A chain sandwich shop is a chain sandwich shop; they each have their themes and gimmicks, but my experience is that they’re pretty much all the same, save Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli(do yourself a favor and pull over should you happen to pass one.) We walked in at about 6:30 on a Sunday night. There was one customer and two employees. We didn’t get the yell-greeting mentioned by other reviewers; instead it wasn’t until after 3 minutes of standing awkwardly and then approaching the register were we even acknowledged, with the employee passive-aggressively noting that his co-worker hadn’t greeted us. He was perfectly lovely while taking our order, and perhaps he had been oblivious to the situation and was trying his best at damage control. The sandwiches were fine. I got the Italian, but it had been so long since I’d last been to a Firehouse Subs that I forgot that I don’t like the dressing they put on it, but that’s my fault. It’s too sweet for my liking, but I still ate it. Damage Control Employee also gave us the spiel about their hot sauces, ranked from 1 to 10 in terms of heat-factor. Most of the 9s and 10s were nearly empty and unspeakably crusty, unfortunately.

Wow, I had never had Firehouse Subs before, but thought I’d give it a try while I was driving between stores for work the other day. I didn’t know what I was getting into — but had heard good things. I had the Turkey Salsa Verde sandwich and it blew my mind! I was floored at how good it was! This is by far the best sandwich shop in town, of the ones I’ve tried. Previously my favorite was Which Wich but now they’ve been demoted as Firehouse Subs is the best sandwich experience of my life. So good! Definitely would recommend!

OMG… THE best subs I’ve had in Omaha. Better than Gandolfo’s and far better than Subway. The experience starts with a hearty hello from the entire staff and recommendations from the front line. Also we got a thorough explanation of the menu and the process. All sandwiches are toasted, but only as an enhancement rather than being so crunchy that it hurts to eat. I had the Hook and Ladder, which was turkey and ham with Monterey cheese. I asked for ONLY tomato and lettuce to accompany it. What I got imstead was tomato and mayo. A disappointment, and the only bad mark against what was otherwise a perfect sub. Yes, we will be coming back.

I’ve eaten at this firehouse many times. I love the spicy Italian as well as the meatball sub. It gets pretty busy at lunch time, but the food is consistently great!

I’ve always been a fan of firehouse but never been to this location before. I stopped in a few days ago and the customer service was so fantastic I just had to make note of it. Probably the best customer service I have ever experienced at a restaurant.

Tucked away in a strip mall east of Nebraska Furniture Mart, delicious subs every time. Always greeted with a friendly«Welcome to Firehouse» when you walk in. They also have the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine where you can pick one of ten thousand soft drink combinations.. .ok maybe it’s more like 8,793. Go for the club sub with a pickle spear.

I love sub sandwiches. They’re about my favorite thing to eat for lunch and sometimes even dinner. And I’m always on the lookout for new places to get them. Firehouse doesn’t do anything radically different from other sub shops when it comes to the ingredients they put into their sandwiches, but they are well made and are pretty flavorful. I had the Engineer(turkey with Swiss and mushrooms) and it was pretty satisfying though smaller than I thought it would be. My parents, while stating that they preferred their subs over subs from competing chains, weren’t as enthralled as I was though we all agreed that we would be willing to eat them again. My mom’s sandwich was drippy and kind of runny, and she and my dad both said theirs were a little bland and lacked the deli mustard that was advertised to come on them. Overall, decent sub place with decent food. Don’t go expecting them to reinvent the typical sub sandwich, but if you’re looking for something classic and well-built Firehouse will do it for you.

Staff was super friendly and even better, food was excellent! Reminded me of Quiznos but better quality and the hot sauce selection was fantastic! If you read my reviews, you know I don’t easily give away five stars but this place was worth it. Yes it may be «pricey» for a sub but it doesn’t seem anyone has«cheap» subs anymore and you get so much more than any other sub shop that I know.

Went here and had their brisket sandwich. It was good but not great. the service here was ok. Overall, I wasn’t impressed with this place. The sandwich seemed small for how much you pay for it. This place just feels like a Quizno’s with a fireman theme to me. I would eat here again if i was out with friends and they wanted to eat here but I don’t see this as being a place I will go out of my way for.

