From now on Im just going to stick with chipotle. The food at salsaritas is cold… is it supposed to be cold? Almost everything you ask for costs extra and you end up paying $ 10 for a sup par, smaller, chipotle style meal.

A true Chipotle-style wanna be restaurant with high prices, extremely small portions and food which I was not sure what it was… was it chicken or was it pork. The location is great, in a nice plaza, but the quality and menu choices were poor. Food was simply OK… I went there with three people, spend over $ 30 dollars and left hungry… honestly, I would go to Taco Bell for better food, at least I would be full for what I spent. The bowls were so small I thought it was an appetizer… There are better selections in the area… no more Salsaritas., for me…

This is a Chipotle-style Mexican restaurant. It seems like the same thing with different branding, but there are more meal options, more protein options, and more topping/filler options. The chips and guac are muchhhh better than Chipotle. It’s around the same price point. The staff was a bit pushy, however. Cute restaurant with tasty food, but maybe next time I’d get it to go.

Really just not a fan of this place, me and my friend were there and he thought he tasted nuts in his burrito, he’s allergic, my experience was also shitty, my burrito fell apart after my second bite, the rice was undercooked, and for the most part my burrito just didn’t taste good. It’s my opinion, but I have been around the block when it’s come to burritos and I have to give this place a strong thumbs down.

I don’t understand the horrible reviews. I’ve been coming here for years because I live nearby. You must keep in mind you are coming to a ‘fast-food restaurant’. Every time I came here the food was always fresh. My co-workers and I always order from here and we never had any complaints. The food is filling and we always get what we ask for. The reason I’m only giving 3 stars is because some of the workers can be very rude, meanwhile others are very sweet.

If I could, I’d give this place no stars. From the second I walked in, I had a HORRIBLE experience. As I walked up to the counter, the CHILDREN running the joint were whispering to each other and cackling while staring at me. Thought I had something on my face because of how ridiculously rude they were acting. But soon realized while placing my order, that they were just nasty, immature kids. I ordered a burrito. The blonde bimbo behind the counter sloppily threw the ingredients onto the tortilla, rolling her eyes as she went. What happened next I couldn’t believe. With a horrible attitude, she asked what else I wanted. I said CHEESE. I look up and there’s a giant pile of onions on it. I told her I didn’t say onions and she just stared at me for about 5 seconds, turned to her co-worker who started laughing under his breathe, turned back to stare at me, then dumped everything off my burrito and ROLLEDHEREYES. Right at me. I’m sorry you’re too stupid to know what cheese looks like. She then(even sloppier then the first time around) threw the ingredients on and very in appropriately(slowly. as if she were talking to a toddler) asked me what I wanted and if I’m sure I said cheese this time. As if I was the one who messed up the first time. Unbelievable. She then literally threw it onto a tray. Something else I noticed was how unsanitary they were. Another child was«cleaning» the area around the food. She had a wet dirty looking washcloth and was really just wiping the food on the counter back into the food to be served. Why it was wet I have no idea but that’s disgusting. It smelled disgusting in there, too. And finally, the food. I sat down to eat my burrito. When I was done, I felt extremely nauseas. I couldn’t even finish my drink because I thought I was going to puke. The ingredients didn’t look fresh, didn’t taste fresh and made me sick. I don’t want to sound like a miserable, angry person. This place seems to actually have potential. It’s a nice looking atmosphere. I think the person running this place NEEDS to get a new staff. A good staff would keep the place clean, food up to par and greet costumers with courtesy and respect. I almost pissed myself when I saw they had a tip jar by the register. No wonder it was empty. Overall, unless you enjoy rude children who will make you feel extremely uncomfortable while serving you food that was wiped off counters with a mystery wet rag and will make you sick after eating, I do NOT recommend this place.

This chain is filled with promise … but, continues to disappoint. On the surface, this is an addition to the burgeoning trend of «fast casual» Mexican fare(that doesn’t actually serve Mexican fare). In practice, the large, expansive menu doesn’t lend itself to tasty food as items aren’t fresh. The meats are desiccated, the veggies wilted, the sauces covered with dried skins. When building my burrito, the server exclaimed«ooh! I got some on me!» which pretty much sums up the food.

I’ve been several times to this establishment and the quality of the food ranges from awesome to mediocre to just awful. There’s no consistency to the quality ever. The only reason I keep going back is because my fiancé loves the place. The best thing, however, is their chips. The seasoning they use is awesome.

Why? Why do you insist on trying to poison me? Undercooked rice in my burrito bowl. Taco was soggy and fell apart on me. If I had one wish, I’d wish for world peace. If I had two wishes, I’d wish for Chipotle or Baja Fresh to open up in its place. Please, pretty please, close your doors. For the good of mankind. Please.

Eh. Salsarita’s is OK, but no where as good as Qdoba or Chipotle.

I had the pork tacos. They weren’t the best. I wasn’t impressed. I’d rather stick to Chipotle or the divey Mexican spots in Freehold Boro.

i have given this place 3 tries. the first time i was happy. the next two times were atrocious. i got there 45 mins befpre they closed and they were out of everyting and not eager to stir fry up some oniouns and peperrs and grilled veggies. the last time i teied was a couple days ago. same scenario. this time it was 50 mins til close and the children that run the place had replaced nothing. the meat looked dried out and same scenario with the veggies. we left without ordering drove over to rt 18 and chipotle and ordered. we told them where we had just come from adnd the manger(an adult) comped our food. totally unexpected and equally unnecessary. never salsaritas again. you lost our business.

