Amazing place. Excellent, attentive and positive personnel. I wish they are open year around

Not bad, scallops were really good. Clam chowder and lobster stew were thin but had good flavor. Wife’s lobster roll was plentiful but blah. Kids got fish and chips and coconut shrimp. Over all not a bad experience. Service was good, Brianna took care of us.

Hooligans had great staff, and the steak tips were perfect. I liked the drink specials as well.

Good service but the menu was off. My wife and I came in after Labor Day so they began their off-season menu, but neglected to post this fact, anywhere. The only way we found out was by ordering something from the menu they didn’t have. We had to change our order when the waitress came back from the kitchen and informed us they could not comply with our request for a lobster combo because they had no lobsters.(What? I could buy live lobsters up the street.) We settled on clam chowder and fish & chips. The clam chowder was excellent but we were served with disposable plastic ware. The fish & chips was overly greasy and fried inconsistently. We asked the waitress to recommend a local brew and she brought us Pumpkinheads. We really enjoyed those. All in all, a mixed bag. Also, for what you get, overpriced.

My husband was weary of coming here given the mixed reviews. Their specialty is steak tips. They were excellent! On the beach as well. Can get humid.

Horrible service. The waitress was not interested in serving us and had an attitude problem. She even brought out the cheque before we were done. The place just rides on the location. Never going back.

We went to Hooligan’s two weeks ago while vacationing on OOB. I will never go back. The service was not good, the food was not good and overpriced to boot!

Went here for a very late night dinner. It was one of the only places open on a Friday night early season on OOB! I had chicken quesidilla and my boyfriend had a cheeseburger. a pretty expensive one at that! The shocker was you don’t even get freaking french fries with your burger. You get chips. The worst part of the whole experience is you’re trying to eat and you have some young kid screaming into a micriphone who was just absolutely terrible. we were jamming our food down our throat to get the hell out of there. The place still gets three stars being that our waitress was really nice and my chix quesidillas were actually really good!!!

Service was good. Food wasn’t great. I’m pretty sure they purchase a bunch of frozen food and heat it.

The only good thing about this place was the location and the two for 3.75 miller lite draft beers. The food was horrible!!! Instant boxed mashes potatoes, frozen bagged crinkle fries, frozen dried out haddock, basically frozen everything. I would only go back for the miller lite as its my beer of choice and cheap. I would never eat there again.

Please note, I went here around 10 pm on a Saturday. The live music was blah. I mean if you think«Jesus was a hippie» and you like songs about not wearing pants at home, you might have loved it. The service was mediocre and the tables are packed so closely together you can barely move. There was no cover though.

Just eh. Bad bar food at a high price. Ordered the chicken with peppers and onions and cheese that came with french fries(which seemed to be grocery frozen fries awful). Overpriced as well. OOB’s food options are limited, I’d like to try something good in the area but going into Portland for a meal is just too easy.

The two stars are only for the location of the place. Everything else about it was terrible… food, service, ambiance. I would not recommend this place over a slice of pizza next door. Don’t get fooled by the menu prices, you’ll regret eating here.

My parents have been taking me to OOB for about 20 years, but I’ve only recently been able to experience the 21+ attractions this honkytonk locale has to offer. Hooligan’s Steak & Ale(otherwise known as Hooligan’s Landing) is your standard Irish/American divey beach bar that serves classic pub food and offers decent beer deals(Ex. $ 3.75 for two pints of the featured light beer of the week). I haven’t tried the food so I can’t comment on it, but from what I’ve experienced, the staff is nice and attentive. Hooligan’s is located at the mouth of the pier, immediately to your left. The pub is a little on the small side, but there’s plenty of seating and an okay view of the beach. They host a different«nightlife» event every night, including live cover bands, and D-list comedians like Yo! Adrian that are good for supplying a few laughs if you’ve got an hour or so to kill. If you’re looking to dance to top-40 club beats, you hafta walk down to the end of the pier and pay $ 5 – 7 to get into Lindbergh’s Landing. If you’re looking for cheap beer and eats, nice people and good atmosphere to break up your beach day and don’t feel like driving, give Hooligan’s a try!
