This restaurant is gone and yes speaking about their new location.

Worst Greek food I’ve ever had. Ordered chicken souvlaki. It looked like it was microwaved and looked more like a fried chicken patty. Service was horrible too.

We live about 25 minutes from this place and make the trek out there every 6 months or so because the food and coffee have been delicious. We went again this morning and were soooooooo disappointed. It has been made over to look like some sophisticated Greek restaurant(not the homey breakfast place we wanted) and it was done so terribly. As we had time to sit there on the flimsy seats we really took notice of the terrible paint job, the stark blue and white décor, the huge bar(we want a family bfast place, not a bar), the uncomfortable pillows where comfy booths used to be, and the place was filthy. Such a drastic change in so little time. The food was still good, though the coffee wasn’t. Plus, I wasn’t even offered a warm up on my coffee… I got the distinct impression that the wait staff had been told to not offer coffee refills. My husband is very picky regarding restaurants. One bad experience and away we go never to return again. So, I bid farewell to Eggstyle… or is it Skara? If the new owners are reading this, here’s some advice for you… stop operating as a shadow of Eggstyle. If your agenda is to slowly win over the clientele as you transition into a Greek dinner restaurant you are failing. Patrons of Eggstyle are not liking the changes and obviously giving tons of negative reviews here on Unilocal which will stigmatize you and crush your business. Close Eggstyle down, rehab the menu and open as Skara before its too late and you do yourself in.

Went on a Sunday evening around 730. Sign says open, greeted inside by… nobody until a cute kid sitting at the only table ran into the kitchen to get someone. Considering there was no one in the place, it took forever to get the food. Food was tasty, but oh my the after effects the next day for myself and my dining partner were unforgiveable. We won’t be going back.

After not coming for a while to Eggstyle I decided to return after over six months. My prior experiences here were positive. Food took a little longer than usual but that’s to be expected sometimes with local establishments. This time I noticed the differences… not sure about the half Greek style theme and half Eggstyle theme going on but the establishment no longer appeared to be well kept as before. Floors looked like they needed to be swept and mopped, menus were dirty and the horrible blue paint job was noticeable. The poor Manager appeared to be a deer in headlights, not dealing with the customers problems very well. Two tables around me were dissatisfied and requested her. She appeared more afraid then prepared to deal with them. The Hostess wipes off tables while she seats but is not warm or inviting. Before she says welcome she tells you how long is the wait! As if to see if you are going to stay or not before she writes your name. There were plenty of dirty tables but no sense of urgency in the part of the servers, Manager or what I thought was a busser. If you walk up and see the table is dirty, take back some dishes! As a server this is your money! It was strange. Our server was polite but was forgetful and slow. Although the food was good(not great), this establishment could prosper from formal training and proper management. I don’t foresee going back. Cracker Barrel up the street puts out a better product in a timely fashion and the staff is on point. I would rather wait the 30 mins to be seated then return to this place.

This is NOT the old eggstyle place… I don’t know what’s going on here, but the food is awful and they can’t get your order correctly. Definitely not worth the $ 30 I paid for breakfast

This place used to be the bee’s knees for breakfast. After reading a few other reviews and talking with some patrons, apparently the ownership of this establishment has changed hands. The EggStyle that I first experienced no longer exists. Wait staff is awful, food takes forever and a day to come out. If you have other options for breakfast, take them. This place is a shell of its former self, and it’s clearly going thru an identity crisis of some kind. All I know now, is that it’s really WACK.

Eggstyle or Taverna Skara? Talk about an identity crisis… it was just a plain crisis anyway you look at it. ITWASTERRIBLE! I heard they had good breakfast, but my experience, on two different occasions(as Eggstyle), was not at all pleasant! I waited for about 10 minutes to be seated and the place was not even busy. It looked like there was only one waitress in the place. I ordered lox & cream-cheese and when it arrived(like 20 min. later), what I ordered was not what was on the menu… no capers, no tomatoes. When I asked, she said they were out of capers. Argh. So I decided to give it a second try and I ask, ‘Is the salmon fresh?” «Yes, we got it in yesterday!» «Do you have capers?» «Yes, we have capers. «GREAT! Well after a very long time, the waitress comes by and says, «We do not have bagels. Did you want white or wheat toast?» Are you kidding me? ! This place is horrible. I will not go back. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. NOWTHEY have signs up that say Taverna Skara… well I’m going to try anything ran by the owners of this place, regardless of the name.

Unfortunately, this is a Do Not Patronize review. First off, we are saddened that Taverna Skara in Northwood has closed — that place was EXCELLENT and rated very highly with us over several visits. They have moved to the former Egg Style location in Oldsmar. We knew something was up when the familiar yellow and black awnings were replaced with blue, and the inside looked like it had been freshly painted. Went for Sunday breakfast with the family today. How many different ways can a single meal be messed up? Let me count the ways… We were met at the door and promptly seated, then forgotten about. Waiter finally took the order and disappeared. Eventually had to flag down a passing waitress to get a cup of coffee. No spoons for the coffee. Told the waiter and asked for spoons, and nothing happened. Simple breakfast, nothing fancy, and the restaurant was not crowded. After 25 minutes and … nothing. Food finally came out 30 minutes after placing the order — plates were hot from the heat lamps and the food was … cold. My eggs were cold and not as I ordered, so they were sent back to be remade. Dill sauce for the benedict was cold… sent back. Other plates were barely warm. Never did get a refill on the coffee. Bread came out as a basket for the entire table, instead of individually as ordered — and not what was ordered. Check came and … the orders had been entered wrong by the waiter. I can’t fault the kitchen, I can fault the waiter — who forgot about the table on multiple occasions and forgot to get the food from the kitchen. If this is the new Taverna Skara it sorely lacks the quality and attentiveness that the owners lavished on the old location. Based on the menu, this place is mediocre at best and service is severely lacking.

Left this review under Egg Style yet it was hidden as the location was reported as closed, yet clearly it is operating as Egg Style/Tavern Skara Have been a patron of Eggstyle for several years and loved the fresh food, generous portions, friendly service and atmosphere. The new«atmosphere» of a confusing two restaurants in one location isn’t working. The owner consolidated his breakfast/lunch restaurant with his/dinner Greek restaurant and put them in the Eggstyle location. That would have been fine EXCEPT they replaced the quaint décor with a «spray paint everything blue and white» motif. The etched concrete floor has been covered over in grey garage paint. The high end wood fixtures and multicolored ceramic tile are painted over. It looks cheap. We have plenty of Greek restaurants and did not need to overtake a tasteful breakfast spot to add yet another. The new atmosphere is stark. The Eggstyle menu is stiff offered(with a paper«Skara» sheet stapled to it), however the food is not what it was. The attention to detail is gone, order your food a certain way and it comes out another. The fresh fruit now looks like it came from the discounted over ripe section. If I wanted to eat breakfast in a Greek restaurant I would have gone to one. Sorry guys-you took two moderately successful restaurants and produced a single confusing failure
