Great food great service. Go if you have the chance. We had a chicken enchilada, tamale and pork carnitas. All were well executed. Atmosphere is very comfortable and a little more upscale than expected. Hear the table side guacamole rocks. Will try next time.

My daughter and I had lunch there recently and we were both very pleased. The service was excellent and the food was delicious with fresh and tasty ingredients. Not your usual«same old, same old», We are looking forward to introducing friends and family to this locally owned restaurant.

Absolutely amazing guacamole made right at your table!!! It was super delicious and fresh. Service was excellent!!! This is my new favorite Mexican food restaurants in town. I also got the Baja fish tacos that were delicious!!! The fish was fried to perfection. That it huge for me to say because I am from San Diego and we have really good fish tacos back home!!! I will keep going back!!!

We had excellent service from(Steve?) this past Sunday for lunch. Place is excellent– food is 5 stars. Fresh and thoughtfully prepared, not a pile of sloppy goop like you see at some other Mexican places in town. Peach margs are fantastic, I could close my eyes and pretend I was in Mexico. Yummmmmmmm Nice décor, modern cozy interior. 5 stars, will make it a regular stop on the Omaha visits.

We had a great experience. Clean(even the high chairs!), good salsa(a little spicy, which we like), great food. We had chicken enchiladas suiza and pollo tequila chipotle with a side of cheese dip. Could taste the ingredients, all in good balance. Meat was very tender and good cuts. No complaints. Great service. There were only a few other tables seated, so would be interested to see if the service & food is as good when they are busy. Our favorite Mexican place in Omaha so far. It’s a little more expensive than say, Cilantros, but food is worth it.

Slow lunch service on my most recent visit. I appreciated the manager stepping in to help move things along. The chipotle chicken burrito from the lunch menu is divine. The chipotle cream sauce is smoky, sweet, and elevates the interior of the burrito. I also like the white dip served with the chips and salsa. It is tangy and creamy, which is an interesting contrast from the salsa. I look forward to trying some other dishes during future visits.

What a great find in a strip mall near HyVee! The interior was modern and artistic, not at all the kitschy stereotypical«Mexican» place we are all so used to. The food had clean, bold flavors and was arranged on the plate in an aesthetically pleasing way – again not like the usual slop down of beans and rice you so often see. The carnitas tacos were amazing. The pork was slow roasted and fatty while the salsa was acidic and bright, making for the perfect flavor combination. The salsa is piquant and tastes like more than tomatoes and onions. The chips come hot in baskets within seconds of your arrival, and in addition to the salsa they also come with a small side of a zesty white cream sauce. It wasn’t at all what I expected, but ended up being tasty on everything! The drinks are on the expensive side, but the margaritas we had at our table were both strong and flavorful. The service was excellent as well. Our server was personable, attentive, and very polite. She anticipated needs and met them. I will definitely be back… I’ve just found my new go-to Mexican restaurant!

Salsa ok. Similar to Chevy’s chain. Don’t quite know what to do with the white sauce. Mayo? Blech. I had pork with a red sauce. Sauce had a little spice but really liked the flavor and heat on the salsa that came with it. Rice a little dry. Black beans average. Came with flour tortillas that tasted as I could get from a store. Didn’t offer corn tortillas which I would have preferred. Guest had chorizo stuffed chicken and said his chicken was very dry and tough. Food a little slow coming out. Would probably try again to sample a different item.

Tableside guacamole is always a winner with me… The rest of the menu was a priced slightly higher than expected, but the dishes we ordered had some«higher end» twists versus the traditional Mexican fare… They also had a clown making balloon animals for the kids… Great touch!

I am in town visiting my husband from Arizona, and I can never turn down a Mexican food restaurant… Agave Azteca far exceeded my expectations! The service was great, the food was exceptional, and the décor was on-point. My husband found the menu very busy and hard to focus on what to order because there was so much going on in the background, but once he settled on what to get her was very impressed, which says a lot coming from him. My oldest daughter got the kids burrito, and she was impressed as well, no surprise ingredients(onions) and said she liked that they«made it look fancy like an adult meal» I ordered the Texas Fajitas, and loved it. It really hit the spot, and I loved that I had enough to bring leftovers home for my husband to take to work tomorrow. I have already recommended this restaurant to my family that lives in town, and I plan to be back!

This is a wonderful addition to the west Omaha restaurant scene. Ask for the secret menu item OMG Nachos! Many other wonderful dishes that make for the best presentation of Mexican food in Omaha and flavors rivaled by none!