Tasteless and bland crap. I don’t know how this place stays open. All three of my soft tacos ripped open spilling it’s tasteless contents onto my cheap aluminum tray. Also, if I wasn’t watching and didnt speak up, taco boy would’ve left off the rice and beans. If I were half the man I was 10 years ago, I’d take a flame thrower to this place!

I’ve been to Salsarita’s twice: the first time to try it, the second time just out of convenience. There isn’t a Chipotle for miles where this Salsarita’s is in the Old Bridge Shops Plaza, and trust me if there was, this place would go out of business. Food quality isn’t bad, but nothing to get excited over. It’s just average and you really aren’t missing anything if you never come in here. The menu is more in line with Qdoba than Chipotle in terms of offerings(they have quesadillas here), and they also have«alcohol free margaritas.» One nice thing is that they don’t charge extra for guacamole, that is one major annoyance I have with Chipotle(I think I pay enough there as it is, an extra $ 2 is a little steep). Overall Salsarita’s isn’t bad, but isn’t great. If you just happen to have a craving for mexican while you’re in this plaza you won’t have a bad meal here. But if you LOVE Chipotle, be prepared to be a little disappointed — it’s just not as good.

Not sure why everyone seems so down on this place, maybe its because of how Chipotle has hypnotized everyone… I remember when this place first opened, way back when the«gourmet fast food Mexican» style thing was just picking up steam(see Chipotle, Qdoba, Moe’s, etc). Back then, I though this was a worthy entry into this market, and I still stand by this opinion. Just ate here recently, ordered the chicken quesadilla combo. One of my favorite things about this place is their salsa… hot means HOT, which is how I like it. Another good thing about Salsaritas is they have a large variety of options to chose from(try the Mexican pizza, it’s really good), and you can customize most of it. I got my quesadilla simple, chicken, cheese, onions, and cilantro, but I could have asked for much more. It came with salsa & sour cream, and in addition I got a plate of chips and soft drink with the combo. All in all a filling and delicious meal for a decent price. Ok, so its not the fanciest Mexican place around, but it’s a class higher than Taco Bell(not that I don’t enjoy pigging out there from time to time either). And yeah, the employees may have looks on their faces like they don’t wanna be there, but what can you expect from a bunch of high school kids working a part-time job in fast food? Overall, this is still a decent place to eat, without the hassle of Chipotle(love it to, but people who go here frequently know what I mean) and better flavors than Qdoba…

Keep in mind this is a «Subway» fast food style restaurant. your food is made assembly line style. Our friends all agree it’s a nice place, and better than going to Wendy’s McD’s or the BK lounge. We always get the 2 taco special. We get rice & lack beans instead of the chips. My favorites are the chix, steak and pulled pork. My toppings are salsa, lettuce, tomato, onions, jalapenos, cilantro. There are a number of hot sauces on the table. Gives the food a nice kick. Free refills are always nice. I wish they offered raspberry ice-tea. I guess I have to go to Panera for that. We have been lucky, and not experienced what the other reviews mentioned. Our food was always hot, and served quickly. It seems some of the staff lack training, but for the most part they get the order right. We will continue to go their for lunch.

I was a regular by default of proximity, but after my last experience, I’m going AWOL on this joint. This place is NOT fresh. It stinks like the Staten Island«Fresh Kills» landfill. One of the employees that work here is completely absent-minded and«slow.» I mean her brain doesn’t spin as fast as a lab rat. After ordering, it is customary to choose your own additional toppings/sauce. I asked what the fried beans looked like, and without warning, she slabbed on a handful of the nasty looking mess that was. Why, thanks for ruining my quesadilla, you quesabimbo! The food is terrible. The ingredients look like Mickey Mouse and friends ran through it and took a *shat* all over. If we weren’t starving, we would have chosen the McDonald’s dumpster that was a half mile away. And what’s worse is the teen-ployees here cop attitudes all around. Yes, I know you are just waiting to get off work so you can meet your boyfriend at the mall, but could you just hold it together a little while longer? I don’t know what your rush is– 16 and Pregnant is casting already?

I was in the Shoppes of Old Bridge and looking for a quick bite to eat somewhere. I saw Salsarita’s and thought I could go for some Mexican so I went inside. The line already formed contained a number of people and it took them a while to take and execute the orders(I was probably in line for about 10 – 15 min). They have the same concept as Subway and Chipotle, where you place your order and they make it right in front of you as you pick and choose your ingredients. The workers were all teenagers, who weren’t that friendly, but the older woman who rang me up was nice. She was clearly stressed out from the long line of people and the time taking to get the orders out, but she was efficient and friendly. Perhaps the place is still new and they don’t have their act together just yet? I’m not sure. The majority of the people were ordering things to go, but they have a lot of seating if you decide you want to eat there. I ordered 2 Soft Shell Tacos — Ground Beef and Shredded Pork. I chose my condiments: Tom, Lettuce, Sour Cream, Beans, Salsa. I took the order to go and waited to get home till I ate. Ten min later and starving, I gobbled up both tacos which were cold by then. The seasoning of both the ground beef and shredded pork were just alright. This place was just«eh» for me. Between the time it took me to order and get my food and the tacos themselves, I really have no desire to return but we’ll see.
