Here’s a little story from this time when it was still a state run liquor store. The Mrs. and I were walking up from the parking lot and as we approached we see this Jeep half way parked in the beauty bark and the road. Just as we walked in there’s this totally wasted and cantankerous lady probably in her sixties trying to walk out with a half gallon of whiskey and the staff in her way. She throws the hooch at this guy, misses his head, and it shatters on the ground. She hops in the Jeep and peels out of there spraying beauty bark on the side walk. I thought to myself that you don’t see that everyday and the west side sure has gained a lot of character over the years. The next time I was in there I asked the clerk whatever happened to that lady. Did she get arrested? He told me that she was the former secretary of state and a regular customer. Her son came in the next day to apologize and pay for the booze. It’s interesting that there is such a stark contrast between when an older white lady with a fancy resume attempts to steal booze and when a young black male tries to steal beer. One doesn’t even have the police called and the other gets a bullet in them. G3 has growler fills for much, much, much cheaper than a Nascar grease monkey themed establishment just down the strip mall from them. Like the previous reviewer noted much of the beer isn’t refrigerated but there is a good selection that is. The liquor selection is decent. Now that the joint is no longer in the evil clutches of the government one may indulge in previously unavailable delights such as Everclear. Always a good one if you need to sterilize a wound or forget where the toilet is and piss in your closet. They also have a glass musket and six shooter filled with tequila along with a skull of vodka. I like the staff there. I believe a couple are from when it was a state run place. They are always helpful and friendly. If you’re in the market for booze in that neck of the woods I would recommend stopping there first and supporting a local business then head over to Total Wine and More for the rest of what you need to get wasted. Cheers everybody!

DONOTGOHEREFORBEER. The selection is very very small. In that selection I found an entire array of well past drinkable beers. One was a SN Pale Ale bottled in November 2014. This is completely unacceptable in every single way. Even if we go strictly off the brewer’s «best by» date this beer expired months ago. On top of that those dates are generous and hoppy beers should be drank as fresh as possible(less than 1 month, sooner the better). Local business or not I am more than happy to never come back if you cannot provide your customers with a product worth buying. I am drinking a Dayglow IPA bottled on 8÷7÷15 that I bought at Safeway instead. Maybe go here for liquor, but no point wasting your time even looking at the beer they have here. Sadly you will be better off at Safeway.
