I’ve been here multiple times since they started serving sandwiches. I can confidently say that this was a very bad move, because their service just gets worse every time I come here, and today was the last time i will ever step into another Sheridan’s restaurant. My mother and I ordered something simple, just a Tilapia sandwhich, a chicken sandwhich(not the combos), and a concrete. When I pulled up to the window and paid(an astounding $ 17 — really!!!), I was not given a receipt and had to ask for it before I left. They handed me my concrete first, on a 94 degree summer day, while sitting in direct sunlight, I would have figured they’d used common sense and given it to me last. It took them another 10 minutes to get our sandwiches out, and by that time we had had to nearly finish our custard because it was melting quickly.(I’m not a fan of eating quickly, especially sweets) When we finally got our food and receipt, we headed home, only to discover the mistake we had made by ordering from this restaurant. My mother’s sandwich was basically just a watery — yes, watery, when she picked it up, it was dripping — chicken strip between two smashed buns and wilted lettuce. My sandwich, which had been advertised as a fish FILLET, was literally two fish sticks I could’ve bought at Walmart and heated in my microwave. Now how is that organic? How is that fresh? How is that worth $ 10?! How!!!

I’ve tried really hard to like the new version of Sheridans, but I think I’ve given up. I love your custard, but your new«restaurant» is LOUD! It’s difficult to carry on a conversation with anyone and your service is sooooo poor. Very rarely do I get a thank you and it takes forever to get a concrete. The service is horrible!!! I miss the old walk up windows. I don’t need a place to get a burger, I just want my old Sheridans back. I’ve given up on you and will find a new place for concrete. So disappointed.

Love the concretes — I haven’t tried non-dessert options.

I love sheridans! Their lunch combo of burger, fries, and a drink for $ 5 is amazing! Soft, fresh bun with real veggies and the truffle fries are great! Plus you can’t go wrong with any of their frozen custard items for dessert!

They have a wonderful peppermint mocha for the Holiday season. I never know when their holiday season starts. I stopped by today to order a peppermint mocha. I was told they are still on «fall» drinks not Christmas. Way to go terrible customer service. You know how to make the drink, I would like to order the drink, why not make and sell me the drink???

An uncomfortable hybrid between Unforked and a regular Sheridan’s location. It doesn’t really work. Skip it and proceed to Overland Park.

Extremely sugary when you add toppings in your concrete. I asked for a slice of cheesecake, a slice of wedding cake, and butterfinger pieces added. Unfortunately, when they added these toppings, they literally blended everything together – there were no noticed chunks, just a very thick shake. Would have been tastier if I could chew up my cake pieces…

The Sheridans in Olathe apparently turned into a full fledged restaurant while I wasn’t looking but I’m not that impressed with the food. I miss being able to walk up to the counter on a hot summer night and get my Grant’s Grasshopper or my Wedding Cake concrete. Now instead, it’s all closed in with floor to ceiling windows that face West. Don’t eat in here at sunset, it’s hot and blinding. However, their custard cannot be beat. They have a great variety of flavors and concretes and toppings and coffee drinks and… they just make it all and it’s all enough to put you in a diabetic coma but it’s delicious. If you’re not familiar with custard, it’s like ice cream but made also with eggs. Plus less air is whipped out so it’s denser and creamier than ice cream. Add some fruit or chocolate or nuts or fudge and it’s a match made in heaven. The quality of custard at this place alone saves it from anything less than 3 stars. I just don’t recommend their food. It’s expensive and not the best.

This place is really trying. Everything was top of the line and fresh. Minus 1 star for the prices(this is a burger joint not a sit down fancy steak place after all!). I tried the vegetarian option since it was more interesting than the usual veggie patty. Here they grill a portabella mushroom and top it with cheese and roasted brussel sprouts topped with a thai sweet & hot chili sauce. The brioche bun was a nice touch. Made for a fun mix of flavors and textures, I recommend trying it when you want a trek off the beaten path. Truffle fries tasted like garlic fries to me, nothing out of the ordinary other than they are hand made.

