This is a very nice restaurant. Hubby and I had a meal here a couple of months ago, on an impromptu no kid/date day. If you’ve never had Sake before but want to try it, do so here but beware, Sake is STRONG! Do not be fooled by the small cups and the warmth of it. The food was pretty decent, cost was average. Try it out! It’s something different.

They have a great menu of Sushi to choose from and cocktails! I had the Colordragon roll(it has eel on it, which I love) and the Blueberry Mojito. We were seated right away and our server was very attentive. I also started off with the house salad which has that ginger dressing and it was the BEST ginger dressing that I have ever had. My friend and I literally wanted to drink it out of our bowls! Lol

I went here with my husband for date night and it was so tasty! I got the Teriyaki Steak(one of my favorite things) and he got the Sesame Chicken(also really good). We enjoyed the sushi sampler appetizer, and also some hot sake. Really good, and the décor is super cute. We’ll definitely be going back!

This is by far one of my favorite sushi places. Their food is made with quality ingredients. The staff is always nice and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxing and the restaurant is always very clean.

Bad. That’s really the only word I have for tonight. Ordered online as we have dozens of times and went to pick it up. There was a lot of confusion about our order but my husband was finally able to retrieve the correct order and we headed home. I had ordered a Wildcat roll, two Philadelphia rolls with fresh salmon instead of smoked, spicy tuna roll, salmon nigiri and yellowtail nigiri. First, the rolls were small. FAR smaller than any we have ever had from here. My husband even asked where the rest of our order was when I pulled it out of the bag. Both of our Philadelphia rolls had smoked salmon instead of fresh. Blech! The quality of the fish was just terrible, also. So disappointing! We used to love this place and tonight was enough to prompt us to find someplace new. Sushi is too expensive to be this bad… we won’t be back.

Food was great, service so so, think the bartender was new. We found the restaurant on Unilocal and thought it was actually a hibachi grill, but they do not cook in front of you, but in the kitchen. I might consider going again if I am in town.

One of my favorite places for sushi!(I’ve never had anything else) Every time I’ve been the servers have been very attentive. But don’t set at the bar to wait for your table if you aren’t going to order an alcoholic beverage! She was not happy that we only wanted soda. We ended up not getting any soda because she never came back with it… But, Sushi is really fresh and super yummy & servers are great so that makes up for the rude bartender!

Location-4 Stars Quality-4 Stars Atmosphere– 3 Stars Menu– 3 Stars Price– 4 Stars Presentation — 5 Stars Would I go again? Yes What would I have? I would probably try dinner with my husband. The restaurant is located on Strang line Road, just off of I 35. I had a fairly tough time finding it, so hope this helps… It is near the AMC theater, right behind Joe’s crabshack. The most amazing thing about Sake Lounge is the presentation of the food. They do beautiful Japanese drawings with sauce on each plate and then delicately garnish it with a fresh orchid. My son and I tried two different appetizers. The first one, the Rock shrimp tempura was very simply presented in a bowl with a sweet-and-sour dipping sauce. The second appetizer was a modern twist on the classic egg roll. Spinach and goat cheese egg rolls, served over an artistically painted passionfruit design. As beautiful to look at as they were yummy to eat. The lunch special offers you a choice of either the 2 roll lunch for $ 8.95 or 3 rolls for $ 11.95. Both options are served with your choice of soup or salad. There are several different rolls to choose from. The categories are divided into«raw» or «cooked» rolls. I definitely think this would make a fun date night location. The food is beautifully presented, adorned with orchids and the unique Japanese designs painted on the plates. So, whether it’s a quick lunch with friends or a romantic dinner before a movie at the AMC theater, it’s Sushi worth a try.

