-​price from 2 – 4 pm on weekdays!

Once again it was a show. lol Got a great big welcome from the manager at the window. Roomie says, «that’s just not normal…» lol
I suppose the worker couldn’t figure out my order on the screen. So manager steps in to help make my side by side. I couldn’t help but just laugh at the whole soap opera taking place.
Smiles and yummy treats. Can’t go wrong.

It had been at least 20 years since I had been to a Steak N Shake restaurant, but we took the kids last night and really enjoyed it. The burgers were terrific, the service was great and the shakes were wonderful. I had the dark chocolate shake, which included min chocolate chips throughout. We also loved the shoestring potato fries. Certainly won’t wait another 20 years to go back!