I got a club on a sub. It was alright since you can’t really make a bad turkey sandwich. The reason for four stars is that the cashier was the most enthusiastic person I’ve ever seen at a sandwich shop. He was very friendly and also made fun of omaha a whole lot after seeing that we were from out of town. Management, give that guy a raise!

I love sandwiches that somebody else made for me, but before Firehouse came to Omaha, it was hard to find a good, fast sandwich. This place has fireman-themed décor(think Dalmatian-spotted tables), the kids like it. So far I’ve only eaten from the under 500 calorie menu, the sriracha beef(good) and the hook and ladder light(better). The kids meals come with plastic fireman hats, which is fun. The employees are always super friendly and helpful. They have one of those fancy Coke machines with all the flavors, so on a busy day the drink line can be pretty crazy since only one person can go at a time and it can take a while to make a choice. Or you can be like me and skip the soda line and get iced tea. I just wish they delivered.

I recently visited firehouse and there a few other places that serve hot subs, this is my review. I am a veggie person & sometimes eat chicken. My grilled chicken sub was average, I don’t like chunks or cube chicken in subs, but it’s ok. No paper menu until you reach the ordering area, to see more ordering options .you’ll be disappointed @ a veggie sub here. Some adds on like avocado weren’t there. In other words no list of veggies, the brochure has a small basic selection. no selection of cheese other than provolone, unless someone correct me. It’s clean, friendly service.

I do enjoy this place. The sandwiches are amazing and the environment is interesting. Staff during the day can seem a little rushed and sometimes annoyed that they are serving you. I am not a fan of this yelling greeting theme that so many places are adopting — I would rather be greeted with eye contact while they are taking my order. The evening staff is much more friendly, but some of that I am sure has to do with how busy the place is and the different crowds. I love the sandwiches — I am stuck on the hook and ladder without mustard and they have all these spicey sauces you can choose to add yourself. Certainly a place to hit again and again.

Best brisket sandwich hands down! I have also had the Italian sub and the meatball which are great also. Friendly service, tasty food and I can get my favorite soda coke with lime NOTDIET! You just can’t go wrong here and they cater too!

Had a turkey sandwich here. Pretty good. Ingredients seemed pretty fresh. Staff was friendly – almost too friendly. I really don’t like places where everyone tries to yell hello to you when you walk in. I get it, you’re trying to be friendly, but tone it down. One person saying hi is fine. Anyhoo. Ordered my sandwich to go. Order was done quickly and correctly. Tables and area near soda machine seemed clean. Would definitely go again. It’s sort of in the realm of a Quiznos or something. Not a bad price – pricier than Subway, but I feel like it was cleaner than a lot of the Subways I have been to recently, so I’d give it a 3.5, if I could.

Note: This is one of those places that yells words of welcome when you enter, just so you’re prepared. Pretty tasty sandwiches. My eyes were for some reason drawn immediately to ‘the engineer’ sandwich and I ordered it without even reading the description… which, turns out, is the kind of thing I would have ordered anyway: Smoked turkey breast, melted Swiss, and sauteed mushrooms, served Fully Involved(which includes mayo and cheese). We got ours as takeout with some chips and a bizarre concoction of cherry limeade and strawberry diet Fanta… something about those Coca-Cola Freestyle Machines just makes me go a little mad apparently. I’ll return if we’re in the area.

I’m not quite sure what it is that makes Firehouse Subs so good. It’s not like the sandwiches are humongous, or that they’re crazy-spicy or crazy-sweet. They’re not overly packed with meat and cheese, or sauced up like a famous dave’s bbq platter. They don’t rely on crazy ingredients like Namibian chile peppers or Spicy Thai Hummus(though, they do have a lot of those hot sauces to add if you’d like). They aren’t deep fried, oven steamed, or any other atypical preparation method. They aren’t freaky fast and to my knowledge they don’t deliver either. No, Firehouse Subs doesn’t rely on niche tastes or uncommon speed or a massive menu or gimmicky portions. They just make some of the most delicious sub sandwiches you’ll ever have from a sub sandwich chain.

Best subs ever. The staff is friendly, the food fantastic(with plenty of variety for all). the ordering process is a bit lengthy and the wait longer than say subway or jimmy johns but you can’t beat the quality. My favorite is the meatball, my husbands the hook and ladder(turkey and ham). And, if you like hot sauce they have a hot sauce bar for your enjoyment.
