Amazing! Very gluten-free friendly! My husband and I stopped here by chance on our way back to Portland and were blown away by flavor. He had the Carne Patacon and I had the Vegetarian Arepa, and we highly recommend both. High quality Latin street food… be sure to stop here if you’re ever in Olympia.

The arepas were great– not dry at all. At $ 7 each, they seem a little expensive. The fries were excellent! A light touch on the truffle oil. I’d like a little more of that. I feel like the owner could be friendlier. She is a bit gruff.

I had a vet appointment for my one-eyed beagle in Olympia and since it was a beautiful day, I thought we would hit the food trucks and take a walk. I found Arepa in a corner lot with many other food trucks. I ordered a dish that had a thick, fried cake of masa with scrumptious toppings, including shredded cabbage, spicy chicken and a spicy sauce. It has been a few months, so I don’t remember the name of the dish, but the beagle and I both found it to be DELISH!

This is my favorite place to eat in all of Olympia. I come here as often as I can and always bring visitors here. The food is incredible, there are vegan and vegetarian options and the service is always friendly! Highly recommend!

Well below average for food quality and taste. Not seasoned right and the amount of sauce they give you is enough to for one bite. Lots of deep fried stuff. Two stars instead of one just because it is a food truck and the prices are«ok». Much better food in the neighboring truck.

Ordered the steak chimichuri, arepa reina, side salad, an order of tostones. Steak chimichuri came with lots of fries… fries seasoned well, steak was cooked medium well(which I prefer) but the chimichuri sauce was mediocre… I’ve had chimichuri sauce where i would lick the plate clean… it wasn’t bad for the price $ 10.50. We didn’t get the arepa reina… We got the paragon reina instead… My husband didn’t want to complain… So he tried it… It was alright… Not something we haven’t tasted before but we would like to try the arepa next time. The creamy sauce is good though… The tostones didn’t come with a cream sauce… we got the vinegar oil dipping sauce in a tiny dipping container. The tostones was very dry with no flavor except the sprinkle of a little salt in the middle. He wasn’t busy… We were the only one that ordered and about 5 minutes or so another small order came in. The guy didn’t seem friendly and we’ve tried multiple food trucks before… I was disappointed… I had higher expectations due to the reviews and pictures…

Very nice food truck! lots of different selections. if you go at closing they are very rushed and they will forget things. so please be sure to check your order before you take it home. I am giving you three stars because the arepa was a pretty dry. Their steak and fries were delicious. But once again just make sure you check the order because they can screw it up when they are rushed. with this been said I would still highly recommend this place.

We were in town for just a few hours, and saw the great reviews on this place so decided to do lunch here. We were not disappoitned. The Puerco & Carne Arepas were delicious(I liked the Puerco better, but still, both were good). Also had the yuca fries(great!) and the Tostones(sp?) which were also tasty. Good food! Will be back someday. :)

My wife got the vegetarian arepa and it was an amazingly tasty experience. Lots of different tastes and textures in one massive sandwich. I really liked the addition of the plantain that gave it a little sweet note among lots of savory fillings. I ended up getting the steak and fries. I was a little disappointed by the portion and lack of sauce, but it was a pretty tasty bite I probably should have opted for the arepa instead… especially since the darn place is called Arepa. I gotta stop doing that. Their online ordering system still has a few kinks, but the pod is a pretty decent size with seating. Next time I think I’ll just belly up to the truck.

The arepas here are delicious, and the vegan option is top notch. Their sauces are original, service is fast, but a bit on the pricey side especially for drinks. Well worth it, check this place out!

I have driven by Arepa so many times and I’m glad I finally tried it, I’d been missing out! I had the Moderna with chicken and a «side» of fries, both were delicious. The Moderna was really good, and I ordered it because it had cabbage, cheese, tomatoes and pink sauce, so it seemed a bit more complex than the arepas, but because the arepa underneath everything was fried, it was on the heavy side. Definitely delicious, but would like to try an arepa next time around. The chimichurri and pink sauces are delicious, such great flavor, especially with their seasoned fries with herbs and truffle oil. Everything was delicious and each component was so good on its own. It almost makes me want to like plantains so I can try more of their menu, almost, but never in this lifetime. Bottom line is that Arepa is delicious!