Decent reviews on Unilocal led us here. The place is really clean, and has fun décor. The high backed booths definitely allow for a bit more intimacy — but weren’t very comfortable. It may have been because my dinner mate and I are on the short side, but the table also felt awkwardly high. Table salsa is on point with a great kick, and the seafood chimichangas I had were a nice combination of sweet and flavorful. Other surprising elements: you can choose white or Mexican rice, black beans or retried beans, and dinner plates only come with one of those items, which I really liked because the portions were perfect. Service was great. I’d definitely return to get my Mexi food fix!

The chips were excellent. Fresh, hot, crispy. Salsa was average and very mild. I like my salsa with more kick. Their tacos are described as a corn tortilla deep fried, I thought this might be similar to my favorite tacos at Nettie’s that do this but it was just like an Old El Paso taco shell from the box, like at home. Ground beef was bland. I make better tacos at home when you just throw the hamburger in a pan with seasoning and open a box of shells, pull out the cheese, lettuce, etc. you get the picture… The quesadilla was an 8 in flour tortilla stuff with shredded beef that was hard to bite thru, had to use knife and fork. Minimal cheese. Again you can now buy this shredded stuff at the store and throw it in your own pan in a couple min. I suggest you do that. Sour cream comes with most menu items and all quesadillas on the menu but if you get the lunch combo with it, it comes plain. I’ve never gotten something like a quesadilla or such item they didn’t come with a little set up of salsa, sour cream, small scoop of guacamole… This is plain. If you want sour cream it’s a big scoop for .99. I didn’t see very many menu item that came with both rice and beans. It’s one or the other. Another very unusual thing. Most Mexican restaurant dishes give you both. Beans were exceptionally bland. If you thought Carlos O Kelleys(currently out of business) reheated frozen tasting meals were great, then this is your new place. I prefer to go a few more blocks to 114th and do Cilantros. Margarita menu looked good and extensive. I saw one for $ 12. I didn’t have one. I can’t think of a reason to try this again with Cilantros only 5 minutes away and if you’re willing to make the drive for some balls to the wall authentic, been around 30+ years Mexican, head to Nettie’s in Bellevue!

A friend and I had dinner here on a Friday night. The restaurant is in an unassuming strip mall next to HyVee(and is actually a little difficult to find). The inside is colorful and nicely decorated, though. We sat in the bar area and were promptly brought complimentary chips with salsa and another creamy dipping sauce and waters. I ordered the Blue Margarita to start and really liked it. They have an extensive drink menu and have several drink options that are quite different from what you typically find at other Mexican restaurants. We also started off with the table side guacamole. You can choose what ingredients you want in it and how hot you want it. We opted for all the ingredients and went with a medium level heat. The guacamole is served in a heavy pig dish that is really cute. Ultimately, though, this dish was a miss for us. The guacamole didn’t have much flavor, despite having all their ingredient options in it, and I would not order it again. For my entrée I went with the Chipotle Chicken Burrito. The burrito was very large and had a great flavor. It was stuffed full of chicken and cheese and topped with a queso cheer sauce. My friend ordered the chicken fajitas and really enjoyed them. Both of our dishes were very generous portions, but I noticed some of the other dishes were really tiny. They were served with beans and rice, but were still very small considering the prices of the dishes. This place sets itself apart from other Mexican restaurants in the area in that they have an extensive drink menu with unique options, and have good presentation of their dishes, many of which also have unusual flavors. I would definitely come back here again.

2 ½ stars, but I rounded up because they are trying. Really wanted to like Agave Azteca. No major objections, but by the end of the evening my wife and I had paid $ 50 for a dinner that was not at all special. Friendly service(though I would have appreciated it if the server pointed out that House margaritas were on special at $ 3.99 on Mondays), felt welcome. We sat in a booth and it just wasn’t that comfortable. Both of us felt as though we could have used a bit more room between us and the table. And the table wobbled, a minor pet peeve of mine. Margaritas came in a highball glass, another pet peeve. I like a big rim for margaritas, more salt that way. My wife had the Patron and neither of us cared for it. Mine, a «Texas,» was pretty good. For entrees I had beef chimichangas, Trish had a chicken burrito. Hers was pretty good. Mine was OK, but I have to admit that on a good day Abelardos or Linas are much better, albeit without the ambiance.

