Expensive for my first try at having 3 shirts brought in. Quality work. 7 day turn around for 2 polos & a T-shirt.

I was really looking forward to heading here after reading the previous reviews. Although I was perfectly satisfied with the alterations I had done, I was appalled at the service. I interacted with the same woman when I was fitted and again when I picked up my dress and each time she had several rude quips directed at my garment and at me personally. So bizarre. $ 48 to take in an inch of my straps on a dress while peppered with rude and unnecessary comments? No thanks. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Where to bring your precious items, things you need to be perfect, and stuff you just need a qualified tailor’s opinion on? Here. They had great service, advice and patience as I worked through my items and even changed my mind a couple times. They know the process of how long it takes to get items done, and how much they charge for various elements. They have been in business for years over 30, and can give you an accurate no-pressure quote based on their experience.

Attention designers– Lady Lynn’s alterations and fabrics is a little gem. Bookmark this store! This is a dress makers shop with a beautiful array of silks, cottons, linens, and wools in a variety of textures and colors. On this trip, I bought a hand dyed turquoise blue cotton batiste with a silver thread running through, a grey blue and charcoal in a soft boucle wool for suiting and a beautiful heather style wool in blue, turquoise, navy, grey and black.(I was on a blue theme!) There was also, a cool dusty rose pink silk that looked like dotted Swiss, and another pink that looked like mesh. In other words– you are going to see some unusual fabrics and textures. So if you want something not everyone else will have– this is your store! The women working there were interested in what I was making, were attentive and friendly. Remember they also do alterations, too. If you don’t sew, taking a garment apart to size it seems like a nightmare. If you are trained and experienced– it is easy to do, it just takes time. And that is what you pay for. Next time you want to sew something special, try shopping at Lady Lynn’s. It will be amazing!:)

Yes, they are expensive. But I’ve gone to two other places over the years, which have turned out to be bad experiences– two skirts completely ruined so I could never wear them again. So I end up going back to Lady Lynn’s because what they alter, I can wear.

I don’t know why I always forget about this place, but today after the folks at the big box fabric store were rude to me and didn’t have what I wanted, I was riding by Lady Lynn’s and thought«what the heck, let’s see what they have». The woman working was awesome, willing to talk to me about all kinds of different options. I’m making my own skirt for my wedding, but I’m a super-beginning seamstress, so I have a lot of questions about how different fabrics are going to drape. She was super helpful and gave me lots of different options and ideas. I was also thinking the prices were going to be a lot higher than the box store, but they weren’t. They had a greater range of fabrics from fancy silks to basic cotton, and the prices were consistent with the box store I had just come from(where they didn’t have what I wanted anyway). Zippers were all about half the price. It is a little funky, with a lot of awesome things in a really small space. I recommend just asking for help to find what you want, you could wander forever without finding it, although that could be fun too.

I brought a bridesmaid dress in to be taken in. She was very sweet both on the phone and in person. It was $ 85…which may or may not be a good price, I’ve never had a garment like that taken in. She did a WONDERFUL job. You can’t tell at all that it was taken in(in a good way). She was quick too, less than a week(around 5 days). The building is a little weird. An old house, or possibly attached to her house. It’s cramped in there, but that doesn’t matter to me, since she did such a wonderful and speedy job on the dress.

A nice, no nonsense shop where the staff seem to know their stuff. Set an appointment and beware of the tiny parking lot. Don’t be offended if you ask a question and recieve a unison«No.» from the staff. It’s a good sign, really.

this place is rather surreal — it seems to be attached to her house, and there’s just a curtain between, so every so often there is a cat there going«o.0 wtf are you doing in my house?» this may also be because there is very little business, or at least quite few people venturing into the shop part of the… shop. it’s crammed, probably twelve or so square feet, with fabric and notions and… sewing machine thingers. bits. it’s pretty awesome, and they’re very cheerful — at least to me, in a «wow a young person sewing» way or else maybe just a «oh hurray, someone buying something!» way. hours are vague, i think related to that low-business and in-a-house thing. it’s hard to tell if they’re open or not without going up to the door, so i suggest that you do that.
