I had the Linguine and Clam. Very great. Lots of clam Big portion with the price of around 14. Fast service and very professional. My friend got the French Onion Soup and it was amazing. His Patty Melt wasn’t that great because it was seasoned at all.

This is probably the best kept secret in Omaha, Nebraska. Started with the house soup, which is a white bean, kale, and sausage soup. It’s the best restaurant soup I’ve ever encountered in my life. I give it 5 out of 5 stars. For entrée’s, I’ve had three experiences at Jimi D’s: Visit #1: Had the Reuben. Corn beef looks like it came out of an art gallery. Mixed with sauerkraut and house-made thousand island, it’s toasted to perfection and oh so gooey! I give it 5 out of 5 stars. Visit #2: Had the Italian Bread Salad. Lots of flavor without a load of ingredients, on a bed of perfect green lettuce. Simple and elegant, I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Visit #3: Had the club sandwich. Compared to the other two entrée’s I encountered, this was the first one that was good, but wasn’t notable. I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. All in all, I believe this will be the first restaurant in my life that I will attempt to eat everything on the menu at least once. See you again soon, Jimi D’s! Keep up the GREATWORK!

Jimi ds makes me the happiest person on earth. Keep up the great work staff! A couple of my favorites are: starting off with the dirrrrty martini(comes with perfectly stuffed blue cheese olives) paired with the spin and art dip app. l, then move to one of the seasonals on tap to enjoy with the oh so fabulous fish tacos! On to my next favorite: I start out with a Chardonnay then pair it with the stuffed crab portobello app, after that I’m forced to make the tough decision between their amazing house salad or perhaps their classy Caesar salad. If on a cold winters day I enjoy choosing between one of their 3 savory soups! After I’ve made those decisions im forced into the tougher entrée choosings. Most of the time I go with their lovely mouth watering portion of linguine with clams! Which is also paired with one of their wisely selected wines. Mmmm Jimi ds you do me right!

I like the atmosphere, and the service was good. The French onion soup was great as was the midway sandwich. I wasn’t impressed with the pan fried meatball sandwich though. The red sauce was pretty sweet and over powered the blandness of the meatball. It tasted like a hamburger with red sauce dumped on. I’ll come back, but I’ll have something else.

Went here to celebrate a 6 year anniversary. My boyfriend picked it based off of Unilocal reviews. We didn’t know it’s in a strip mall type place pretty close to a Brazilian wax place, but we still went in to check it out. Service was great everyone was pretty nice, expect our waitress was doused in very strong perfume, so bad that I choked. After that happened I couldn’t really settle in and try to find something to eat so we got the check, my boyfriend had a beer. When she brought the check the waitress stood over him and waited for him to grab the cash. As I said she was just covered in perfume and just completely ruined our appetite, so we did not get food. Workers were still nice, it just was not what I had in mind. Expect a sports bar in a strip mall type area.

We had dinner here with friends who were visiting from out of town. Between our two families we had 4 kids under 5. The staff was great and really accommodating. The food is good, though on the heavy side. My pan-fried meatball sandwich didn’t sit too well, but I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised.

Can I give 6 stars? It was a hard decision, but I ordered linguine & clams. Best I’ve ever had, with the clams steamed in the Shell and bruchetta tomatoes that tasted incredibly fresh. We had gnocchi bites as an appetizer. Super tasty. Our waitress was perfect. She gave us menu recommendations and had just the right amount if attention for us. The place was comfortable, not too noisy, though the bar wasn’t far from our table. I want to go back and try mahi mahi tacos.

I really enjoy Jimi D’s. The staff is friendly and the food is quite tasty. The spinach and artichoke dip is probably the best I’ve had and I love their gnocchi dish. Also, as a lot of other people have mentioned… their sweet potato fries are amazing.

Delicious food here. My son had the Chicken Fingers with fries. My wife had the Mahi Mahi tacos and I had the burger. The tacos weren’t super spicy which is good for those who aren’t as tolerant. However, we think it could’ve been spicier. The Empyrean Mango IPA wasn’t very«mango-y». Brandon was a great server and gave us some small samples. Would definitely come here again.

I really enjoy this place. was super busy when we came in so we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was over the top friendly and outgoing. even with a full house he was taking care of all the drink needs and still having a fun conversation with lots of people. Lots of great Italian American food choices on the menu. I ended up with the fettuccine alfredo. The cream was good however I was sad the noodle were overcooked. Cant be an Italian place with soggy way past al dente noodles. Was disappointed with the noodle but the sauce and chicken were very good. Had the pasta been cooked right this would have received a 4 star review :)

My husband and I used to frequent Jimi D’s more often a few years ago when we still drank beer and there weren’t as many options in the neighborhood yet. We used to like to eat our meal at the bar while watching an NFL game that wasn’t on regular tv(go Saints!). I’ve had many items on the menu, my favorites being the sandwiches or salads for lighter fare. I remember the Italian grilled cheese with proscuitto and The Midway being really good(but big and messy). My husband usually opted for the steak sandwich though I don’t see it on the menu now. The only thing I really didn’t like was the gnocchi but maybe I just don’t like gnocchi since I’ve never had it anywhere else. The atmosphere is nice but not snooty and prices are reasonable. I have a $ 10 off coupon from so I’ll need to go back soon!

Cleanliness 4 Service 4 Food Quality 4 Likelihood 4 1 – 5(5 Best!) 4.0 Simply put… a good local eatery that provides great food, at a good price, with wow service, in a good location that is clean. There isn’t an appetizer that we don’t like. The entrees are flavorful, made from scratch, and hot when they arrive. The service is comfortable, engaging, and requires the guest to do nothing but sit back and enjoy the meal experience. We try and get here at least once or twice a month with friends for dinner. This meal was with 4 of us. Our server was awesome. Great job.