We have been here 3 times on Friday or Saturday nights and have never had to wait. I do not understand why this place isn’t very busy or packed; prices and food quality/presentation are excellent! Onion soup is fantastic(and how can you go wrong for $ 2)? My partner always gets sushi(she had volcano roll this time); I always get Hibachi or traditional Thai or Chinese. I cannot comment on the sushi quality, I’m not experienced there; but the dishes I have gotten each time had excellent flavor and portion size. Servers are friendly enough and we just haven’t had anything but good experiences here! Just to give a very rough idea of prices, for my lighter-eating gf and my gluttonous self, a small sushi meal, a much larger hot food dish, a couple of soups and water get us out of here full or stuffed for $ 30 plus tip. If I were a sushi eater it would be closer to $ 40 or $ 50.

I’ve been here twice and had a good experience. The restaurant is set up weird. You walk in straight into the bar, with no signs to tell you if there is a hostess stand or if it’s seat yourself. The first time I came, the bartender(after a couple of minutes of standing there like an idiot) told us to seat ourselves. Our waiter wasn’t notified of our arrival, and therefore was slow to start. But she was apologetic and was really great. The sushi we ordered that night was quick, fresh and pretty decent. We went again a couple of nights ago. Again the bartender had to direct us, except this time she told us to go to the other side of the restaurant to the hostess stand. We didn’t even know there was another side, so we wandered over and were seated promptly. Our server was very nice and the food came out quickly. I ordered the tom yum seafood soup and it was great. Reminded me of the soup my mom used to make when I was a kid. I’ll definitely be coming back for this when I get a craving. The sushi menu is pretty big and has some rolls/combinations that others do not so that’s always a plus. The ones we ordered were fresh and arrived to our table quickly. They were pretty good, though not the best I’ve ever had. Overall, we liked the restaurant and will be back.

A pretty good sushi place with enough variety and good ambiance. The food… a pretty decent sushi place. They don’t have a lot of the more unique items like Uni or Toro, but you’ll find all the usual items here(probably catering more to the regular audience). They have lunch specials(which I’ve never tried), some very good happy hour specials, and a good selection of rolls and mixed sushi or sashimi platters. I wasn’t the biggest fan of some of the appetizers though, if you’re looking for just another flavor to your meal, it might be worth it, but I would recommend just getting an extra entrée/roll/etc… The venue… the ambiance is pretty good, the restaurant is split into two sections; one section is for the bar/sit-down and the other is purely sit down and sushi bar. They also have a private party room if you have a large group. It can get busy, so you might get stuck waiting at the bar for a table. However, there are TVs and beer to keep you company so it could definitely be worse. Overall… worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Disclaimer: We did go on a Sunday lunch when there was only one other table I had planned for us to meet some friends for sushi, but had failed to look at what days our favorite sushi place is open, only looking at their hours. So, last minute, we decided on Sake. The atmosphere was nice, but everything else seemed mediocre at best. Our service was a little slow. It wasn’t «wait half an hour for your check» slow, but drinks were sitting empty a little longer than I feel is acceptable when we’re one of two tables filled. Also, probably setting the stage for my lack of enthusiasm for the food, my glass had a big chunk of something white on the inside of it leftover from the dishwasher. I try to be tolerant of occasional dishwashing misshaps, but I feel like in a place that specializes in serving raw fish the bar should be set a little higher. The sushi wasn’t bad. My fiancé said she thought it was okay, and my friends seemed enthusiastic about it, but I wasn’t impressed. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing impressed either.

Really good lunch here. Seated quickly, waitress was very attentive. Green tea is very good, had at least 3 refills. Miso soup was ok, lots of seaweed. Had seaweed salad, was ok. Wished it had some sesame seeds, and was just all seaweed, and no cucumbers underneath. Makes it seem like a rip off at $ 6.75, to me. Lunch rolls are a good deal, very fresh and tasty. Red snapper roll was good, absolutely loved the yellowtail scallion roll. Friend had 2 lunch rolls and the salad with ginger dressing. She was super happy. It’s her regular sushi place. Had gluten free soy sauce, a plus. Very large menu, large sake menu as well. Very interested in coming back for all you can eat sushi on Mondays. Sushi chefs warmly said goodbye in our way out. Restaurant is well decorated, updated, and very clean. Will definitely be back.

