What A Find… We were in the area visiting and happen to stumble upon this little joint, and glad we were so much so that we now drive 30 min to eat here. This is a family owned little restaurant with about 10 table, and a NYC apt sized kitchen but BOY can they whip out some top notch food. We went for the much raved and suggested British Banger Mash, The Lumberjack along with pancakes and pirogies, too much, nhaa I don’t think, then comes out the food and I Think So Too much. Lets get the irrelevant items out of the way 1. Lumberjack was meh nothing to complaint but nothing to praise either. 2. pirogies, they being sort of house speciality I expected em to blow my mind off but that did not happen, at least not yet 3. Pancake now there are some good pancakes, can give any pancake house run of the money. So that leaves us with the Star of Night, be prepared to blown away mesmerized blah blah blah. First the size easily comparable to a new born. Then the food… Aaahhh I still dream of it. The crunchy potato pancake stuffed to gills with omelet sausages bacon home fries topped with eggs and cheese god dis i just die and go to food heaven… Well back to reality hope you got the point. You walk out of there with out having the British Banger, basically you going to hell. British Banger Mash remember the name.

Pleasantly surprised! Our new favorite place. Nice portion sizes, wonderful food, nice atmosphere, staff were very friendly. Potatoes could use some seasoning :)

Comfi is right around my neck of the woods and I recently just tried it, after hearing great things from friends. After doing some pre-visit research/homework and seeing the 200+ outstanding reviews for it, I had to ask myself, «why haven’t I been here sooner?!» Thanks Unilocal for helping me realize that I’ve been living under a rock! lol My husband and I looked forward to the Saturday we finally planned to try Comfi. We got here around 9 – 9:30 and the parking lot in the front was full so we parked in the back. As soon as we entered the door, there was a friendly woman taking names. It looked like there was only one family of 3 ahead of us(at least they were the only ones sitting on the bench as soon as you came in), so we opted to wait outside since they had a bench outside as well. We were told the wait would be about 15 minutes and we were seated soon after, close to that estimate. We got a booth towards the back. Our friendly waitress greeted us, handed us our menus, and took our drink orders. Even after studying the menu online pre-visit, it’s a tough choice deciding once you’re there because everything looks delicious. Luckily because of all the reviews I knew that we shouldn’t go crazy ordering, because everyone said how their portions are humungous. My husband ended up ordering the Lumberjack($ 10.95), which consisted of diced Kielbasa, Ham, Bacon, Home Fries, Tomatoes, Onions, and melted Cheddar Cheese, topped with 3 eggs(any style). Because I normally like to have something savory and sweet and my husband already took care of the savory order, I opted for something sweet. I ended up getting the«How Sweet It Is» breakfast special which was French Toast w/Nutella, Bananas, Strawberries, Whip Cream. Boy was everyone right with the portion sizes! When our orders came out(which was fairly quick considering the place was packed and it looked like they had a lot of to-go orders from the looks of our waitress packing to-go boxes from plates straight out of the kitchen), they were huge! We’re usually embarrassed to eat out because we both eat a ton and fast. I thought to myself that if we finish these plates, we’re gonna need to go to Weight Watchers or something ASAP right after and finally get some help! Lol The«How Sweet It Is» was sooo delicious but overly sweet(given that it was Nutella) so I could only have a little bit at a time and so did my husband. What I was surprised about is the Nutella, Strawberries, and Bananas were all throughout between the 3 slices of bread. Normally at other places, I’ve found that the toppings are only on the very top. You really do get your money’s worth! I think between the 2 of us we finished 1.5 slice. Even with my husband’s Lumberjack plate, we probably got through ½ of it and everything was delicious and hit the savory breakfast spot. We weren’t complaining about the left-overs because we knew we had a delicious breakfast for the next day! We’ll definitely be back and I think this will be our go-to brunch spot from now on. I can’t wait to try their other menu items!

