This was standard Americanized Chinese food in a clean comfortable environment. I enjoyed reading the letter in the front of the menu about the owner who is a trained chef. Atmosphere: Clean, crisply decorated with an Asian bistro theme. They do a lot of takeout, but the place doesn’t feel like a Chinese takeout/fast food joint Food: I was here for lunch so I tried the Generals Tso’s lunch special for under $ 6.(Not exactly adventurous, but it’s a good baseline to compare against other Chinese places). The hot sour soup came out first with a bowl of the crunchy noodles. Not long after, the entrée came out. Fried rice was tasty, about as expected. Chicken was crispy and glazed. Plus a couple florets of steamed broccoli and an egg roll(could have went with Crab Rangoon as other choice). Next time I’d order it with white meat and I’ll ask them to make it spicier. Price: most lunch combos are under $ 6. Overall: 4 out of 5. Good food at a great place in a clean comfortable atmosphere. Overall, it was pretty good. Better than average Chinese takeout, not quite as good as Bo Lings, but less expensive than Bo Lings too.

Excellent lunch specials for under $ 6. Decent sized portions and good quality food. Service was exceptional and none of our drinks were ever even near empty. I could go for a little more rice and a little less chicken, but I will definitely be back. Excellent quality food for fast food prices.

Nice little restaurant. Service is exceptional. I had the Mongolian Beef and it tasted muy Bueno. Fried rice is fair. Hot and Sour soup is not too bad. Prices are good, not many pesos, if you get my expression. Plus, they serve Chin Dog beer, which quenches my thirst. Very nice place for a pretty good meal at a good price.

Great lunch spot. General Tso’s Chicken and Hunan Beef are solid, along with the soup and crab rangoon. I wish they provided a little more rice, but that’s a small complaint.

The food is great, and the staff is extremely friendly. I visit there often, with most orders being to-go. Soup is always hot, and rice is cooked perfectly.

Yum! Would probably give this 3.5 stars for flavor if I could, but since this was some of the best Chinese food for pickup I’ve had, I’ll happily up it to four. Tons better than the HyVee across the street and the ambience is much nicer than most Chinese restaurants I’ve ordered from(the restaurant part is actually quite nice). We have a family of six, with four children 8 and under. We ordered two orders of the chicken lo mein, and an order each of szechuan beef, sweet and sour pork and General Tso’s chicken. We ordered fried rice with our entrees and also ordered crab rangoons and the fried chicken wings for appetizers. We have TONS left over and we are hearty eaters. My little children adored the lo mein and the rice and the crab rangoons and ate all of one serving of the noodles and a spoonful or two of the second with lots left over for tomorrow. I ordered the Szechuan Beef and it was okay, surprisingly had decent veggies including carrots and zucchini along with peppers and onions, but I felt it wasn’t as spicy as I would have liked, which was the majority of the reason I ordered it. My husband liked the sweet and sour pork but we both agreed that the star of the night was the General Tso’s chicken and the fried chicken wings. The General Tso’s was nice and crispy(hurray! Not soggy from steam at all) and well spiced. Gives me courage to try another chicken variety next time. The crab rangoons were good, they were«as they ought to be» according to my husband, but the fried chicken wings were super delish. They had a very light dusting of flour(rice flour?) and seasoned lightly with five spice powder. Crispy and hot and tasty. Yum. And our order was ready in about 15 minutes. This place is only about a three minute drive from my house. We will definitely be ordering again.

You received a ton of food for a great price! The crab rangoon’s and the shrimp fried rice are some of the best I have ever had. We called it in during their dinner rush and the food was ready in 10 minutes. The staff is also very friendly.

Steaming Mongolian Beef is a must — good amount of spice and tender meat. The service is excellent — friendly staff. No wonder people kept coming back. They also open during major/public holidays when most other places are closed.

After reading the reviews, I was eager to try this restaurant’s fare. I am a native Southern Californian who grew up with Cantonese food and later Schezuan and Mandarin. The General Tso’s chicken was a mixture of dark meat and breast meat. The two have slightly different flavor and much different texture making the dish inconsistent. The chicken pieces lacked caramelization and had a thin soggy coating and lots of liquid in the bottom. A failure. The combination lo-mein resembled spaghetti pasta with very little seasoning and lacked the smoky flavor of a good wok prepared noodle dish. Another failure. Given the moderately high price for the food quantities and the poor food quality, I will be avoiding this restaurant in the future and recommend others do the same.

I loved the Vegetable Fried Rice! It was so good and was a very large portion. I ate on it for a few days after having it fresh! My friend picked it up for me and I will for sure go back to this place and try more of their authentic yummy food!

