Not worth the price or the time. If you want a ton of frosting that sits all day, cupcakes that are used multiple days in a row when they don’t sell and over-priced for what you get, go to Gigi’s Cupcakes. Not to mention a horribly rude owner, who has no idea how to run a business, and runs around like a chicken with her head cut off. Cupcake Island and Jones Bros. are WAY better, I promise you!

I’m SHOCKED that this place has received such good reviews! Yes, I love frosting but I had to eat half of it to even be able to get any cupcake! The frosting tasted oddly like canned frosting. The cupcake itself was bland and kinda dry. I’ve had better box mix cupcakes. It just didn’t seem like it was worth the calories consumed.

These cupcakes are BYFAR the best cupcakes I’ve ever had! They are moist and incredibly delicious. My sister and I shared a chocolate chip cookie dough and a princess cupcake. I was so happy that they weren’t overly sweet. The cupcakes have a perfect balance of cupcake and frosting. I’m just upset I didn’t get more! I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Omaha!

I love frosting, but I have to say the frosting to cupcake ratio is a bit extreme!

I ordered character cupcakes for my son’s 2nd birthday party. The cupcakes were ready when I arrived to pick them up, however, I was very disappointed. They were unrecognizable characters, outside of the colors. Kind of. I told the girl checking me out that they were really ugly and not exactly what I ordered. She went to get a manager, who didn’t really offer much but an apology. My son’s party was 2 hours later, so there wasn’t time to find/make an alternative. She charged me full price(over priced) and I left. Pretty disappointing.

Always, always, always amazing. My visit today was to get some goodies to spoil one of our clients with, & we choose Gigi’s for both the«Wow» factor, and because they are delicious! Our groups and parties have come to ask for them by name… and always love a sweet treat in between spa services. Although the icing to cupcake ratio is a bit much for me personally… the flavors are outstanding. They always have a flavor to fit the occasion, and are nothing but happy and helpful… great job!

These cupcakes were delicious, and got rave reviews from my son, his friends, and parents, too! My son and his dad are in Omaha for a baseball tournament, and today is his birthday. When we ordered ahead to pick up the cupcakes, we didn’t have the tournament schedule yet. Then, as luck would have it, our team was scheduled to play back-to-back games, starting right at the time Gigi’s was scheduled to open. Unfortunately, this meant we couldn’t pick up the cupcakes before the first game, and if we didn’t have them right when the second game ended, everyone would go their separate ways and there would be no celebration for my son! Gigi’s came to our rescue, quickly agreeing to open the shop a half hour early, so Dad could get them on his way to the tournament. Yay! GREAT service ANDGREAT product! Well done!

I recently stopped in to Gigi’s to pick up a Valentine order. They had a pre-order option, which is helpful when things are picked over for the holiday. You must like frosting to go to Gigi’s! The layer of frosting is as high as the cake part itself. I have also sampled their cheesecakes and filled cookies, and they are equally as delicious. I do like to frequent local cupcake shops, but I have found that they are not as moist and decorative as Gigi!

If you love frosting, than this is the place for you! If you do not love frosting, then why are you bothering to eat cupcakes anyway? This review swings to the gluten free folks since I am gluten intolerant. They do place a warning label on their product about possible cross contamination, so it is a major bummer for those affected with Celiac Sprue. So far, I have not had a reaction. «Cross my fingers.» For a cupcake, I am willing to take a chance! Back to the cake! I do agree with other reviewers that some flavors(chocolate, P.B.) are moist and the gluten free flour component is undetectable, yet other flavors(vanilla) seem more dry, dense, and crusty. Cream cheese frosting is decadent. Thank you Gigi’s for making an alternative for those of us in the minority with our dessert baked-good options due to allergies and/or intolerance.

