It may sound as if I’m being vicious, but this is as honest and kind of a review as I can give. This is based on years of experience working in and running restaurants. It’s Thursday night dinner at 7:15pm and most of the place is empty. It took over 5 minutes before anyone noticed that we were seated. When we were finally approached, the waitress took our drink order and asked if we were ready to order our entire meal. To start, we got a Hot Crab Pretzel, which was described by our server as «a Bavarian pretzel with crab dip baked onto the top» which ended up being a cafeteria pretzel, room temperature and the visibly baked crab dip was cold, as if cooked and then refrigerated. I ordered Fish and Chips. How can you that screw up? Over-fry it until the cod has the consistency of rubber. My daughter ordered the Salmon BLT and didn’t touch it because the salmon was so dry that it was basically inedible. My husband ordered the Crabcake Platter, which is a travesty to sell such a thing in Maryland. Definitely NOT Maryland crab meat. Even after the server was kind enough to remove the sandwich from the bill, it still came to over $ 70. I really hope someone buys that place and puts something decent there. It’s been too long since someone with any usable knowledge of running a restaurant was there. Very unfortunate.

We loved it too! I was there for lunch yesterday with a friend because she had heard how great the crabcakes were from her other friends who had already been repeat diners. The crabcakes were indeed made with all jumbo lump crabmeat. Delicious! You can request coleslaw instead of potato chips, which we did. The coleslaw was good — not too much mayo. I especially liked the attractive patio. In walking through the restaurant, the inside seating seemed fine, too. Our server was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately the location is kind of out of the way(although it is on Rt. 108, it’s not really near anything else) and it doesn’t seem to be well known yet. I would definitely make a point of going back.

This place is great. The crabs, shrimp and clans were delicious and the 108 salad with watermelon, feta, white balsamic dressing and arugula was spectacular. The indoor seating is pretty basic but the patio is gorgeous. Definitely opt for the patio if the night is nice. The service was attentive and friendly and the prices reasonable. I read some of the negative Unilocal reviews and wondered what they were talking about. Then I found out that they were posted by the old owners who couldn’t make a go of the place. That’s a shame. This place is a keeper.

I ate there with my wife. I got the crab cake sandwich and she had fried shrimp. The crab cake looked good with lots of crab meat but was pretty tasteless. The fried shrimp looked as if they had been frozen. They advertise fresh seafood. I would not recommend this place to my friends and would probably not go back. Also the prices seemed high for what we got. Seafood is rare in the area and I hope they get their act together.

My husband and I stopped here around noon on a Wednesday. We were the only people there. We were seated promptly and service throughout the meal wasn’t an issue since we were the only ones there, so I can’t really comment how service would be when they are busy. We ordered a MD crab soup and Old Bay Wings for apps. The soup may have been from a can(as a prior reviewer mentioned), or possibly frozen veggies from a bag, but the crab meat and fresh corn in there was good, and overall the soup tasted yummy. The wings were also pretty good, crispy on then outside with old bay seasoning. Both decent, but nothing earth shattering. For the meal, we shared the Snow Crab legs. 3 snow crab leg clusters with a corn on the cob and a side of coleslaw. I thought it was all pretty good. The coleslaw lacked pepper, and wasn’t as good as KFCs(which is the best IMO), but definitely not bad. The corn on the cob was perfectly cooked and sweet. The snow crab legs I thought was plentiful for the price and was sweet and meaty. The place itself seemed to lack ambiance, had a very strange odor, and the tables and chairs were all old. The food was decent, the ambiance lackluster, if not on the offensive side, thus 3 stars. As a side note, we asked if they had MD crabs, and they only had mediums and quoted us $ 70 a dozen! I know the crabs are in low supply, but that’s just insane if people are willing to pay that much.

This place had some start up problems but they are improving daily. New menu, gone are some of the not so great items and they have added some new very tasty treats. Try the cold shrimp with pico and avocado! The crabs are always full and meaty. Could use some additional Old Bay when being steamed but otherwise delicious. May not be Maryland Blues but I don’t think they advertise as such. The a Maryland harvest has been challenged for many years so sometimes you have to get them where you can. All I can say to the previous reviewers is give them another chance. Things are much better then 30 days ago and are constantly improving.

AWFUL! they ran out of. Coronas for the table next to us. Ran out of grey goose. The food was just ok but the outside smell was clearly septic over load. I could not imagine eating with that smell. Service was inexperienced. Overall a bummer!

