We used MK home inspections to inspect a property we were interested in. Mike was a seasoned professional with a construction background that was very useful in gauging damage and quality of the structure. I was impressed of his ability to go above and beyond. Although it was wet from the rain he still brought his ladder and got on the roof that was 4 stories. From afar the roof had some moss showing which could mean a huge expense pending on how bad the damage was, however, from his inspection on the roof he was able to determine some annual maintenance would be sufficient.
His pricing was very fair. He explained the issues and what it would take to repair. Provided some DIY guidance and general estimates on costs. He also provided a detailed analysis of the inspection in less than 4 hours. The inspection only took 2 hours and we went from the roof all the way to the foundation of the garage.

We highly recommend using Mike for any and all home inspection needs. Mike came recommended by a friend in the south sound and we were surprised to find that he travels all over the greater Puget Sound doing inspections. Our previous experiences with home inspectors has been minimal but notably not as good as our recent inspections with Mike. We have used his services twice now and look forward to using him again if the need should arise as he is very thorough and didn’t hesitate to answer any questions we had. One of those questions was in regard to buying a home with an oil tank and what to know about oil tank regulations… Mike had all the answers and his confidence and knowledge showed, making us feel confident about the information that he was providing. Mike also charged a very reasonable rate (slightly less than other inspectors quoted me) and was willing to come out to meet me at the residence within a day of my call, which is in Seattle. He had no problem with making the trip and it should be noted that he was on time for both inspections we hired him to do. It’s tough to find a knowledgable home inspector that will travel out of their general area and actually do a very thorough inspections upon arrival… including deep down in the dank and moist crawl space and up in our tiny stuffy attic. I can’t say enough about MK inspection services. We were first time home buyers looking for a home in one of the most competitive markets in the country. Having done 4 inspections on different homes before finding the right one Mike was very thorough in his inspection, detailing the condition & potential costs involved in buying each house. He was very generous in describing the work that needed to be done or the overall mechanics of each issue. We found ourselves needing to waive inspections to be competitive and doing pre-​inspections with Mike gave us the confidence to either move forward with making an offer or let us know that we would have been in over our heads. We also got a full and very detailed report that we can now use as a to-​do list for repairs or general maintenance that we should be doing on our home.