First of all. environment of the place= A++! Staff is so friendly and lively and the food is beyond excellent. The chef cooks right behind the counter, which is awesome. However this makes the dining area a bit small, causing there to often be a wait. Nonetheless, this place serves, by far, the best breakfast/lunch around in Old Bridge area. Not to mention the portions are HUGE making the already reasonable prices way more than worth it! Following… NOTE they have much healthier options than the ones in my photos as well; overall huge variety of different foods. Another bonus!

Came here a few times. The place is usually pretty packed and there is a wait, more on the weekends than during the week. First time I ordered the potato pancake and it was HUGE. Can’t say it wasn’t good, but it did come out a bit bland. The second time I came to this venue, I ordered the Hawaiian chicken plate. This entrée was also massive, had enough for the rest of the day. The plate as a whole was a little bland, but then again, what healthy option isn’t. The pineapple gave the plate a little zing which helped it out. Aside from food, the staff is awesome! They are very friendly and constantly check up on you to make sure everything is fine. The prices are relatively cheap given the portion sizes. The wait on weekends definitely is annoying. if you could go during the weekdays to try this place, I would recommend doing that. As I said earlier, don’t order too much, one entrée is more than enough for a person or two!

Wife and I have visited twice. She prefers the French toast over the Pancakes. I loved both the monstrous Banger stuffed Potato Pancake and more recently a new menu item named, PS I Love You. Wow! Be HUNGRY when you come here. The latter, a bit too small to feed a family of 5, is crazy big for 1 — I’m not complaining cause I ate the whole thing and wobbled out. 3 poached eggs on pulled pork, tomato, hollandaise sauce on a giant croissant and breakfast potatoes. The Banger stuffed potato Pancake was a challenge. I was surprised when I called off my attempt at eating the whole thing and the waitress called over the other wait staff amazed at how much I had eaten. «Look! He almost finished it!». I thought I would win a tee shirt or something. No such luck. It was delicious. Be hungry. Expect huge portions. Sides are huge too. Price is right. Food is great. Staff has been very attentive even when things were crazy busy and people were waiting to be seated. Tip:. Get there early or Ask to be seated at the counter and skip the wait when practical We did both times and we were in and out by the time some were being seated. Can’t wait to bring the kids and friends.

Came to Comfi with a friend for lunch after hearing raving reviews from friends! I was not disappointed. The atmosphere was charming and we were greeted by very friendly staff. Even though the place is small in size, we did not wait long for a table. I had a seriously difficult time deciding what to order for lunch as the menu was vast and everything sounded delicious! I landed on the falafel and it was very good. I would have loved a little more variety in the beverage department. A latte or cappuccino would have really made this a perfect lunch. Even so, I will definitely be returning!

Certainly a fun place but ultimately I like quality over quantity. The food sizes were unnecessarily huge and wasteful and they tasted fairly bland. That goes for the potato pancakes, hollandaise sauce and sausage links. They were out of fresh blueberries which we wanted on our pancakes so disappointment here. Pls the service was good but it took a very long time for the food to come out. Great value but slightly below average food.

Excellent, the food is so good here! I couldn’t wait to try it after hearing from a few friends about how great it was. I got the Nutella banana pancakes and eggs and bacon. The pancakes were to die for and each pancake is the size of a dinner plate. My daughter got the kids meal which is huge. We could’ve just split it lol! The eggs were really good, I don’t know where they get them from but they taste so fresh and the yolk was so bright. The homefries are deep fried so they are crispy already. Can’t wait to go for lunch!