A friend and I had lunch here today. We were impressed by the look of the dining room. It looks quite nice. But we were surprised to find no one at the hostess station to seat us, and even more surprised to see that no one else was in the dining room. We soon found out why. I ordered Maryland crab soup and a steak sandwich. The«Maryland crab» soup had beef in it. In fact, it looked like nothing more than a can of beef stew with a few pieces of crab meat put in it. The steak sandwich was okay, but the menu said it came on ciabatta bread. It did not come on ciabatta bread. I’m not sure what kind of bread it was on. I think perhaps a low quality hoagie roll. My friend reported no problems with her New England clam chowder. But her salmon BLT was served very oddly. The salmon was cold and the bacon was warm. Very weird. We have driven past this restaurant on our trips through lonely and to Columbia, Baltimore, and elsewhere. We have often wondered why we never tried this place before. Now we know why. We won’t try it again.

This place is BAD. The food is over priced. The owner doesn’t respect military. I asked for a poor boy sandwich, at 12 $. I got 4 pieces of shrimp on my sandwich two on each side WITH5 potatoes chips. There was hair in my sandwich. When I complained the owner came and gave me a nasty attitude. I asked him to explain why I’m only getting 4 shrimp and did the staff wear hair nets. I told him i couldnt beleive the sevice and that I served and he said i dont give a f**k and He threw me out and said don’t come back. This establishment is pinching its customers for money. It’s owned by the same people and it’s horrible as before. Don’t go here. Olney can do without. Real classy.

Nice addition to Olney! Priced right, entrees sized right, good cocktails and appetizers. Our waitress, Gina, was exceptional! Will be great to see what the new owner can do to improve the ambience of the overall space.

Clearly this place has a lot of kinks to work out. Granted, we were there on a Sunday night when things are weird at any restaurant. But they just don’t have things flowing smoothly and it just isn’t working(yet). We chose to sit outside out back because the inside is just zero atmosphere and looks somewhat dirty. Really, they’ve been working on this place for months and I don’t know what they were doing! The outside was ok, but the smell of septic, sewage, or whatever, was strong in some areas of the outside patio(not so appetizing). The bar that was there is gone. The tables are rickety and unstable. We ordered steamed shrimp for an appetizer. It is really, really hard to mess that up and it came to us steaming hot and was yummy. The draft beer was very cold. These are all good. But when our crab cakes came out(about 2 minutes after we received our appetizers) they were completely cold. It was like they took them out of the fridge and put them on the plate; oops, forgot to warm them up. Fortunately, our super-nice waiter took them back and brought us some new hot ones. The crab cakes were made of lots of lump crab meat with very little filler; this was good. But they had zero flavor; this was bad. I wondered if they used pasteurized crabmeat instead of fresh Maryland crabmeat; they were tasteless. A little seasoning goes a long way. I hope the owners and management get their act together soon. If this place is good, I’m sure they’ll get tons of business. It’s in a great location close to Olney, Derwood, Gaithersburg, Laytonsville, etc. It seems that whoever owns and manages this place is very inexperienced in the restaurant business. Please get it together! My hopes are high for this place; please, please figure things out and make it work! We’ll be back sometime. Hopefully improvement is on the horizon…

Finally! Crabs in Olney! They were served«naked» with old bay on the side. Perfect. Jumbo, fresh, delicious. We each ordered a ceviche-like shrimp appetizer that was to-die-for. A large, full-variety menu has something for everyone, including the kids and one vegetarian in our mix. Can’t wait to go back.

Okay, well this place can become something really good. As of 6−25−14 they really need to get their stuff in order. The 1st time I was there we just had drinks. 5-Stars The second time I decided to have a 108 burger, «It’s a restaurant style Big Mac». When the sandwich arrived, I was beyond shocked with the bag of potato chips resting on top of the extremely pale pickle. Positive– The burger. Wow, um, it was seasoned nicely. That is all I can say positive about it! Negative As soon as I picked it up, the bun broke into 4 pieces on the top half The bottom half was soaked and dripping of pickle juice Oh the only cheese they offered was American cheese and the burgers broke apart. I went back again, I figured the kitchen was having a bad day. NOPE! My girlfriend had the Crab cake sandwich every bite had 4 – 5 pieces shell in it and one bite the shell became wedge in her teeth. I order the wings and the burger again. The wings came out the same time as the other food and I noticed a strong fishy smell. Asked the waitress if they were cooked in the same oil as their fish. She went and checked yep, all deep fried food are cooked in the same oil… The burger was even worse than the 1st time. When you lady says, «She wants to eat seafood», and you don’t eat seafood your options are beyond limited. No self respecting cook would should serve that quality of food. Just because they are a seafood joint, it doesn’t excuse non sea food to be not editable!
