Breakfast near home is always good. Really busy today but the environment was still positive and the food was still good.

Amazing Food and fast service! The chili and homemade salsa are the best! Every time I go I try something different and I’m always blown away. Chili huevos rancheros today was so good!

This place was amazing. I was here for the weekend and was craving a sweet breakfast. I NEEDED waffles. After looking around Unilocal,I found this place and did not regret my decision. I got half strawberry and half banana waffles, though perhaps should have followed the waitress’s suggestion of banana caramel walnut. Either way I was happy!!!

Never really been to a old style breakfast diner. The wait wasn’t bad specially it being valentine’s day. I ordered the breakfast special with biscuits and gravy. The plate overall was very good nicely prepared and served. If I would live around here I would come more often but this won’t be my last :)

Full from a great breakfast! I had ordered the #4 which comes with eggs, sausage or bacon, hash browns, and toast or biscuits/​gravy. It’s a huge breakbeat for me, I ate all except for one piece of bacon, and one egg. They have a great selection of tea, which I love. Saw an old teacher from Yuba Gardens Mr. Keiser (forgive me if I had spelled his name wrong.) Loved listening to the elders talking about the old days. It’s a great place to take your family, and relax while you eat.

I was very pleased with the food and spoke to a few other duke’s customers that had told me thy had been going for over 20 years now that’s commitment.

My wife and I stopped in this place on a Saturday morning. Upon opening the door there was quite a buzz about the place as it was very busy, but not totally packed as we were seated right away. The waitresses were quick to attend to us but not overly courteous or friendly.
Once we ordered, our food came out within 10 minutes.
My wife ordered biscuits and gravy ($ 6). She said the biscuits were very good because they were light and soft in comparison to most others that are too dense and hard. Everything else about the meal was average by her standards.
I ordered the #1 — steak and eggs ($ 10). There was nothing special about this meal. It wasn’t the worst or best I’ve had. The steak was very tough and dry in some bites. The home fries were very greasy to the point of making the entire bottom of the plate «all kinds of greazzzy». The eggs, scrambled, were nicely done, but that is to be expected from anywhere.
Our check came, we went to the front to pay, and left.
Objectively rating the food and service, I must say that it was adequate. Portion size was good and the prices were fair.

A subjective note about the atmosphere.
This diner is in a small, predominately Caucasian, town.
My wife (White) and I (Black) got the distinct impression that our presence was not entirely welcome by a good number of the other diners, from the moment we walked in until the moment we left, by many sustained instances of unfriendly stares directed toward us.
Perhaps we both took things the wrong way, but city folk be warned about that aspect of things…

Good chicken fried steak and huevos rancheros, friendly service… a good breakfast stop in NoCal

We stopped here traveling south enroute to home. What a great stop! Breakfast was delicious! I added a little bowl of their special chili to my dish and WOW! So friendly and efficient, had us back on our way with happy tummies in a short time! We’ll be back! GREAT stop!

LOVED it! We stopped for breakfast on our way home from a camping trip in Lake Almanor. I had Dukes Chili Omelette… crazy good. Esposa went with diced ham and eggs… tried a bite of mine, ordered a side of chili to dump in her eggs. I rest my case.
Great biscuits. I had the gravy on the side. Not really a gravy guy, but it was good. Very nice server. Definitely recommended.

This place was really good wait stay was awesome there bout 900 Sunday morning got right in and the food was good not great but surely I have had much worse

LOVE THIS PLACE! Their breakfast special is my fav! Cheap, local and oh-​so-​DELICIOUS!

Chili is worth every bite plus mix it with there salsa and its ying and yang thang we’ve tried different stuff and we like all off we had

Absolutely the worst place around. What a waste of time and money. Omelette had lunch meat and Kraft singles on it and the lady never refilled my coffee. We used to come here a lot when I was a kid but I’ll never be back again ever. Never ever ever! Yuck!!!

The best steak and eggs in our area. Fresh fruit on the side, endless coffee and the service is outstanding. Dukes is always busy but we are always served promptly with a huge welcome. The homemade desserts and biscuits are delish!

I think you have to be a regular here to enjoy the «really good food and great service.» Went in there with my mom on a recommendation and felt like we were trespassing. No smiles, no thank you come again. Just hostile looks from employees, and a quick but quiet service. I felt so uncomfortable that I asked for boxes and left.

The food is good, workers are nice and respectful! Only problem is the owner. she’s always grumpy and doesn’t smile often. I hope she reads this so she knows how to smile and have better service.

Always delicious food and excellent service! My boyfriend and I love coming here for breakfast on lazy weekends. Everything I have ever ordered here has been super fresh, fast, and tasty!

Great food and great service for a good price! We tried the Mary Jane as recommended by multiple people. Delicious! Biscuits and gravy smothered with their homemade chili? Who would’ve thought that would taste good together. Our 10 yr old son ordered their pigs in a blanket from the adult menu and ate everything. He said it was so really good.
If going on a weekend I would suggest getting there before 9:30. It started getting busy around that time. We had a party of 7 and were seated with no problems or wait… we got there around 8:00ish.
I will definitely be dining here again in the near future. And I will keep this as one of my Go-​To places when family comes into town :)

Great food, great service. Attentive, fast and cheap!!! People are friendly in the town too. Would recommend to anyone wanting a classic diner breakfast
