Went to Julian’s for lunch today. Quite good. However, they just changed their name from«Julian’s Tex Mex» to «AC’s Tex Mex». Apparently Julio’s is suing them for the name, so they decided to change it. Not so great. Started off with complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was simple and average, but the homemade chips were very tasty. I ordered the Earth, Sea, and Sky Enchiladas. It was $ 11 off their house special menu, and quite excellent. Very tasty, and surprisingly, they had the best refried beans I have ever tasted in this city. The presentation was also very clever – they used the 3 sauces to create the Mexican flag on the enchiladas. I liked that extra touch. My friend ordered the beef fajitas, and that looked quite appetizing as well. We had to use up a gift certificate, which they have signs plastered all over the window saying they still take them, and everything went smoothly. Lunch runs about $ 7 – 10 a meal, dinnner $ 9 – 14 or so. Great food. Would recommend.

I hope that this restaurant flourishes, because I ate there for the first time today, and I thought it was very good(worthy of repeat visits). It’s somewhat hidden from view in its little corner of the strip mall(used to be the old DiCoppia restaurant). On this visit, we were there for a late lunch and the place was all but empty. Our server was very pleasant and was always willing to answer any questions. We ordered their queso dip, which was smooth and creamy(leaned more toward canned nacho cheese consistency, but with a better taste). Corn tortilla chips and salsa were complimentary and plentiful, and the salsa was better than I expected(more of a roasted tomato consistency). I ordered the steak tacos al carbon off the lunch menu, which includes two rolled tacos(corn tortillas), a little dollop of guacamole and some pico de gallo to put in the tacos. The entire dish was fantastic, and the steak was tender and juicy. My fiancé’ ordered the combination beef crunchy taco/beef enchilada lunch entrée’, and it was just as delicious. Overall, a great first impression… we will be back.

Oh my gosh this place was outstanding! My husband and I tried it for the first time on Friday and wanted to go back on Saturday! The chips and salsa were a great starting point — light and crisp chips, not too hot sauce and the ultimate margarita was aptly named. I got a New York strip with I would describe as a demi glacé and mushroom sauce and I wanted to pour the sauce on everything. My husband was equally pleased with his southwestern chicken dish — lightly grilled sitting on a poblano cream sauce and topped with grilled peppers, onions and mushrooms. Unbelievable! I can’t wait to go back and try some of their other dishes.

First off, let me say I love mexican food. I literally could eat it every day. That being said, this was one of the worst restaurants in omaha i have ever been to. The food had absolutely no flavor, service was hit or miss at best… Needless to say, I won’t be going back.

I just got home from this new restaurant and it was amazing! The staff was very friendly and the feel of the place was comfortable. They also have a nice little bar set up and ample room for large parties. I just moved to Omaha from Dallas and was dissapointed with the mexican restaurants here. The chef’s and owner are from the Dallas area so I had high expectations and they definately exceeded them! The owner was a wonderful and very sincere man! I really want to see his business boom! We had sour cream enchiladas with amazing sour cream sauce, cheese enchiladas with great chili sauce, and skirt steack which my stepfather said was the best he had had in Omaha.(which is saying alot since he is a great foodie who has eaten in almost every place in town!) My family has actually walked out from the«number one mexican restaurant» because it was so awful! If you love Tex-Mex or want to give it a try please do not go anywhere else but Julian’s!