Comfi was recommended by close friends and it didn’t disappoint. There were four of us, we waited about 40 minutes for a table but that was expected. Everyone left extremely full and nobody came close to finishing their meals. This may seem like a good thing, but to be honest, it was a overkill on how excessive the protions were to me personally. Service was very good, waitress was very attentive even with a packed house. Now the food… We ordered the following; the Lumberjack, I’m Sexy and I Know It, chicken soup, 2 people shared the British Banger, and the table shared Potato and Cheese Perogies, and a small stack pancakes. Chicken soup was very tasty, but I was thrown off by the chunks of potatoes and the use of spaghetti as the noodles. I enjoyed it, but probably wouldn’t get it again. I’m Sexy and I know it was very very good, but as mentioned before HUGE. British Banger was massive — 2 people didn’t even come close to finishing it. They said it was good, but looked like more of a hangover meal to me then breakfast. The lumberjack looked good, but to be honest my friend who ordered it isn’t the most vocal person, so considering he ate more then half, I’d give that a good review too. Pancakes and perogies got a thumbs up all around, as we all sampled them. All in all, great place for breakfast, and now that we know what we are getting into, we can order smarter next time.

Today was our first visit. The staff was welcoming and our waitress told us all about the restaurant and what to expect. She was as enthusiastic telling us about the place as we were about trying the food. And sitting near the rear by the kitchen made us hungrier due to the smells emanating from the preparation as well as seeing the huge plates of prepared food. My wife ordered something plain but I ordered the Lumberjack, a meatlovers delight. Bacon, ham and kielbasa, mixed with onions, tomatoes, cheese, potatoes and three eggs. I was told the portions were huge and they weren’t kidding! A delicious combination and enough leftover for at least another meal. Definitely want to return to try the homemade potato pancakes and pierogies.

This place was very busy when we arrived. We waited about 15 minutes until we were seated. The restaurant was very small and the staff did a great job of getting people in and out. The food also came out in a timely matter. The menu was filled of interesting dining options with unique names. I had to read all the descriptions for an idea of what I wanted. I decided on the British Banger($ 11.95). This dish was loaded with breakfast items. It was a potato pancake with bangers, ham, bacon, and onions. It was topped with American cheese, tomatoes and eggs. I opted for over-easy eggs. The portion was humongous and a great deal for the price. The potato pancake was a little burnt. The American cheese I thought did not go well with the potato pancake. Everything else about this dish blended well together however. There was just an explosion in the mouth with all the different foods. I rarely say that phrase, but it fits well with this dish. Will I go back? No doubt, so many options I am interested in!

Eggs Benedict was fantastic. Nutella pancakes were okay, not enough Nutella for what I was expecting. As far as breakfast goes I would give this place 4 stars, food is great! But what really kills this place for me is the lack of attention to cleanliness. Chairs were dirty with unidentified liquids splattered all over them, dust in between easily reachable crevices in the bar stools. Windows and doors had finger prints and finger smudges all over them, floor had visible dirt on it that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. Sticky Barney colored tablecloths. I would rather go elsewhere and eat without cringing at the dirtiness.

Holy portions Batman! 30 minute wait on a Sunday morning at 10:30 Small locale, approximately 30 seats in this hidden gem. I went with fellow Unilocalers with the Polish platter, 2 tremendous potato pancakes, 3 potato pierogies, and a beautiful pile of grilled sliced kielbasa… outstanding $ 12.95 and no even I could not finish it. My daughter wanted a kids pancake with nutella and bananas. I believe it was $ 6.95 My wife had the deep fried potato and potato/cheese pierogies… Gorgeous plate and a tremendous value at $ 8.95. Delicious. The falafel platter with French fries was just ok… I cannot wait to go back. Their poached egg platters looked amazing.

Before this review begins, if there is one word to describe this restaurant which is, «QUANTITY.» Now let’s begin. This is tiny breakfast establishment, give a mighty meal to handle any customer who is ready to increase their pant size. I went here with my family and boy we had a lot of left overs. The order I could remember were the mi amor and my dish which was the polish sampler. The polish sampler has 3 potato pancakes, 3 perogies, and kielbasa with a side of sour cream, apple sauce, and tomatoes. The potato pancake and perogies were delightful and very hardy and the kielbasa was nicely fried and was sinfully delicious. Personally I enjoy the mi amor more compare to the polish sampler. It was more balance of taste and texture compare to the sampler, where it was very starchy and greasing. It was still good, but I wish there was something to balance out the fry food.
