Did my clinical hours here. If this is your ONLY option for your family member and they have to go here, don’t stop going in o visit them. The staff are very lazy here and if a residents family stops caring then so do the staff. The residents are often ignored by the supervising nurse so she can talk on the phone. When giving showers the staff have to move very quickly to keep everyone on schedule and for them quicker means rougher. Then everyone is rushed to breakfast and just kinda left to fall asleep at the table or if they are capable of it to wander after finishing their meals. Their whole day revolves around medication time meal time sleep time repeat. To hear the staff address these residents you can’t help but feel embarrassed to be a part of the same generation as that person. I have worked with memory care (dementia, Alzheimer’s) for a while and I understand that their brains do not process information in the same way as someone without memory care problems would but the residents are spoken to as if they are two years old. Reprimanded instead of respected. Its a disgusting place.
