Beautiful presentation, amazing flavors, friendly staff. The best place in town to go for cupcakes!

The perfect little cupcake shop. Selection is just right and you can have dessert first while waiting for the nearby lunch options. I found the cupcakes moist, frosting flavorful but not too sweet, and toppings/drizzles to be excellent. Added bonus — I’m a parent with children who have artificial flavor/color sensitivities. That means I make my own chocolate sauces and cakes from scratch at home. The owner was immediately responsive to inquiries about artificial ingredients and quote, «We try to use only all natural whole foods ingredients in all of our products. I strive to use no artificial ingredients.» Obviously special orders and Seahawks colors require something artificial but having sampled the chocolate/vanilla/caramel varieties, I can say if it looks real, it is. This business isn’t taking any short-cuts with cheap artificial ingredients and it’s worth the slight cost.

Abby did our topper cake and cupcakes for our wedding. She was super accommodating for what I wanted(mini cupcakes plus a fruit cake for a topper cake). She gave us a full list of flavors, then let us pick our top ones to sample so we could narrow them down further. She is just nice as can be. The cupcakes were beautiful, and they did all the setup on the day for free. She also let us borrow cake cutters for free. And for every seven dozen cupcakes we did, she gave us one dozen for free! It was a steal! Thank you, Abby, for being wonderful! Highly recommend.

We’ve ordered from them twice for family events. Both times the cupcakes turned out nicely. They don’t seem to have quite as much variety, flavor-wise, as other places, but the«traditional» flavors we have sampled are very good.(Not a fan of the lemon — too much filling.)

I tried this place solely on the good reviews, so my experience was surprising. This shop is enticing and adorable! The staff is welcoming and I was so excited to get a treat. We ordered 2 mini cupcakes and 4 day old cupcakes for a total of $ 7.(In cupcake land that is affordable!) My mini cake was dry and lackluster, the only flavor I got was the caramel sauce on the frosting. I took a small bite and threw the rest away, totally not worth the calories. I decided to give the day old cupcakes a shot and was highly disappointed. Dry, stale and sugary are the only words I can use to describe the cakes. Why sell day old cakes if they aren’t good? My parents tried the other three flavors which were equally disappointing. And yes, I am a dessert snob but I’m so bummed we didn’t have a tasty experience!

Free Sample Saturday! They offer mini cupcakes at Abby’s Cookies and Cupcakes for your sampling pleasure. Abby’s is a fun spot because it’s in the middle of the food stand circle. I recommend their Chocolate Chip Cookie Crunch as it is a winner. I had the chance to get the Mango Cupcake also and that was good, but not as great as the CCCC!

I am the anti-cupcake. The trend annoys me. It annoys my waistline. Yet… somehow I fell for this little pink shop. My son, especially, fell for chocolate cupcakes with pink frosting. Even my husband, the cheap bastard, fell for it because they have things like Free Cookie Friday. And then they went and opened another shop not far from our house, offering things like bacon scones and artisan bread! I haven’t tried the bread, but the bacon scones are delicious. We’ve tried other cupcake places in town(can I blame that on being the mother of of a 5-year-old? I wish), but Abby’s is the best. The cupcakes are light and the frosting is creamy. The other places don’t even compare(one has cakes of weird textures, and another has greasy frosting). They do gluten free here too. I do prefer the chocolate over the vanilla — the vanilla always seems a little dry — but overall, everything is yummy here. I like the carrot cake, red velvet, pumpkin, lemon. Believe me, it seems like we have had to try them all. My husband also opted to get my birthday cake here this year, German Chocolate. Naturally, they were able to do a cute little cake, 4″ I think, perfect for a family of three. Service is always super friendly here. It probably helps that I bring an adorable kiddo in with me — most of the time.

Disapointing service. Went in today to special order 5 dozen cupcakes for Sunday. According to times on this page and phone conversation earlier in the week, Abby’s is open on Sunday. Asked for a list of possibilities. Clerk informed me that there was not a list. Suggested that I look in the case and that we could look on Facebook for past flavors. She did mention that the owner had a list when she did a wedding consult earlier. I asked if she could call the owner, which she graciously did, but owner was busy with children and did not talk to me. Owner also told her they were not open on Sunday. I do not fault the young worker –she was very pleasant, but if the owner expects to do any events she needs a list of flavors for potential customers. She may have good cupcakes, but I will not be back. Went to another cupcake store, where list was provided and placed my order

