Nice folks and a fair selection, but WOW — they need to revamp their prices with a quickness. For example: Cruzan Dark Rum is $ 15.82 before tax here, while it’s about $ 11.50 at every other store I checked. Lucid Absinthe is $ 97.28(?!) while it’s about $ 62 at every other store. Note that I didn’t misread a price-per-liter sticker as the bottle price, either; I asked, and the sales person said those were indeed the bottle prices. Whatever I don’t end up ordering online or buying while visiting Portland, I’ll be getting elsewhere until their prices become competitive.

So, I’m thinking about drinking… let’s say Gin and Tonics for the night. In Arizona, you head to Safeway and buy Gin(because your favorite brand has the special Safeway club card price), Tonic, Limes, and Ice. In Washington you can try to do the same: Maybe you can try and do some comparison shopping to find the best deal around? Oh, the price is the same everywhere in the state? You then go to the Liquor Store and pick up the Gin(I love the idea of someone getting paid by the state picking which booze to put on sale and for how much). Shouldn’t it make sense for a store devoted to selling liquor to have mixers… nope.(In fairness, they do have some mixers, but those mixers have 1% ABV.) At least a lime? Nay. They must at least carry ice, what could be wrong with selling ice? No. The people in the store are nice enough even given that they are made to wear unfortunately stupid looking vests. The store is clean, and they don’t run out of what I want too often. But the idea… cmon…