Okay, you gotta get the steak over fries!!! It has chimichurri sauce over it, oh my, it hits the spot!!! I live in Beaverton, and made the trek out here twice. Now the first time I got it, they were very generous on their steak, but the second time around, there wasn’t as much. I understand it’s a business and maybe the price of steak went up, but it just didn’t seem worth the price anymore. But nonetheless, it’s so yummy. I tried their arepa reina which has the chicken salad in it, I didn’t care much for it because I didn’t like how dense the arepa is. Obviously it was my first time at a Venezuelan place, so I didn’t know what to expect when eating an arepa. But yeah definitely get the steak.

Pretty darn good! My husband and I had arepas tonight and an order of tostones. He had the cubana, and I had the carne arepa. I’m half Venezuelan, so I grew up eating arepas very often. It definitely was similar to what my mother made me as a child. I wish they had put a more traditional cheese(a white cheese) on the carne arepa instead of cheap shredded yellow cheese. The tostones were spot on, and the guasacaca was pretty good too. I look forward to trying the cachapa on my next visit to see if it can rival my mother’s!

I really like the food here.(I’ve only had the patacons and fried plantains, and they were delicious.) The portions are generous, and it’s tasty as hell. I’ve had some«off» avocados at points, but that’s OK. 4 stars for the food, –1 for customer service. They often close before 7. Several times I’ve rushed to the truck and arrived at 6:40, only for them to be closed. And while you can place orders on their website(which requires up front payment), they are frequently out of the item in question and will not refund you at that time. More than once, we’ve placed a web order, went to pick it up 30 mins later, been told that they’re out of said order, and we can’t get our money back. It took me 2 days to get a refund. I like their food, and if they improved their customer service, this would be a 5-star food truck.

have driven past this place a few times before and always wanted to try it out. Finally stopped by for my first time today for a quick bite. Tried the vegetarian arepa. i’ve never tasted one before so I don’t know what to compare it to. I ordered mine without onions but added cheese my total was over $ 10. I thought it was very tasty but it was a bit pricey. I may come back to try a few other dishes but this is someplace I could not afford to eat very regularly.

First I just want to say that I am not writing a bad review to be mean. I’m writing it because I care and want the owner to be successful by learning from mistakes and guest feedback. Also, the photos from other reviewers show beautiful creations and look nothing like what I received. This makes me think that maybe I just ordered the one bad item on the menu, or maybe I was there on their one and only bad day. Because of this I’m willing to try this place one more time, and change/update my review. To the owner of Arepa: can we arrange a replacement meal? Despite what I said up above I’m still giving this one star because my dish was awful. Consistency is key as you only get one chance to make a first impression. I thought I had stumbled upon the hidden Mecca for foodies, but was so disappointed. This food bus is located in the down town vicinity(4th& Plum) next to a small cupcake store, California Tacos, a Greek/Med bus, and a hamburger cart. In the center is a small grassy area with picnic benches. It’s a great atmosphere except for the bees(nothing you can do), and the limited parking. After examining all options this one looked the best plus I saw plantains all over the menu. I love plantains and tostones. I ordered the vegetariana arepa and a side of tostones. The lady inside informed me that it would take around 11 mins. as it’s made fresh and I was oh so ok with that. The vegetarian arepa consists of avocado, black beans, caramelized onions, and sweet plantain. The arepa it’s self was a soft pillow of muffin like goodness. That was the best part. The sandwich it’s self was the blandless thing I’ve ever eaten. No flavor at all. The plantains were burnt and unchewable. I dumped both containers of creamy avocado all over it and it still was as boring as eating a candle. I had to cover it in cholula just to get it down. The plantains looked like dog poop. The tostones were hard as wood and also completely flavorless. I don’t know how something with such good ingredients can be so plain. It’s like magic but the bad kind. Like sandwich voodoo or culinary gypsy curses. Please see photo…