Visited this place over Memorial Day weekend with high hopes and I am happy to report that we were not disappointed. Discovered it after seeing it in the Unilocal hot and new category. The flavors are rich and fresh. Excellent Mexican food with beautiful presentation. Servers are attentive and helpful. The vegetarian options are delicious. We tried the veg. Chimichangas and the Bollywood burrito. Both had large portions and very flavorful. The complementary salsa and chips were very good. The guacamole cart is interesting. We will try it next time. All foods were drizzled with Mexican white cheese. Happy to see such non-chain restaurants coming to Omaha. Will be visiting often.

Love it! This is my new favorite mexican food in Omaha. The chips and salsa are fantastic. The food is fresh and flavorful. Agave also has a large menu and drink menu with reasonable prices. I used to love Cilantros, but this is my favorite. I tried the Texas Loco burrito… try it!!!

This is an awesome Mexican joint across the street from my office. Dropped by with some co-workers and was blown away. The décor inside was classy, the food was fantastic, and the service was great. I can’t wait to go back.

Cozy and decorative! Chips & salsa served when you’re seated. The salsa has fresh cilantro and there was some other creamy spicy white sauce they served with the chips. That was a little different. It’s a nice little place. I had the Salmon dish. It had a tasty creamy sauce served with seasoned rice and a zucchini/squash mix. Lots of food, I couldn’t eat it all & was completely stuffed. The service was friendly. There are many different kinds of adult drinks to choose from. That was probably the most fun out of the whole experience was looking at what all they had. I ended up having a mojito or two. I’m a sucker for fresh mint and lime. The drinks are good but like many places, that’s where it gets pricy. The dessert menu was very tempting lol! The menu had many different items I had not seen before, for example there was a pita dish(I think it was called princess something) that looked interesting. There was a chicken chipolte burrito that looked good too. I looked for tamales but I didn’t find one on the menu :/. It’s worth going to try it out but it’s hard to top something like Roja. La Mesa and Margarita’s are pretty similar to this place. I should’ve tried the chix tortilla soup. The chicken tortilla soup was actually pretty awful at Margaritas so I should’ve tried it there to be able to compare.

Unbelievable! Imagine yourself in a distant land than your normal downtown. Listen for a moment, if you will. Do you hear that? That is the sound of awesome. I found it out West and it is worth the drive! After a game of disc, I thought it would be cool to stop by and give Agave Azteca a shot. I am glad I did. The first thing I noticed upon arrival is that Linden Market is one of the oldest known strip-malls to my original time in Omaha. Located on the East wing of the main deck is This little unassuming spot is fitting in with the rest of the stores here. Entering the restaurant is a fun, wood carved horse and a really cool dio de los muertes painting. We sat at the bar as it is a nice draw and looks very contemporary. The 3 TVs had sports on them and we were politely asked if there was something we wanted on instead. Sports was fine. I glanced at the menus and the drink list is pretty good. The beer on tap is good and I had Goose Island and my buddy had Dos Equis. I should have gone the Latin route on mine, but declined the big mug as my vessel. Chips, salsa, and«White sauce»(House made, secret ingredients) were delivered to us and we dug in. the«White sauce» is intriguing because it is a dang tasty dipping sauce. you know how the Midwest likes to dip their food. This is perfect for doing just that. One of the things I noticed that sets this apart from some places that are similar is these guys have a Guacamole cart that will make your Guac to order, on the spot! How awesome is that? You control the amounts of flavor/heat in your fresh made dip. The lunch menu is really just a great way for me to eat. I like a lot of choices, but I don’t need huge portions. My Vegetable Chimchanga and beans was perfect. Initially I wasn’t sure, but it was just the right size. Any more and I would have wasted it. The dinner menu reflects larger portions that require a bit more time than you are allotted for lunch, too. My buddy got Spinach enchiladas and said they were really good and that he was full by the end. The drink menu and bar are really nice here. The restaurant side feels very comfortable and I saw some kids enjoying their food also. if you have dietary restrictions, just make sure to tell them. they can sub out flour tortillas for corn and let you know on the menu. If you are vegan, they will ensure that your food is cooked completely separate. The staff was engaging and informative. Checked on multiple times, but never felt pressed. Professional in their attire and demeanor. Pro-Tip: Happy hour 2pm-5:30, making it the earliest happy hour I know of. Pro-Tip 2: They open in a few weeks TL;DR: Out West, great food, great vibe, great place. I have a new Favorite.