Recently, a friend brought in a 4 pack of cupcakes to work. As none of us employees could decide amongst the variety of flavors, we chose to split each cupcake and share. The four pack included 1. Blackberry Cobbler Cupcake, 2. Double Stuff(Oreo), 3. Midnight Magic, and 4. Strawberry Shortcake. First, the presentation was gorgeous. Each cupcake was decorated to perfection and it’s presentation in the box was gift perfect. Second, the flavor and texture was INCREDIBLE. And yes, I mean ALLFOUR were AMAZING! Blackberry Cobbler was a delightful surprise. Large berries embedded in a dense, moist cake with itty bitty bits of what I can only assume are white chocolate bits. The crumble on the frosting was a delightful contrast to the creamy frosting… and yes, there may be a bit too much frosting, but I would rather have too much than not enough! Double Stuff(Oreo)…just when you think you are going to split a run of the mill cupcake, you realize the center of the cupcake is filled with a mound of light, fluffy cream filling. Of course the cake itself was wonderfully moist and the frosting was whipped to perfection. Again, lots of frosting, but worth the extra calories. Midnight Magic… or as I like to call it, Death by Chocolate. This cupcake was chocolate on chocolate on chocolate. Yes, the cake was just as good as the other cakes, and yes, there was a mountain of frosting, but if you like chocolate, this is the cupcake for you! Strawberry Shortcake. I am not a big fan of strawberry flavored anything but this cupcake had just enough flavor to taste, but not be over powering or weirdly fake… if ya know what I mean. The frosting is light and fluffy and again flavored with just enough strawberry to make it taste like Summer.(It is delightful enough that I would actually buy this one myself.) Overall, GiGi’s is my FAVORITE cupcake place in Omaha. It put’s the other guys to shame!

We like to try all the cupcake shops in Omaha whenever we are in their vicinity. We hit Gigi’s on a Friday night before closing and the selection was a bit limited, but that didn’t stop us from trying much of what they had left. Our selections: Berries and Vanilla — A blackberry cake with a cream cheese vanilla frosting and sprinkles. I love sweet, but the icing on this one nearly sent me into diabetic shock, Cake was a bit dense. Carrot Cake Banana Cream Pie — Yellow cake with a vanilla filling(reminded me of a custard) buttercream frosting, crushed vanilla wafers– Wife and I liked this. Wife wanted a bit more banana flavor. Chocolate Salted Caramel — Dark chocolate cake filled with caramel, caramel frosting, dipped in ganache and sprinkled with sea salt. Wife comment — very bad, not enough caramel. Birthday Surprise — White cake with pink buttercream frosting and sprinkles. Standard white cake with frosting. Pretty decent Classic Cheesecake Cupcake — Good. Lemon Supreme Cheesecake Cupcake — Tasty. Gigi’s also does mini cupcakes. Another thing we like is that Gigi’s make different cupcakes for every day of the week. There are a number that are repeated, but still a very good variety. Store also has a great color brochure with all of the available cupcakes with pictures and a description along with what is served each day of the week. First cupcake store that I have seen inn Omaha do this. If you have a sweet tooth and are in the vicinity of Village Pointe — stop in and say«hi» and pick up a few treats

I was disappointed that I made a special trip there to get gluten free cupcakes for a guest I was having over. Spent a ridiculous amount of money on 2 «gluten free cupcakes» and after getting them home realized there is a sticker on the box that states they can’t guarantee these have not been crossed contaminated with gluten… Ugh they went in the garbage as no one wants to take that chance with guest.

The cake part is not bad and not good and the frosting is gross plus there is always more frosting than cake itself. Sadly I will not be returning here and will not be recommending this place either. The staff is real nice though which is why it got 2 stars.

I eat gluten free so I thought it was amazing that they offer gluten free cupcakes on Fri. and Sat. The cupcake itself(minus the frosting) is decent… not bad. However, the frosting is absolutely horrible. I am a sweets lover but find their frosting disgusting and I’ve tried many gfree flavors. My husband didn’t like their regular cupcakes too much either. Honestly, I much prefer Jones Brothers for gfree cupcakes and regular ones too. Plus, they have French macarons too: P Honestly, if there were no Jones Brothers around and they only had Gigi’s for gfree cupcakes I probably wouldn’t go there.