I met some friends here recently to watch a Chief’s game. Now before you think, «what a strange place to watch a sports game», I must tell you that Sake Lounge advertised happy hour throughout the game, and there are 3 tvs in the lounge, and not crowded at all. We were quite pleased with our experience overall. My friend and I partook in many sake bombs, custom made by ourselves, by ordering Sake(happy hour) and Sapporo,(not happy hour). We ordered crab rangoons(good) and lots of sushi, which varied, but was above average overall. I love spicy tuna, but I did not find the spicy tuna roll or the Spicy Girl Roll particularly spicy. I had a bite of the Shaggy Dog Roll, shrimp tempura, topped with spicy kani and shrimp and eel sauce, and it was delicious! I also had the Rainbow roll, which was fresh, moist, and delicious, and overall my favorite roll. I think they do an all-day happy hour on Monday, but please call and verify before you take my word for it. Even though my go to roll(spicy tuna) was average, the overall experience was great, and I would definitely go back for happy and hour the Rainbow Roll.

I hate that each experience here is so different. I rarely make updates while I’m still in the restaurant but here I am incredible annoyed by the food and service. We like to come during happy hour because of the great deals. We usually order the Thai pineapple shrimp in addition and that has goes downhill with each visit. On this last visit instead of trying to correct my dish, the waitress told me that’s how it is supposed to taste. No, I always order this dish and it is NOT supposed to taste like that. I don’t complain to get my food free, I complain because I work hard for money to just waste it on junk. If we ever decide to come back it will be a long time and I will have to be super desperate.

We had an excellent experience here. After waiting maybe two minutes to be seated(a wait for which they apologized), we studied the menu which is FULL of sushi options as well as entrees for the less adventurous. The outside of the building is not too exciting, but the interior is nicely decorated with tables and booth benches of, apparently, bamboo. We tried the avocado salad which was topped with at least half of a sliced avocado. The miso soup was solid, and the seafood hot and sour soup was tasty. Crab Rangoons were tasty, light on crab, but filled with a pleasant cream cheese sauce. The fabulous part of the meal was the entrees. Hubby had the Spicy Girl sushi(see picture) which was gorgeous and tasty and included real wasabi. I had the General Tso’s which was actually SPICY! And had a great flavor. We look forward to coming back.

Best sushi experience in KC so far. I loved all of the options they provided(including a sushi boat) but we ended up going with a few server recommendations. They were all fantastic. Hidden away in an Olathe strip mall, this is where I will return whenever I want sushi!

This sushi restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside is very trendy. This was my first visit. Prices of the rolls were comparable to other sushi places in town. We walked in without a reservation and was seated immediately. Waters were refilled quickly throughout our meal. I took one star because they forgot our crab rangoons and it came after our sushi. Pretty disappointed. They also didn’t have any crab meat in it whatsoever. Omg! The sushi presentation was the best I’ve had in the area. It had a lights, banana leaves, flowers, etc. I loved it! The sushi was very good. We had spicy girl, iron man, and #1 Yum yum roll. The #1 was the best one, in my opinion. For the rolls, crab Rangoon, and 1 onion soup(no drinks), it came out to around $ 54 not including tip.

Came in Monday for my birthday and All You Can Eat Sushi. We went in the lounge area, but quickly got redirected to the sushi side and got to enjoy a nice evening. The all you can eat option wasn’t advertised, but thanks to Unilocal,we asked and got to enjoy it. It was advertised soup and salad, but our waitress would only allow us one. I had the salad and the ginger dressing was amazing! I had 2 rolls and my SI had 4… which I ended up eating half of his last roll to make sure we didn’t get charged $.50 per piece. It all came out on a sushi boat and looked great. Taste was good as well, except the hot & spicy roll wasn’t hot or spicy, but it was still good. The waitress forgot a roll, but realized it when she went over which roll was which and got it for us right away. Had a great time and had great sushi!
