Food is good, especially if you like enchiladas because that is there main thing, but they also have really good fish, steak, and sausage tacos as well as salads.

We find ourselves questioning our lack of frequency every time we leave Stokes. A few of our favorites are Sharon’s Chicken Enchiladas, the Aztec Nachos and Koko’s Salad. On Sunday’s they feature a brunch menu that showcases their southwest twist on traditional and non-traditional brunch affair. The build-your-own Bloody Mary bar is a fun way to get the drinks flowing and is well priced.

Probably one of the best meals we have had in Omaha since moving here over two years ago! Patrick was an amazing server as well and made the environment even more enjoyable.

The food was great, so was the place. I went there during lunch and was quite loud for my liking.

I was at Stokes Thursday for lunch with a friend. Food and service were good as always. This day it was really cold in the restaurant, and we asked our waitress why it’s always so cold — could she ask to warm it up a little. Erin was so nice — she not only asked to warm it up but brought us each a very warm little blanket! She is an exceptional waitress — told her that’s the first time anyone(outside of the hospital) ever brought either of us a warm blanket. What a girl — thanks, Erin!

We had different four meals in our group — no one liked their meals. The ahi tuna in the salad was chewy. The chicken breast was dry. The fusion wrap was ‘meh’ and the kids burger tasted wrong. Everyone liked the fries. But maybe that’s because we were hungry… Won’t be coming back.

We went for brunch which was a huge mistake. The service was horrible from almost the moment we sat down. Strike one happened as I asked to be reseated(we had 5 people at a booth and two people got stuck on the square corner of the table – very awkward) and was told«ma’am, I’m expecting a 150 people and this is all there is.» They had been open for 5 minutes, this seems to be a bit much in terms of attitude for that early in the morning. Strike two was my side of potatoes being cold on arrival and arguably strike three would be the 20 minutes it took to reheat them before they were returned to me. We ordered desserts as well and the brownie with ice cream arrived sans ice cream. This was rectified quickly but it arrived sans utensils the second time. Oh bother. Not again.

The only reason that I’m giving 2 stars is because our server Sam, younger gal with light hair, was friendly, attentive and worked hard. We ordered 3 bottles of wine before they had one they had in stock. That’s not too impressive for a more established place in Omaha. The food was okay but my Sharon Enchilada was cool in the middle but I ate it because it took a while to get my food as it was and I didn’t want to wait for another 25 minutes or have it come out 2 minutes later fresh from Chef ‘Mic’. Maybe I’ll try again in few months.

We went on a Saturday night fairly early so it wasn’t crowded when we arrived. The highlight was definitely the food. My butternut squash and potato burrito with mushroom crema and black beans was seriously out of this world. It was a completely awesome dish I want to try to recreate. We skipped drinks, though they had a good drink menu. Only drawback was service was a bit slow at payment time, but there were some big parties ordering when we were trying to leave to get to a show. I’d definitely return for that awesome meal though!

I wasn’t nearly impressed with the food as I thought I would be from hearing so many good things. Nothing special. The waiter ran my bill on my friends card. That was fun to sort out… Not that great.

I came here for lunch at around 2pm during a business trip. This place is a Mexican/American fusion place I would say? The interior looked nice, and had décor that was somewhat reminiscent of a log cabin. I got the chicken enchiladas with the lunch sized portion. The plate was massive! I was a bit confused because I noticed there was a special lunch pricing. The dinner sized one must be really really big. Overall the chicken was well made and the beans/rice on the side were a nice complement to the main portion of the dish. It also had a lighter feel to it than the steak enchiladas that my coworkers got because it didn’t have any heavy red sauce. Another coworker got the ahi tuna tacos, which she liked. Be warned that the plates come out hot! The waiter was an interesting character. He was a bit slow to get our orders, which is why I didn’t give 5 stars. However, he winked at my coworker, who had a wedding ring on, wasn’t particularly well dressed, and looked like he just woken up. I thought it was hilarious. I’d come here again for lunch.

My review would really be a 3.5 but eh, wasn’t impressed enough for a 4. Came here for lunch on a Tuesday around 2. Not busy but service was still kinda slow. The waiter was really nice though but maybe this wouldn’t be a good place if you were in a rush. As for food, I got the ahi tuna fish taco, which other Unilocalers and the waiter raved about. To be honest, it was only okay. Not enough flavor on the tuna nor the accompanying items such as rice, tomatoes. Just kinda A-OK. Coworker’s got the enchiladas which they said was good, huge lunch portions. My dish was not on the lunch special, so also a little more expensive than what tex mex food should be.

Had the seared tuna salad. For $ 15 I would have liked to have more ingredients than romaine lettuce, tuna and pico. The pico de gallo had an overwhelming cilantro taste. Tuna was too tough to cut with the butterknife at the table so I ended up mostly eating around it. Tried my date’s good for you salad with salmon, which she enjoyed. Salmon was perfectly done and the pita bread was delicious. Wait staff was excellent, very quick and patient. Might be back to try other items on the menu, but won’t try their salads.

Evertime I go to Stokes I find the food to be hot, spicy and very tasty. I have tried a number of their entrees and I never am dissatisfied. The appetizers also very good. They provide good portions and nothing tastes like it comes out of a can. It is more on the gourmet side but like the fact they use spices and make the meals look very appealing. I was surprised how quickly they get the food out and always ensure my Ice-tea is topped off while I am enjoying my meal. This is a good place to go. Great atmosphere and would love if one was closer to Bellevue but it is worth the trip.

First visit… Chips and salsa was delish! Chicken enchilada was very good. Service was the best I’ve had in a long time… Everyone we encountered was genuinely nice and didn’t seem to hate their job! Great job! Not the best Mexican in town but a nice change

We tried stokes for the first time today and I was very impressed. This exceeded my expectations! It was the early dinner hour so not too busy. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant. Not overly noisy which was great so we could talk at our table. My husband was happy the husker game was on. The server was very attentive, our glasses were never empty. Great service! I ordered the chicken enchiladas, they were great! Very cheesy. The rice was very good and had a lot of flavor and even though I am not a big fan of beans they weren’t too bad. I will return to this location and would recommend it to others.

Contemporary south west or texmex like cuisine. They have diverse menu and in my opinion all fusion and food is good specially in west Omaha compared to downtown location.

We’ve really liked Stokes – the food and atmosphere. Good salsa is hard to find in Omaha, and this is the best we have found on the west side of town. They give you a red and a green. Both are delish! The most memorable dish we have enjoyed was the mussels. Very tasty! But so far, we’ve enjoyed everything we have ordered. We will continue coming back and trying new things!

We used to be huge Stokes fans. This is my very first post. Very disappointing dinner this evening. Ordered the steak special and it was grizzly and fatty. When I received the bill they tried to charge me for the dinner. After they took the steak off the bill they still charged me for the side salad. My wife’s dinner was a disappointment too. After eating there several times we have come to the conclusion that there are far better places to eat.

I used to be a huge stokes fan. Not sure if it is me or the restaurant. I think I am just making bad choices these days. Tried the Aztec Nacho’s. Terrible. Friend had the Ya Ya spicy sausage tacos. They were spicy and tasty but just good. Another friend had the tilapia and it was tasty also but again… just good. We had a couple of Marg’s… I liked mine but friend thought it was«too syrupy» and sweet. They wouldnt serve one of my friends because he didnt bring his ID. Not a big deal and nobody got upset but was kinda strange because we obviously look older. So I guess he should take it as a compliment! Service was excellent and the atmosphere fine. I will continue to try and visit but with so many other great Mexican restaurants in town… I think my visits are far and few between.