It always takes at least 20 minutes to get anything from here. Usually something in the order isn’t right. For food that is so expensive — the wait time /customer service should be a little better. I feel like waiting 30 min in a drive through should merit you a free something?! …when they finally brought our one burger out they tried to patch it up with a coupon for free fries WITH a purchase. Not the best damage control.

You get a generous portion of fries for $ 2, something I love! I prefer to skip the salt since there’s already other seasons thrown in. The custard is good, my favorite is vanilla with mango and avocado and Sheridan’s is the only place that carries them! I haven’t tried any of their meals yet and most likely won’t any time soon since the price is a bit high compared to other places. But overall a nice place for custard!

I’ll be honest. My review would be closer to a 4 star rating if: — The food was hot on a regular basis — The drive thru on the weekends did not take up to 30 minutes to get through — The hamburger patties were not so thin and ¾ the size of the bun that they are on — More often than not there would be an adult on duty to deal with any issues that come up. Telling a teenager about your issue with an order usually results in a blank stare. The food is good. It tastes good. The custard is awesome. But this location needs improvement if it is going to be successful.

Dear Sheridans, I really like you. My burger was great and the fries were hand cut and awesome and that custard shake was divine. But my pocket book reminds me of the other Custard shops in town that are a few dollars less. A single patty hamburger(no cheese), regular fries and a regular shake comes to $ 12. The«others» would be about $ 8 for the same thing. I will probably be back for the custard and skip the meal next time. Sincerely, Kevin T.

We had a groupon for 4 meals so the hubby and kids and I headed down on a Sunday afternoon. The fries are amazing. The sandwiches are pretty good too but honestly they are pretty skimpy — very skinny meat patties. I had the chicken sandwich and it was the thinnest little chicken breast I’ve ever seen. Since we only paid about $ 16 for all of our meals on the groupon that isn’t so bad but if I had paid twice that price I might be a little upset about the lack of protein. We skipped dessert since the kids have given up sweets for Lent :-(

So it seems like Sheridans is going the route of trying to keep up with it’s competitors(Freddy’s, Culver’s), by branching outside of custard. This location is the first one I’ve been to that now has an indoor dining room and is serving food(burgers/sandwiches/fries). I wasn’t sure what do think, as I really enjoyed walking up to the blinding white that was the walk up window. Then again getting to eat inside during the heat of the summer was nice too. The product is good as I feel Sheridan’s is the standard in our city for frozen custard. However the menu feels old and busted. I don’t think it’s really changed in years. All in all I would say go for it and let Unilocal’ers know what you think. Do you like the new Sheridans or do you prefer the old Sheridans?

An Olathe classic! I love their concrete. I usually order a strawberry cookie dough concrete. They mix fresh strawberries and cookie dough pieces to vanilla ice cream and mix it up. So good! I know it sounds crazy, but you have to give it a try :)

How could someone rate this place anything below five stars! The best flipping frozen custard in the world! Unfortunately the nearest one of these in my city is three hours driving… We’ll have to change that Seattle WA!

I’ve only been to Sheridans, in general, a few times in my 10+ years in the KC area. I’ve always found it «okay», but not great. When living in Lawrence, I would always choose Sylas and Maddy’s instead… and in Olathe, the same. It’s just better. But my wife and I decided to check out the Sheridans that’s somewhat near our house. It’s…interesting. I’m used to Sheridans being«order from the outside» in format, but this one is an actual interior. I am not sure if it’s new, but it smells like wood, and seems unfinished. I sure hope it’s new… but I feel like it’s not? The woman was friendly enough. The ice cream was fine — my wife had a sundae, and I had an ice cream with cookie type thing. The frozen custard(not ice cream… whatever, I’ll interchange those terms, sue me) is good, but nothing phenomenal. The menu is small. I’ll keep going to Sylas and Maddys just a few minutes up Mur-Len.
