I don’t do Unilocal reviews. I am on here solely to browse the food porn and to know what I’m getting myself in to ahead of time. First time at this SAMs location. Food was good as always, but plan on sweating in your food. We ate inside with no AC in 90 degree heat. Use the AC people!

We showed up in enough time to place drink order and have a quick drink, three different servers told us that they closed soon and we could not be served. One also looked at us and said the kitchen was closed and we could not be served. Then we watched a woman walk up to the bar order two pints and start drinking. Get your staff in check. The hostess should have told us that while she is stupidly standing at the post instead of letting us walk around the place like Morons. Also post on your sign that you close at 8:30 instead of 9:00 since none of your servers want to work past this point.

March 8th around 5pm Worst service. Seat yourself at one of our dirty tables. The first waitress (panda tat with glasses) no introduction tells us not to look at the drink menu it’s wrong… Then 10 mins later we get our first drink she never returns she had left without telling us. 10 mins later we have a second waitress (blond braid across the top) whom has no clue what’s going on we get our food at the same time as our app. Then don’t see her until we are over half way through our meal and our beers are empty and BTW we never got water. Ask for another drink get it after having to go get plates napkins and utensils from the kitchen ourselves!!! Worst service ever. The tables surrounding us were complaining as well. And where is the manager?! Honestly get yourselves together before someone calls you out on one of the many health codes you have against you.

ok Sam’s — really? It’s the first sunny day in Nashville in awhile and 65 degrees. Hard to wait 45 minutes for bar food when 6 tables are open outside and 6 tables open inside. Went to the bar to get a drink but bartender stated (just one bartender) it would be 10 before she could get to me.

We had the fried shrimp and French Dip. Amazing fries, slaw and AU JUS! ESP IMPRESSED BY THE HOT PLATES! Why serve great food on an ice cold plate? Not here. Great service, excellent drinks. Just moved to the area and we’ll be living here. Hey SAM! Ed says HI!

We usually love this place but no service today. Walked in and seated immediately. About 30 people in the restaurant. 2 tables came in after us they got orders taken, drinks delivered and some food and no one even acknowledged us. 4 servers had to walk by us to get to the outside seating and never stopped. We gave up and left.

Everything I have had at this location has been Awesome! Caesar Saad with grilled chicken is perfect. Ribs and Chicken tenders platter, is excellent ! Chicken sandwich and the dip trio app are both wonderful!!! Can’t go wrong here, and with the lake view, perfect place for dinner with family and friends.

Haven’t had anything else yet cause it’s so good but everything was good with the atmosphere, service extra…
There is a lot of parking but you may not still find a spot. We have turned around and gone somewhere else because of that. I don’t blame them, they’re just very very busy. I did see a golf cart transporting people from the parking lot to the entrance of the restaurant but I circled over and over and over I could not find a space.
What a great place if you can find parking.

This is a very cool restaurant, I wish we had one like it in Michigan that I knew of. Completely floating, several sections of indoor /​outdoor areas. The food is good, the view is great. In October 2015 we were paying $ 4 a pint for draft microbrews which is excellent. Looking forward to visiting here again!

The staff was very nice and the place was really nice and relaxing with a good atmosphere. The main problem is that drink prices are ridiculous. Two mixed drinks with well/​bottom shelf liquor was $ 16 and some change on Half Price Happy Hour. This results in $ 16 per drink at normal prices. I thought this was kind of high and asked to confirm the price and they confirmed. I’m hoping this was a mistake with a new bartender/​server or something…
Will go back again soon to confirm the prices and update review if this was a mistake.

This is the worst place my family has been to in along time. We got a table and waited for a server to greet us and trust me there was a bunch of servers, not one came to take our order or drinks. We sat with our 2 year old daughter at the table for 30 minutes and watched another couple get seated next to us and got service right away. We will never go back again and will advise all of our friends of this horrible service. Thanks for nothing Sam’s. !

Great place to eat and enjoy the Best atmosphere of the lake and the activity. The food is wonderful and the staff is friendly and efficient. I have been 3 times and the food is good no matter what you order, it’s just great! Good amount and reasonable price. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Disrespectful and unprofessional managers and staff! They REFUSE to ask their bands to turn down and pipe out NOISE in EXCESS of 100db from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. at night on Friday and Saturday. This is AGAINST THE LAW and severely damaging to the nearby residential community as well as disruptive to local wildlife.
This bar has destroyed our once peaceful neighborhood and those who work at Sam’s DO NOT CARE that they are causing PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HARM to their SURROUNDING COMMUNITY! I have called on numerous occasions to request that the band turn down and the managers and staff will hang up on me, curse at me, or hurl insults. This was NEVER a problem with the previous owners of the marina’s restaurant!
In addition, there are constantly DANGEROUSLY INTOXICATED PEOPLE having VIOLENT FIGHTS in the parking lot. Obviously they have been overserving their guests. This business is a blight to our community and I am VERY disappointed in their lack of respect for their residential neighbors.

