Here is the problem with NEPA. Three guys named Jay, Larry, and Brian all suspiciously with the same last name«L.» post a five star review of a mediocre sandwich place. So I thought to myself, «don’t be cynical just because almost everything else in this God forsaken place is corrupt that does not mean that the M-1 reviews on Unilocal are fixed.» So I go to the M-1, and I order the famed cheesesteak. Much to my chagrin it was a store bought steakumm. But if I must be honest it was more than that for me. For me it was eatable confirmation that I live in a barren wasteland filled with unwashed savages to whom nothing, not even Unilocal is sacred. I cried, and even the salt from my tears could not add flavor to my bland monstrosity of a cheesesteak. So if you want to taste the gall of bitterness and defeat head half way up the mountain outside of Olyphant, and savor the flavor of broken dreams at the M-1 deli.

This place hasn’t changed a bit since I was a kid & for that I’m eternally grateful. Family owned & operated for many, many years they never lack on quality. The Texas Cheesesteak is a home run!

VERY nice staff, good selection of hoagies and weiners/burgers and things. A totally weird/awesome upstairs seating area. Has a great family feel to it