This review is SOLELY for the GLUTENFREE cupcakes at Gigi’s Cupcakes. In general, gluten free cupcakes are crumbly and dry. Gluten free baking is really difficult to «get right,» and I have only been able to come up with a few concoctions at home that didn’t end up in the trash can. So, when I hear about a bakery or cupcake shop offering gluten free options, I have feelings of anticipation, like, «maybe they’ve figured it out?!» Thankfully, Gigi’s gf Cupcakes are good. Can you tell they are gluten free? Yes and no, depending on which flavor you choose. The gluten free peanut butter cup was fudgy and peanut buttery; not dry or crumbly at all. I would have assumed it to be chock full of «real» flour, had I not known it was gluten free. The white cake with pink frosting, however, was a bit more crumbly and dry. The only other downside for me was that there was too much frosting for my taste. It was higher than the cake itself! If you are extremely sensitive to gluten(aka celiac), you should be aware that these cupcakes cannot be CERTIFIED gluten free because they are made on shared equipment. From the website: «Despite the fact that we bake and offer cupcakes without gluten, all of our cupcakes are prepared fresh in the same kitchen, allowing for the potential of cross contamination. Our baking equipment comes in contact with products containing gluten; therefore our cupcakes cannot be certified as a Gluten-Free product.»

Good cupcakes, especially if you are a big fan of frosting. Seriously, these are 70⁄30 ratio of frosting to cake. They hold up well compared to the other premium cupcake places in town(Cupcake island, Cuppycakes…) I was surprised by 4 cupcakes from here by my husband yesterday, and couldn’t be happier. He got me the Lemon Dream Supreme, Midnight Magic, Wedding Cake and Strawberry Shortcake. We split the Lemon Dream and Wedding Cake, and probably should have only had half a cupcake in one sitting cause these things are huge. The Lemon Dream was awesome, best part is the lemon curd in the middle. If there was as much lemon curd as there was frosting, I would have had to found out how to give this place 6 stars. As is, the lemon curd is a little overwhelmed by the lemon frosting. Good crumb, nice and moist cake, no complaints except that the frosting was a bit overwhelming. The wedding cake was straight forward white cake with white frosting, and tiny little non perils that scattered all over my kitchen floor and my husbands car. Watch out, their cupcake boxes are not made to hold those things in. Once again, good crumb with a moist cake, bit too much icing. Personally I really enjoyed the icing here. I am not a fan of whipped cream type frosting’s, and liked their buttercream.

These are delicious! I’m a particular fan of the Salted Caramel, but have had several and they have always been yummy. Am overdo on my review — had a Groupon to a competitor and it was not worth the effort, but it did remind me how good Gigi’s is!

Warning that apple maps took us behind the actual location(to a neighborhood) initially… This is located in a strip mall just south of village point, behind Kobe. The owner’s excitement about cupcakes is contagious and the frosting to cake ratio is right up my alley. Varieties come in both cream cheese and buttercream frosting(who said you can’t please everyone?!) and even though they had about 12 varieties of cupcakes on display on this particular day, the options are almost unlimited… The menu changes daily and boasts incredible flavors like sweet potato pie, mocachino, chocolate chip cookie dough, kentucky bourbon, wedding cake and pumpkin white chocolate. After much deliberation, we settled on a Midnight Magic(with gharadeli chocolate chips), and a Grasshopper. The minis are unfortunately only sold by the dozen… for $ 15.99, but that didn’t stop us! And obviously we signed up for the loyalty program(about a 10% discount) and were rewarded for all of that with a free cookie dough cupcake! But enough about all that… How were the cupcakes? Pretty amazing… I’d say. Like the Gigi’s story: And yes, I ate all pf the frosting.

WOW!!! Where to start? Cute little shop — love the décor and the cupcakes are incredible! My first cupcake was a Southern Comfort which is like eating a pecan pie but in a cupcake with a caramel fudge praline frosting. Now I couldn’t stop at just one so I moved on to the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough which has a frosting that tastes exactly like cookie dough! The next day I tried several of their mini cupcakes and loved every one — but I didn’t stop there! They also have cheesecakes in the shape of cupcakes. Gigi’s is doing it right — every cupcake is exquisitely decorated and is beautifully boxed making giving them as gifts a real treat. Opening the box is like opening a present, truly beautifully done. Can’t wait for Gigi’s to open on the west coast!
