I have been coming to Edie’s Styling for about 9 years now. My son has now started going here as well, he’s 13. Every so often the colours and décor change. It’s nice a refreshing to see when you walk in. Everyone at Edie’s is very friendly, nice and helpful. The front desk receptionist is always so accommodating to fit me in or help to get the next soonest available. Edie is there most days and always greets everyone who walks in. Nice to see an owner so invested in their business and clients. Rachael has been cutting my hair for the 9 years I’ve been going to Edie’s. She is extremely good at her job/craft. She listens to what I want and executes it with precision. I’ve never walked out thinking, «oh gosh I hope this grows out quickly…» I’ve always loved what she has done. I’ve had the same cut for years but change the length or colour from time to time. No matter what Rachael is always accommodating and does a fantastic job. I highly recommend her. My 13 year old is going through the longer shaggy phase and started coming here with me when the usual barber didn’t cut it for him any longer. Now, he won’t go any place else. I’ve never been to any one else here but I have seen their work on clients and honestly all of them are very good too. I gave a few friends I’ve recommended to Edie’s and they are all very happy with them as well. When you call ask for someone who specializes in whatever it is you want. They offer drinks for you to enjoy and have a nail person on specific days. Call and make an appointment.

I am writing to share the experience I had at this salon last Saturday. Needless to say I will NEVER go back and DONOT recommend this salon. Overall it was dirty, disorganized, time was very poorly managed, and I was treated horribly by the staff and the owner. Additionally, I did not get what I asked for. Long story short I had scheduled 3 – 3 ½ hours to get two color processes and a haircut done. When I reached that point, she was only about half way finished! I was aghast that she had accomplished so little in that vast amount of time. I grew impatient and told her of my time constraints. She got upset. She then put me under a hair dryer and tells me it should process under the dryer for about 5 – 10 minutes. As it reached that time, to my dismay, she actually had another client in her chair! She kept me there for 35 minutes unnecessarily. I was furious. I had been, for all intents and purposes, «set aside» to wait until she finished with this other client. I was left to wait if I wanted to finish my color, and the haircut that she said she needed to finish when it was dry. At that time, she had the shampoo girl(obviously a person new to hair and training at the salon) to blow dry my hair. I had no idea one that worked at a salon could know absolutely nothing about blow drying technique. She actually dried my hair(medium length) starting at the ends and never even used a brush, just her fingers. I got fed up and saw my hair drying like a wheat field and asked her if she was even going to use a brush! The owner, who was styling someone else’s hair next to me, told her to stop. She got frustrated, put the hair dryer down, and my stylist told her she did nothing wrong! In a way, I feel bad for this girl because she obviously had not the least bit of training. She was attempting to dry my color processed hair starting at the ends with NO product in my hair at all. It was unbelievable. Eventually the actual stylist came back over and finished my hair – blow drying it correctly – with a brush from the root down, and with certain products in for silk, shine, etc. I am most upset at how I was treated. I paid for all of my bill $ 160.00 –I gave the stylist 10% tip because I did like her hair cut. I had been very prepared when walking into the salon to leave a 20% tip but they made me feel horrible. I am not sure if it was the policy of the salon to schedule another person in the middle of my color treatments, but it was a very poor one. Perhaps, if I had an actual processing time of 30-minutes or so I wouldn’t have minded but this was really ridiculous. It is possible to get a good haircut and color there, BUT prepare to camp out and wait for other clients to come in while you’re being worked on and they get priority. Additionally, I got dishwater colored hair when I asked for blonde. Never asked if they could fix it or make it more what I wanted. If you don’t like what they give you, you will be their enemy. It is sad because I have been to other salons and saw them work hard to help a client who didn’t get that they wanted. It really is all about customer service, maturity and professionalism – none of which you will find at this salon.

I love this place! The girls here are all so nice. Thanks for always making me feel at home. They do balyage for blondes and it always turns out awesome, especially over highlights. It’s a quick fix instead of dying your whole head or getting new highlights in every time! Do yourself a favor!

I needed a new hairstylist since my old one was too far. Called and was able to schedule an appointment the next day. Arrived at the salon and didn’t have to wait at all which was really nice. Got a nice scalp massage as my hair was washed. The staff was all very friendly and it was a nice environment. My only gripe was that it took about an hour and a half to get my hair actually cut, I was there for a while. I didn’t get any coloring or anything special done, just a haircut. Overall it was a good experience and I would go back again.

I have gone to Edies since 1998 until I moved to California 2 years ago. I’m back today because no one does color better than Edie and Rachel!!! Not even in the land of the famous. If you’re new to the area you have to come here. If you’re bored with your color you need to be here! Even an hour drive in is SOWORTHIT! Definitely the 6 hour flight was!

I went here a few months ago and it still remains as one of my top rated salons, however the price doesn’t always work for my budget. I came in and got a wash, color, cut, and dry. For my color I got blonde balayage highlights applied to my lower ends. Ariel did an amazing job all around and really understood what I was looking for. When I first walked in, I filled out a sheet that explained my hair needs and what I was looking for during my visit. I really enjoyed that they were going to put a lot of customization into my visit. For the wash, I received a wonderful scalp massage that was included in the general wash segment — amazing. Now I know that color can be expensive but for highlight and cut I paid over $ 100 which I find to be a little pricey. I know that you get what you pay for but I would understand if that price was for an all over permanent color, but it wasn’t. Nevertheless, I’m giving Edie’s 5 stars because the customer service was awesome, the service done was beautiful and exactly what I wanted, and the environment was elegant and comfortable at the same time. Only slight negative for me would be the elevated prices.

Okay, let me start off by saying Kristin in Livermore is the standard by which I judge good haircuts and hair color. Kristin is gifted. I had my hair done at another local salon and just wasn’t thrilled. I’m pretty sure the lady who cut my hair perceived me as «old» when I told her my age and she gave me a mom cut. Don’t get me wrong, moms can be gorgegous ex: Heidi Klum. This was the mom jeans of hair cuts. I needed help. I Googled salons and looked at their websites to see if I could find a salon that was in my price range and looked friendly. I called the salon and hadn’t heard back about scheduling an appointment. Sometimes, I talk too fast for voicemails so I walked in and made an appointment. It was about 2 weeks before Christmas and they got me in the week before Christmas. Granted, I’m a teacher so my flexibility may have had something to do with that. I had to fill out a form about my hair to start and then Lauren and I chatted about my expectations. This sounds horrible, but I don’t know how I want to get my hair cut. I trust the artistic direction to the person who cuts my hair and let them know the boundaries(not long, bangs or no bangs, layer friendly, not high maintenance, and what worked/didn’t work for the last cut.) We also talked about my color and Lauren recommend something I hadn’t tried. I forgot what it was called, but I love my color. I am super happy with my hair. I even raved about it to my mom and told her she should try them. She has high expectations so that should tell you something. A few days after my appointment, I got a phone call checking to see how I liked my hair. About a week later, I got a postcard in the mail for $ 5.00 off my next appointment. Don’t tell them this, but I’m so stinking happy with my experience… I’d pay them an additional $ 5 to come back. I am frugal though, so keep it on the DL. Parking in this area can be a little crazy so make sure you budget extra time in case you have to hoof it from the back lot.
