We continue to give this place a shot. We stay in OOB for 6 Weeks during the summer and been in Mystic several times over the years. Very over priced and you never see locals. I’ve given up on this place.

Our waitress reminded me of Maybe from arrested development, and we were close to a crêpe booth with a lot of bananas hanging(understand frozen banana stand) = best time ever. Service was quick and friendly. Food was typical bar food, but we got the lobster twins with some of my friends, which comes with a baked potato and corn. The lobsters were extra fresh. Other got the hamburger or salad, everyone was happy. Let’s go back!

Nice place to have a drink didn’t try their food just had a few pricy drinks. They have a large mixed drink menu. Maybe next will try the food.

Went in peak summer time. There was absolutely nothing about this place that I Iiked. Total tourist trap. Frozen tasteless food. Inside was like a sauna, tables were sticky. We got sat and waited for almost 20 minutes before anybody came near us, was just about to walk out when the waitress came. I had spent those 20 minutes watching 2 «captains» BSing at the pass of the open kitchen(open kitchen housed 3 cooks that all looked like they just escaped the lockup at Rikers Island, covered in tats and baseball hats, not expecting Gordon Ramsey white chef coat or anything but come on, if you have an open kitchen there has to be some kind of standard) with10 or so «crew» members buzzing around them grabbing food. There were 3 servers in our tiny section of 4 tables but none of them came near us. So they were rotating tables fine, but the hostess obviously doesn’t know to communicate with the server that she got sat. It was all very chaotic, no manager/floor presence, clowns running the circus. My Caesar salad looked like it was beaten with a hammer inside a brown paper bag and it was caked in bottled dressing and a mountain of Parmesan piled on it like the cocaine on Tony Montanas office desk in Scarface. Steak was ok at best, rice was boil in a bag sticky crap and you could hit a home run with the asparagus they served, it was like bamboo. This place has prime location and could dish out a decent product and kill it as its in among a pile of other crappy places, pizza, fried dough etc but obviously whoever owns this place doesn’t care and has no standards. The tourists are all just $$$ coming they the door. Horrible.

Ok. Checked reviews while we were being sat and almost walked out. 2 kids and an empty restaurant, sometimes adds up to dinner time. Staff was great and attentive. Quick to seat us and help. Food was expensive but was good. All together place was dated and grungy but the food was pretty good. Menu is small and drinks are strong. There are better options in the area.

It is what it is. A little grungy, but what about old orchard isn’t? They made up for it with a wonderful lunch and incredible waitress. Our first visit was a good one. Enjoyed the meal, especially eating at the couches!

Took my family for lunch today, late lunch around 2pm. It was slow. We got sat quickly and service was fairly quick. It was fine it you want everything frozen out of a bag. Very expensive for frozen product. This was our first and last trip.

The Myst is by far the best place to grab lunch or dinner down in Old Orchard. The food is delicious, the drinks are great, and the staff is one of a kind. You won’t find a friendlier crew working anywhere in the area! The menu offers many choices for vegetarians, gluten intolerant, picky eaters or family’s with an appetite for some delicious seafood! What beats a drink out on the deck while the sun sets and the waves roll in? Maybe just include a delicious lobster and you’ve got the package deal!

Horrible! We waited a half hour for our appetizers and the entrees came out 2 minutes later. Our server said they were backed up and it wasn’t her fault. Bad food and even worse service

Perhaps the Canucks love shitty service and unapologetic wait staff but this Bostonian doesn’t, 30 wait for the app only to have the meal show up 10 seconds later… One Star

Compared to the first time I tried this place years ago it was much more enjoyable this time. I had a lobster salad and the waitress found me balsamic vinegar. I like the lower calorie choice. My husband had a maple chicken something that was a little too sweet, but pretty good. This place had a few semi healthy choices which was so hard to fid on the beach.

My family && I were looking for a place to eat close to the beach this place was right on the boardwalk and I really was not impressed– why? My pasta noodles were way overcooked and my meal had barely any taste to it and our waitress was very scattered. All in all I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

Myst was just ok. Since it was attached to the property we were staying at our family decided not to venture too far away on our first night in Old Orchard Beach. We sat outside & were just blasted with sounds from everywhere. Myst had satellite radio playing pretty loud. It was my favorite channel(90s alternative & grunge) Lithium but it was a bit loud for a family dinner. Plus there were bands playing by the pier too. All I remember is LOUD. I could see how this would discourage people from wanting to eat here. The food was nothing amazing but good. I got wings & beer. Again, decent wings & cold beer are tough to screw up & Myst managed to pass this test. My wife got the lobster BLT which was a bit meaty but not that best I’ve had. At $ 14.50 it was two bucks more than the actual lobster roll with a lot more meat. Myst wasn’t that bad. Just know you’re eating at a beach bar in OOB& you might not be too disappointed.

Reading all the other reviews, I’d have to agree. I wanted to like this place. Its in a great location and we got to sit outside. You’d think with the staff to customer ratio someone would have had time to take the cigarette-butt filled cup off of the railing near us… but they didn’t. There were many many servers standing around but not too many customers. We went on August 13th. I had the black bean burger and my company had a hamburger. The black bean burger was handmade, as described. I’ve never seen anything like it! it was black beans squashed and thrown on a grill. No patty, nothing like that! that was 11 dollars(I think). I drank(cold) beer. Thank you very much. I did notice that the coctails were served in small plastic cups and were upwards of ten dollars. I wouldnt recommend Myst to my friends. Sorry!

I was hungry, hot and wanted something quick. This place met those needs. It is large enough that on a busy day, you do not have to wait long to be seated. The food is just OK. Nothing really that great. But considering the location, I would say it is a decent place to pop into if you need to a seat and a place to cool down. I would not make it my dinner spot, maybe just an appetizer & cool beverage only. I did not try any of the drinks however.

Wicked shitty cocktail served in a plastic cup that you’d find in a diner. Its a white Russian that was made with something other than Kahlua and pretty much tastes like vodka with milk. I «upgraded» to the tall for an extra $ 1.50 and also sprung for the absolute instead of the bar vodka. I have a feeling this thing is going to cost around $ 10 based upon the ridiculously overpriced food menu. I’m on vacation so I’m not going to cry about it but I’m obviously not enjoying myself if I’m sitting here writing a Unilocal review. Check please!

This place managed to hobble together a two star review just because I got to sit outside. We only got drinks here, so I cannot comment on the food. The service was slow. It took us an obnoxious amount of time to get what we ordered. At one point we told the waitress we would be ordering more drinks next time she came around. We were very surprised when she brought us the check instead of taking our order. This place used to be packed, but it really cleared out early on Saturday this year.

Horrible service. This place was empty and everyone that worked here was daydreaming and not doing their job. The drinks were boring and just bad, and the food was horrible.
