Oishi Sushi & Hibachi Steak House

The food was great and service was quick and kind. I had the Salamanca roll, which was to die for, and my friend got sushi for 2, which ended up being a sushi boat. The fish tasted fresh, which is a huge up due to the surrounding area. I enjoyed the atmosphere too! Great hours also, I will definitely be eating here again.

Wow the food here was fantastic, the food and service was all very good. I was on the Hibachi side of the restaurant and couldn’t have asked for better food and loved watching the chef at work in person. All in all had a wonderful evening.

There are not a ton of options open late in Olean. The hibachi chicken was actually really good. We sat at a table (but you can order the same menu). The teriyaki chicken was weird-​it was steamed, boiled or microwaved chicken with a little bit of sauce on it.

Enjoyed the place a lot. Food was fresh and delicious. Different choices than I’ve seen before and very nicely plated. I would go again when I’m in NY.

They have wonderful food. I would highly recommend them. Service is always quick and they serve at a timely manner.

Excellent food. Excellent service. A little pricey. But worth it! We like to go for date night. We have always received good service and our servers have always been very attentive. No bad experiences for us at all.

I kept hoping that a decent sushi place would open up in the area and Oishi definitely fits the bill. The sushi is fresh and delicious. The selection ranges from familiar American rolls like the California roll to larger rolls named after the area, like the Olean roll and Salamanca roll. Foods other than sushi are also excellent. The fried rice options and noodle options are also delicious. For the record, these guys have the best miso soup I’ve come across. I have not tried the hibachi side of Oishi but I’ve heard excellent things.
The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. We have been there for both lunch and dinner and we were seated and served quickly for both. We have been there during slow and busy periods and the quality of the service is consistently great.
For those that are afraid to go because they’ve heard about the stolen credit card issue: yes, they had someone working for them that stole credit/​debit numbers but they were arrested. I’ve never had any issues paying at Oishi and they’ve taken steps to ensure that your privacy is protected. I mean, people aren’t going to stop shopping at Target or Home Depot because there were security breaches at those stores so I see no reason to stop frequenting Oishi.

First time at a hibachi. Food was great and so was the show. The jerk that was sitting and complaining didn’t help the experience but the food was amazing!

Service was slow, my appetizer came when my food did, when I was waiting for friends I sat in my car in the lot and heard noises…
Opened my door and an EMPLOYEE was taking my license plate of my car! I got out to confront him and he ran inside. WILL NOT go back!
PLUS a girl I work with got her credit card number stolen from there. A waitress copied her numbers down and used it!
Have not heard good things and will never go back! Once is good enough for me!