Awesome experience finding this place. I was looking for cupcake stores nearby and saw this place has high reviews from consumers. I love Unilocal because I always find hidden gems every time! Abby’s cupcakes for example is one of these hidden gems and I am glad people shared their wonderful experiences to help guide others. Now, the cupcakes. I got them basically for a kid’s birthday party. I chose a variety of flavors because I want to taste all of them(who wouldn’t? They all look so cute and delicious?!). Taste test results: cupcakes are moist, yummy and not too sweet(perfect). Hooray! I bought 2 dozens and even got a free chocolate chip cookie because it was the deal for the day(bought them on a Friday). Pricing: I think the price was definitely unbeatable. I spent less than $ 25 for 2 dozens mini cupcakes. Epic win! Location: my GPS managed to point me towards the right place without hitting any dead end! Another win! Am I going to tell my friends about this place? I’m debating about that part. The cupcakes were so delicious I just want them all to myself lol! Just kidding. My family definitely enjoyed the cupcakes and already asked me where I got them. I did tell my family about Abby’s and now I’m writing a review on Unilocal to make sure I share this wonderful place to other people who might be craving for cupcakes! Great place for cupcakes, a must try. I’m very pleased and will go back again. Thank you for reading my review: D

Delicious cupcakes! A co worker brought us cupcakes for an afternoon treat and they were amazing! Light and airy and I love the frosting! I had a cupcake with a little chocolate chip cookie on top and it was delicious! Will definitely be going back soon! YUM!

For my aunt’s wedding, Abby did the cupcakes. They went all over olympia for the best cupcakes and Abby’s won. Abby came to the venue and set up the arrangement. The cupcakes were delicious and were absolutely gorgeous. It was very hard to decide which ones to taste, so naturally I tried all nine flavors. The frosting was the best I’ve ever had. My aunts were really pleased with the small business and would like to recommend her work.

Abby’s Cookies and Cupcakes is one of the TRIFECTA(with Nineveh Assyrian and Filling Station Espresso literally just a few steps away from each other) at the corner of 4th Ave. East and Plum St. in downtown Olympia. Walking in a place that looks like a cube made of bricks with windows and a door in front, no second or third or fourth floors above and no other rooms adjoining it inside is quite an odd experience. It is just literally a ROOM made of bricks with windows on two sides and a door on the third wall. In this particular case though, looks CAN be deceiving. I visited the place the other day with the intention of just checking out what they sell and maybe coming back and buying something another time. I was promptly greeted with a warm smile by Michael. He asked me if this was my first time in the store. When I told him yes and that I was from out of town, he asked me to pick out a mini cupcake(their cupcakes come in mini and regular sizes) «on the house.» Little did I know this is the«bait» in a «hook, line and sinker» repertoire that, at the end of the experience, I was more than happy to find myself in. Looking at the board that lists the prices of the desserts(they were VERY affordable!), I reluctantly accept the offer and told him I would like to buy a regular cupcake as well. I said«reluctantly» because after I had my Chicken Shawarma from Nineveh, I DID visit Filling Station Espresso just a few steps in front of this place and finished my White Chocolate Blended Frappuccino. I told Michael my preferred flavors and he gladly recommended a couple of cupcakes. He gave me a mini chocolate cupcake(the name eludes me right at this moment) and I bought a Cookies and Cream regular cupcake. First bite and my first impression was this cupcake is moist! I know right off the bat this is a treat for adults since what’s striking about this cupcake(and the Cookies and Cream one that immediately followed) was its perfect balance of sweetness. It is not so overwhelmingly sweet like you would expect from a run-of-the-mill grocery cupcake they only seem to bake for 1st grade, classroom birthday parties! Did I mention it was good? I could’ve sworn if you look up «decadence» in the dictionary at that point in time, you will see my picture enjoying., no., SAVORING this cupcake. It was THATGOOD! Knowing I am patronizing a local business to boot, all guilt savoring these cupcakes just went out the window! :) When I got back to my car, I tried to do my «check in» for ACC. Imagine my surprise when I learned it is NOT listed on Unilocal! WHAAAAAT??? Naturally, I immediately came back inside and asked Michael for the business’ information with the intention of not just being the first to review this business, but, more importantly, to introduce it to UnilocalDOM! And there you have it! Now, every UnilocalER in Washington state and those who are just visiting, will know to visit this tiny gem in the corner of 4th and Plum in downtown Olympia. At the beginning of this review, I use the word TRIFECTA to describe Nineveh Assyrian, Filling Station Espresso and Abby’s Cookies and Cupcakes. I am confident you can bet your taste buds to any of these three establishments here and come out on top. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED! I WILL be back. Again., and again…, and., well, you get the picture. :P
