Refabulous

I absolutely LOVE Refabulous!
About 3 years ago, I took the Sewing 101 class. My sewing experience to that point had been some very poorly re-​attached buttons. Since then, I’ve sewn shopping bags, a dress for my daughter, a number of repairs, created buttonholes, and repaired a crocheted blanket that my Mother In Law made for my oldest when he was a baby.
My skills with physically artistic tasks, like sewing, are quite challenged. I continue to return to Refabulous for my ongoing education, particularly during Open Sew.

My sister-​in-​law and I made aprons last fall in one of the Holiday classes. Talk about an incredible value for what you pay for! It was $ 25, and we got privately tutored for 4 hours (a whole hour past the scheduled time) by Kamuela, an amazing, gracious, and good-​humored teacher. I’m thankful she was patient with me, because this was only my second time using a sewing machine to make something. Half-​way through, I ordered a delicious mocha from the café they have up front, then got back to work.
I learned a lot, and my husband is super impressed with my new apron. Kamuela was such a pleasure to learn from. THANKS KAMUELA! :)

This place is truly an inspired sewing studio. There is a café, a retail space, and smaller studio, and the main community sewing. class space as well. I stumbled across their Facebook page a few months ago, and ended up hitching a ride to the Puyallup Sewing Expo. The community is amazing! The ladies are open, kind, and so, so helpful! They really want everyone to learn to sew. I took the Sewing 101 class and haven’t stopped yet! They also offer many more sewing classes as well. I’m making a skirt and make handbags now too! The café makes delicious latte’s, Italian sodas, and chai teas. Oh, and the cookies and croissants sold there are out of this world! There is open sew time where anyone can come get to know the community and sew. There are multiple people who can help out with troubleshooting, or just getting motivated. I LOVE this place!

I absolutely LOVE this place! The owner is incredible! I’ve taken a few classes here, a sewing basics 101 and some make it togethers with my 3 year old. Kamuela is incredibly patient and creative. Both my daughter and I really enjoy going there and the projects we’ve completed through Refabulous hold places of honor in our house. Her sewing 101 class really built my confidence. And the lattes and hot cocoa are scrumptious! Can’t recommend this enough!

Kamuela is so talented I am so grateful to her for sharing her love of sewing. I started last year, took her sewing 101 and 102 class. I have never sewn anything before. I can’t believe the beautiful things I am making now. My friends and family are so impressed. I owe it all to Kamuela. I couldn’t have done it with out her. What a great ego boost! I have a sewing room now and have everything I need, but I still go there for help and inspiration. It’s fun to hang out and visit, have a latte and something sweet to eat.

I discovered this place last spring and am so glad I did. I would recommend Refabulous to anyone who loves to sew or has thought about learning because: Kamuela is very helpful and patient when I need help with a sewing project like costumes or party favors for a birthday, her Creative Thursday classes are a lot fun and a nice place to relax and actually complete a sewing project in one evening (I didn’t know that was possible), and her Make it Together class is a fun and creative way to spend a Saturday with my daughters.

This place is awesome! If you’ve ever wanted to learn to sew, this is the place. I tried to learn for years, not really putting in the effort. Then someone told me about the sewing 101 class they offer at ReFabulous. I thought that maybe I just couldn’t sew, no matter what. But Kamuela’s love and knowledge of sewing and creating really inspired me. Now I can make basic items and troubleshoot my own sewing machine. I definitely recommend this place!