Being new to the Olathe area from Omaha Nebraska our first order of business besides unpacking was to find restaurants to replace our old favorites back home. Well… we found our new go to Chinese Cuisine. Even though it was take out I will say the greeting I received as I walked into the restaurant was very friendly and it stayed friendly the entire time. The food was excellent and not sure if I should share this but we got two free egg rolls marked free on them. So we know it was intentional. The kids loved their sweet and sour chicken. My daughter did say she wished the sweet and sour sauce was a little bit thicker but it didn’t stop her from eating all of it. I got the beef lo mein and it was perfect. I cannot wait to try it next time and dine in! Thank you so much for giving us a taste of home here in Olathe! It was an amazing experience.

This is the place to eat if you want outstanding service, and delicious consistent food. They have a cost effective lunch menu that will not disappoint. I usually get the Chicken and Vegetables which comes with choice of soup, crab rangoon or egg roll and choice of rice. I also tried the steamed dumplings and they were incredible. I was told they do a great job on carry out also. If you like chinese food do not pass this place up!

OK here are the 1−2-3s for Jasmine Pavilion: #1) This is affordable Chinese, so do not expect large portions or the best Chinese you have ever tasted. They simply do prefect portion sizes, fresh and above average food. You could eat here a couple times a month and not break the bank and leave knowing you had a better tasting meal then Panda Express or Hy-Vee Chinese. #2) Service is incredibly good. My water was never empty and they filled it without asking if I wanted another. Server was kind and courteous and never once did I feel we were waiting on them for something. #3) The space is nice but small. There were not a lot of people there when we visited but they sat us right next to someone. I felt like we were ease-dropping on their conversation all night. Also their windows face the Peachwave next door, at first the little kids making faces at us from Peachwave were funny, but quickly it turned annoying. They may need to invest in some window treatments. We will visit again… because above average Chinese food matched with great service is hard to come by in JOCO.

Decided to try out a new Chinese joint, as the Americanized stuff around here is generally«blah». I called and ordered a dinner combo with Mongolian beef, which came with crab rangoon and egg roll, with choice of fried or white rice(chose fried, despite my usual love of white rice). I asked if the Mongolian beef came with green onions, and she said«yes, green and yellow». Since I lovvvve green but hate all other onions, I asked for no yellow onions, and she asked if I wanted another veggie to sub in. That was unexpected and awesome, so I asked for broccoli. The food itself was fine — the beef itself tasted of so-so quality, but the sauce was good, and the broccoli was a nice addition. Fried rice wasn’t great. The egg roll was awesome, and the crab rangoon was good(but I’m generally not a huge rangoon fan). It’s a candidate for future visits when I’m craving some Americanized stuff, but it’s not amazing. 3.5 stars, I’ll round it to 4 for the service.

My boyfriend and I went there for dinner after I got off work. We did the dinner special, he got impressive shrimp while I got general tso’s chicken. The dishes décor was delish and the quantity was quaint, nice prices. Got complementary watermelon as well, a sweet gesture. The interior is really pretty and close to my house so that’s a bonus. Will be back :)

I thought this place would have better food for how much they hype up the chef. It was definitely good for the price, but it tasted like your typical Chinese place. We ordered take out, so didn’t really have a chance to see what the service is like. As a frequent Chinese food diner, I would prefer Golden Palace to this place. Their prices are a little bit cheaper, but the food is much better. Especially the hot and sour soup!

The lunch hour seems to be the hardest place for me to find food. It’s probably because there aren’t many choices down south in Johnson County. When I heard about a new Chinese restaurant that had opened, I was very interested. When I saw the lunch special prices, I knew I had to try it. Just jump to Jasmine Pavilion’s website and check out their menu and prices. Who wouldn’t want to a $ 5-$ 6 dish with soup and crab rangoon/egg roll? I also found that it was a family owned restaurant with the head chef being co-owner. The food was, as this rating shows, A-OK. It’s a very standard Chinese restaurant with standard flavor profiles. I was very pleased with the Hot & Sour soup as it had a delicious salty and sour taste. They also do not skimp out on the meat. The egg rolls served with the lunch special was also quite delicious. I was amazed that it had pieces of meat in there and the wrapper tasted much like a fried wonton wrapper, none of that weak flour wrapper stuff you get at Panda Express. I ordered the Szechuan shrimp and overall it was okay. It wasn’t outrageously delicious and wasn’t disgusting. I decided to order steamed dumplings(6 pieces) as the picture caught my eye. It was a little dry and the wrapper was somewhat dense. The meat was pretty good and the sauce made it better. Service was decent and pretty quick, always a plus for the lunch hour. The place is relatively small though with maybe 12 – 14 tables. They did a pretty good job making the place look modern and it was a very clean restaurant. If you live or work around 151st Street and craving some low priced but good Chinese food, I would definitely recommend Jasmine Pavilion.