My family only recently moved to Old Hickory but we’ve already come to appreciate having a great casual place like this nearby. As a dockside restaurant with open air dining and bar areas, it succeeds in being relaxing and fun. It’s well maintained and clean and the staff have been very friendly. My wife commented that it’s like being in Florida… in a good way.
The food is a pleasant surprise. The menu has a nice variety and while it’s primarily pub food (burgers, sandwiches, pizza, etc) there are some nice stand-​out items; they actually grill a decent piece of fish! Add a full bar and nice selection of apps and this place is an instant must-​visit for a nice day on the lake. It’s not fancy, but it’s appropriate.

Summer nights are meant to be spent waterside listening to live music! Sam’s Sports Grill has multiple locations scattered throughout the Nashville Area and I have to say this is my favorite. Located about 30 minutes outside of downtown, this sports bar is located right on the marina. We stopped by last night as we heard a fantastic band (The Frank Hurd Band) were playing. The bar itself is divided into multiple units. Our favorite is a Cash only bar ($ 4/​bottled domestics) that extends over the water. Dim lights + live music+ summer breeze= perfection. Plus, parking is a breeze.
If you ask me about the food. no idea.

I love to bring my family and friends to Sam’s by boat. They don’t have a lot of boat parking but it is all part of the experience of going. Sam’s has great food and a great atmosphere. It reminds me of going to a ocean side restaurant in FL. They will often have a live band to enjoy while you are eating.
Let me start by saying I am a hamburger junkie, and this place has an outstanding hamburger. It is big and juicy and just right every time. The service is always friendly and good. The fish sandwich is also very good here as well.

Sam’s at the Cove is perfect. Great for lunch, special $ 5.99 menus and tons of happy hours! We love coming out for a good dinner on the weekends, it can get very busy in the summer, but you can see why! Gorgeous view of the lake. I just wish the other patrons would stop feeding the ducks human food from the restaurant! (they even provide duck and fish food at Sam’s!)
Dawn is a gem and the best server you will find anywhere!

This is not even what I would call good bar food! Waste of money. On arriving we were told it would be 1⁄12 hour wait, so we went to the bar to order a drink. The barmaid walked up and said, «what do you want?» We started to speak and she said it again, «what do you want, food or drinks?». We ordered drinks which came in warm beer glasses and smelled of sulfur or rotten wash water. Disgusting.
After going to our table I ordered the MAHI Fish tacos. The fish was so tough and chewy that I thought it was chicken, in fact it was covered in melted cheese and what taste like salty buffalo sauce. Disgusting! The chowder was so gelatinous and thick that it shook like jello in the bowl. The grilled salmon was obviously a brick of frozen salmon which was half cooked and 5 broccoli florets were laid beside it.
Terrible food.
Surprising what standard of food people are willing to accept these days. Perhaps the location makes people overlook the food quality.

Ok I’m being as nice as they deserve. Never never never go there in the weekends. Checked in at 6:45. Sat down at 8:25. Ask four I repeat 4 servers for silverware. Well you would think they were in a vault. Stay away. Only do they get two because the food was good

SAMs management it’s not tough… when it’s hot you are going to be busy… get a weather app… the people who work here are great but this place has no management or if it does they should be fired

Nice little place on the lake to grab a beer with friends. The food isn’t much to write about. If you have enough beer the food will taste good. The ducks swimming around the floating deck are fun to watch. I always buy some duck food for them. Service is friendly, there are lots of TV screens, and they have live music on the weekends.

Love dining outdoors on the dock! Fresh air, sunshine and on the water!
Came several times last year and thought we would go with the family on Easter Sunday after church. Got seated right away. Ordered some items that I recalled from last year. What stood out then was their pizza, I love good pizza. They changed it and it was no longer home made but a frozen dough. Average at best. My son ordered the chicken tender platter. Very good choice; however the portions were smaller than last year. The food took over 30 minutes which seemed a bit long for what we ordered. Will go again but not as impressed as last year. Check Double Take for coupons.

This whole area is great if you like boating. I found a Airbnb boat and took my daughter and grandson. We had a blast! Beautiful teak wood inside with plenty of room.
Waking up to a beautiful sunrise and ducks quacking about is pure bliss. If you are ever in Nashville opt for a boat night instead of a hotel, it’s so much better and it’s only 5 miles from the airport.
Our host Steve was available for questions anytime and the stocked fridge of water and soft drinks were a bonus!
Sam’s sports bar is the perfect place to watch a game and the food for bar food is pretty good. The lake views and open air seating earns it a 5!
The people are friendly and there is a full bar! I highly recommend this beautiful place!

The food is great and the beer is better. As you may expect, there is a wait when the weather is nice and you can get right in when the weather is bad or in the winter.
My top 2 items — Fish Tacos are as good as it gets. The Cajun Pepperoni Pizza is pretty good as well.