Oh my goodness… where to start? the arepas… yes, there. The reina arepa is SO good!!! It is not like the traditional reina pepiada, but it still is delicious. The chicken is shredded and in a mayo/cilantro sauce that is so tasty. It also has avocados, so it automatically is amazing. The ropa vieja was ok to me, but my boyfriend LOVED it. For some reason I thought it would be like my beloved pabellon criollo :(oh well, the shredded beef was very tender and the rice was cooked very well! The fried plantains are the best things to eat… ever. I recommend eating it with the cilantro sauce and the salsa verde they have to the right of the food truck. They are sweet and cooked perfectly. yay! The cachapa is the best I have had since my Abuela made it for me years ago. It is so crisp on the outside and gooey on the inside. The queso mano is SO good. They top it with crema and it is worth all of the calories… all of them. SO why the four stars? They didn’t have guasacaca(which makes me sad), emapanadas, tenequenos, or some of the traditional street food from Venezuela… but what they DO have is perfect. TRYTHEMNOW.

Seems like almost every town has a little food truck rodeo spot now, and evidently Olympia is no exception. On 4th, occupying what seems like it used to be a fairly under-used parking lot, sit 4 food trucks and a coffee shop. It’s a cool combination of places – there’s a middle eastern place, a breakfast place, a cupcake place, an ooooold gas station that now serves espresso, and Arepa. Arepa just happened to be the place we picked to eat; they all appear to work together very well. Seems like during the week there’s room for other places to pull in and set up. There’s a little bit of parking in the gravel, and the whole thing is welcoming and pleasant. Inexpensive picnic tables and patio tables probably picked up wherever they could find them, all shared by all the businesses here. There are some cheerful bushes and flowers around the main eating area, and brick pavers to keep the tables level and the mud off your shoes. There are college-age kids eating along the retaining wall, young families on the benches, couples(and singles) strolling through. It almost feels like it’s turned into a tiny park while people wait for their food. The staff at Arepa are super, super nice. The cashier patiently walked us through menu choices, since we live a long drive away and wanted to make sure we tried the best combination of dishes. Yeah, if it were super busy, we woulda been the kinda people who drive everyone crazy, but we took advantage of a brief lull in the line to chat her up. We ended up with the«Steak,» which is steak bites over steak fries, and the avocado salad(can’t remember the name now, but check the pictures others have posted). The steak comes out in moderately thick chunks diced fairly small, grilled, then served with a fresh chimichurri sauce that was very flavorful and bright green. They could have shredded the meat to make it last as long as the fries, but the chewier, thicker bites were perfect. The fries were kinda salty for me, but I am always the first person in the group to wish for a bit less salt. And between the two of us, they all disappeared. The salad was fantastic, with a commendably light cream sauce, finely shredded cabbage, delicious shredded pork, and a great tostone under it all. They only have a couple of pops available, and they charge pretty much like a regular lunch place would charge you. But the food is fantastic, and there’s no doubt that’s worth it. Anybody who likes food trucks and eating outside should thoroughly enjoy this place.

Truly a great place! The food was delicious. We ordered an arepa carne, patacon carne, and a side of seasoned fries. We thought portions were quite generous for the patacon and sides. Price was great for the patacon, as you do get quite a large heaping of meat and everything else. I have to agree with the gentleman in the previous review about the condition of the arepa buns. It was not crunchy like we were led to believe. In fact, it was quite soggy from the very moment the order came out. Also, while we were there, we witnessed an encounter between the staff and a very displeased customer. The lady manning the truck was extremely professional and calm, and took care of the matter with ease to give this customer a good experience. That right there was great customer service. And that along with the great food makes it hard to pass this place up!

Good not great… The food was good but too overpriced for what you get I ordered the veggie arepa for $ 7 with a side salad added for $ 1.50 and a side of truffle fries for $ 3 The fries were delicious, near perfect and good amount for a reasonable price. The vegetarian arepa is the same price as meat, but it only has avocado and black beans. The side salad was a bagged grocery store salad with one old tomato, some slices of avocado and drizzled in balsamic oil — it tasted like someone made it in their dorm room The food was mostly fresh and the service was nice but it’s bland and overpriced
