Walked in yesterday for the first time. Asked the manager for assistance finding a nice WA white wine(I’m usually a reds girl but wanted to branch out). We discussed my likes/dislikes and what I wanted to pair it with. He suggested a nice Riesling which I was skeptical of as all the ones I’ve ever tried have been like syrup. Decided to give it a go and, truthfully, I wasn’t disappointed. It paired nicely with my roasted chicken. I could also see it working really well with a nice salad of stone fruit and goat cheese. I’ll def be back in again soon.

I love coming here and selecting a different bottle each time. Not unlike perusing through books at an old book store, the wine loft enlivens a giddiness in me that I am so rarely afforded in this world of ‘on-the-go’. Though my selections are at times a miss, the enjoyment of trial and error are by far well worth it. Imagine getting lost in a book store, dusting off an old book, taking it home and preparing for an adventure. Even if it leads you astray, the adventure is always worth it, and if it locks you in, as you turn one page to another remember the wine loft and all the adventures offered to your imagination… In a bottle.

So many wines to choose from. It was organized chaos in there. Personally, I think they have too many. It makes the place look like it’s trying to get rid of overstocked items and less inviting. We still managed to purchase a tasty italian wine.

This is a great little wine shop. Jim and Mary used to own a restaurant in town, and then decided to go into the wine biz. They know a lot about wines, and are very good about recommending a good wine to accompany your meal. If you like a special type of wine, they will let you know when they can get you a discounted price. They are very good about recommending wines that are a good value. They are very friendly and helpful. In contrast, I went into the Olympic Wine Merchant several times, and was never greeted and got the feeling that they didn’t care if they got my business. Now I go to The Wine Loft.

Looks like a wine store. Smells like a wine store(that musty smell of wine, cork and cheese, yum). Aisles are narrow, full of wines. IS wine store! I’m a big fan of NW wines, especially our great Washington state ones. The Wine Loft has a very good and diverse selection as well as others from around the world. Prices are fair. The staff helpful to «experts» and noobies alike with out being pretentious(one of my favorite wine tasting words) Now if they only sold Cote de Rotie for $ 10 a bottle…

Yes, tasting Saturdays are very crowded. That’s the fun of it. Extremely knowledgeable owners and staff. A super friendly crowd. Best $ 12 cheap date in Oly!

Very helpful and friendly staff. We found an excellent inexpensive Pinot Noir as well as an amazing hard cranberry cider thats made in Oregon. Will definitely go back next visit to Olympia!

Swirl… sniff sniff… taste… glug glug glug… REPEAT! Wine, it’s such a guilty little pleasure and let me tell you this place is stocked as if they knew what Nostradamus didn’t, the end of the world is next Tuesday, but don’t worry we got plenty of wine to help you get through it. It’s a sweet little shop located on Olympia’s waterfront. It is run by a husband and wife that seem to have advice for all your wine related questions. One can also appreciate their subtle sense of humor, example their closed sign denotes *shhh the bottles are sleeping*. There is a charming little outdoor patio perfect for wine tasting events. The space inside however would surely be a test of stamina for anyone who suffers from claustrophobia and a fear of wine bottles for they are everywhere. Stacked in boxes on the floor and stuffed into every nook and cranny this selection will keep you busy for awhile or at least until the next apocalypse. Excuse me. I have to get back to this… Swirl… sniff sniff… taste… glug glug glug…