This is the best place in Omaha in its category. The food is good the service is great and personalized. I lived her 2 – 3 years ago and this place was the only place that stuck in my memory. The wings are served with house made pickled veggies great beer selection. I’ve looked at the menu several times and it’s leaps and bounds above all your frozen fried food that is being served at local spots. Great job!!!

I came in before I was going to an event in the area. I came in with a fellow Unilocaler who needed a ride to said event. the cool thing about Unilocal is that you get to meet some really cool people and some of us are just jerks. Take your pick. Anyways, up to the bar I sat and grabbed a seat. we had about 35 minutes to kill. that was great because the staff seemed overwhelmed by just the patrons at the bar area, not counting the tables. They really weren’t busy and the attention given to a new customer was such that I won’t be returning. In the time I was there, I managed to have 1 beer. Anyone that knows me is aware that the timeframe would have allowed me more than just a beer. I am thankful that the event was awesome and I will go back to Saigon Bowl, but skip Jimi D’s in the future. TL;DR: Inattentive service, minimal selection, wasted time

Went to Jimi’s for the first time between peak lunch and dinner hours for a late lunch and we were one of 3 tables seated. You seat yourself, and I thought that the service was really exceptional today. I do realize I was one of only 3 tables there so that could be why but we were greeted twice upon walking in the door and our server was great, checking on us frequently and filling our waters. The menu includes mostly italian pasta dishes(all your classic favorites in my opinion) for entrees, but also has a wide variety of salads, sandwiches and apps. We settled on the crabcake sandwich and mostaccioli with italian sausage. The sandwich was good, and the pasta was simple but also good. This seems like a restaurant where the food isn’t trying to be anything pretentious and is likely always consistent. It had a homely feel, which I liked. The décor and set up did not bother me like it does others in their reviews. I suppose during lunch its clearly more of a restaurant so maybe in the evenings that is when the restaurant/bar vibe is a little strange. I have seen a lot of people dining here in the weekends as I drive by, so I know it is a popular weekend spot. Overall someplace I would be happy to dine at again and try more menu items.

We went out on this occasion to celebrate. It was slow for a Tuesday before the holiday, but the team at Jimi D did not disappoint. We started off with calamari that was served to perfection. For entrees, I enjoyed the Blackened Salmon Sandwich. What hooked me to this choice was the cream cheese, but it was subtle and not over bearing. My wife ordered the grilled steak salad. The meat was cooked to order(medium) but the dressing on the salad was tasteful but over bearing — will ask for it on the side. Finally, the small fry ordered a kids cheeseburger that comes with an adult serving of fries. All in all, a great atmosphere to celebrate for a new job and we were well taken care of. We would definitely come back.

I’ve been to Jimi D’s twice and I already can’t wait to go back. We started with the gnocchi, which comes with three dipping sauces and is quite good. The linguine and claims are excellent. It comes in this creamy Parmesan sauce that is just divine. I highly recommend it. I understand that the atmosphere is confusing to some people. All I can say is don’t judge the book by it’s cover. This is a very good Italian restaurant that happens to be in a sports bar. Go with it and enjoy. You can seat yourself and enjoy very reasonably priced cocktails to boot!

Based on other reviews I was pretty stoked about trying out Jimi D’s, I even had a Living Social deal to use. Went on a Friday night and the place is a little dark for my tastes. Décor was nice and there was plenty of seating. Our waitress seemed friendly and attentive, took our order and that’s where her good service ended. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer and my wife and daughter both had fettuccine alfredo, one with chicken and I had the chicken parmesan. My daughter and I also had french onion soup. After quite a wait we finally got our soup, which was very good, highlight of the meal, lots of cheese and bread and the broth was spot on. After another wait, our entrees arrived but no pickles, I asked and she simply forgot them, even though I saw her write it down. This mediocre service also involved my biggest pet peeve, NOTPAYINGATTENTIONTOYOURTABLES. We were constantly chasing her down for refills or what not. It wasn’t that busy. The fettuccine and alfredo sauce were also very good, however, the chicken was dry and overcooked. Which leads me to my dish, the chicken parmesan was way over done, so much that the breading looked charred, now if I was having the char buffed wings at Oscar’s that would be fine, but not this. I mentioned something to the waitress and was promptly blown off. We finished with the brownie sundae, which was also spot on. Super rich, lots of ice cream and fudge, just plain good. We shared it and asked for 3 spoons, we got one and our waitress was no where to be found again until the check came. It’s sad that a service experience can so sour a somewhat decent meal but it did. I have zero inclination of returning. Seems like a pretty good spot for a drink and a meal but damn it, you only get one chance to make a good impression in my book, especially with so many choices in town. Food was 4 stars despite the over done chicken, atmosphere a 3, simply because it’s so dark, and customer service is a 2, that’s because despite our waitress, the other workers in the restaurant were there to help us out. Overall, it’a a 2.5 star for this reviewer.

Tried Jimi D’s for the first time last night and was quite pleased. Started on the right foot with a Bombay Sapphire martini with a twist that was a «nice» one and reasonably priced at $ 6.50. Same size and quality martini would go for $ 8 — $ 12 elsewhere. Girlfriend had a sugary grapefruit cocktail which she also liked. Side Caeser salad was good. Girlfriend had French onion soup which was very good but filling. For entrees, I had angel hair pasta with shrimp that was OK but not special. She had linguine with clams in a cream sauce that was absolutely delicious. Lucky for me she was pretty full after the soup so I got to finish most of her entrée. No complaints with service or ambiance. Perhaps it’s a bit incongruous to have a nice meal in an airy sports bar setting, but I like the«fishbowl» effect of floor-to-ceiling windows and a few stray baseball games on TV.
