Went here on the recommendation of friends. Excellent location for dinner. Easy to access from the interstate. Atmosphere was wonderful. High backed chairs were very comfortable. As you walk in you see the bar, which looks inviting. Very cozy inside although it’s bigger than it looks. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Water glasses were kept full. Great drink and dessert choices. We will definitely go back again. Gets a rare five stars from me as we observed nothing wrong.

My first visit was decent; seated in the bar area. The Shrimp Scampi Capellini was good, but the description of «jumbo» shrimp was a stretch. Second visit found myself seated in the bar area as well. Service was just plain awful. Took forever to get water, app, drink. Then took forever to actually place my order. The food was ok, but the tenderloin and ravioli was overpriced for the small portion of over salted steak and five dry ravioli @ $ 25! Waitress dropped off the check and then proceeded to hand my cc and bill to some other table. I overheard them saying that the card is not theirs. WTH? 3 Stars for first visit 1 Star for 2nd visit. Will not be back for a 3rd.

So I have this general rule that if I’m insulted by the wait staff I leave. Yikes. Spezia, in prior visits. has been very good, not great, but more than worth the price. Today at lunch, service was terribly slow. 30 minutes to order. Then no food. I complain and we get new server. My lady tells him things are terribly slow for the number of tables. He corrects her table count, tells her she’s terribly rude(she wasn’t) and then walks off in a huff leaving our salads sitting on a server tray. We left.

Now Spezia is one of your top notch must go to Italian steakhouses! Its a good idea to call or have a reservation as they are usually always a wait, and there is not a really good place to wait for a table to open. Pasta, Steaks, Seafood are always fabulous and the service is top notch. This is the upper crust for sure! Have been here many a times and will return many more times.

My last 2 visits were like a tale of two cities. Best of times, and the worst of times… I’m still rating it as 4 stars because it is usually a strong choice for the food. I deducted a star because of the wildly different preparation from one visit to the next. I highly value consistency. My entrée in question was the Blackened Salmon. One time it was prepared just as I asked(1st visit) with lots of blackening seasoning, the next visit was just a dusting. In addition, on my second visit I requested to be seated in the main dining room but was seated in the overflow banquet area. I know it shouldn’t matter, however this back room is devoid of any ambiance and it felt like I was in the«minivan family section» replete with crying kids and Cheerios on the floor. In addition, this second visit we waited for a table I ordered an appetizer and was given the wrong item. All in all it could just have been an off night, but I will be more insistent on explaining what I want next time.

What a special gem in Omaha. Food is very good. Atmosphere is low light with candles an the tables. It is fairly high priced. Dinner for two with cocktails just under a hundred. Great special occasion place. Service is some what slow. But it is a dining experience for sure.

I can’t believe I have lived in Omaha this long and not tried Spezia! We went out for a Wednesday night dinner with my family. For an appetizer we chose the hot artichoke crab dip which was creamy, rich and delicious! I ordered the seasonal salad which had apples, cranberries and raspberry vinaigrette. It was a little underwhelming but that is ok because my main entrée was perfect! I chose the chicken piccata with mushrooms and onions. It was flavorful and absolutely delicious! Overall a pretty good meal. The restaurant feed like a classic with the leather booths and décor. We enjoyed the coziness of the booth so we could carry on a conversation without trying to compete with the voice volume at the next table over. The service was also great! Overall an Omaha Italian classic!

I feel like a fool for neglecting this restaurant for so long! I hadn’t been in over 10 years, but trust– it won’t be another decade before I visit again! Our visit was PERFECT, which is pretty impressive considering there were six of us. Our server Brian was professional and attentive, but had just the right amount of wittiness. Our table was ready and waiting when we arrived, and food and drinks were timed perfectly to coincide with three couples chit-chatting and taking their time. What I was most impressed with was the prices. This is a perfect middle of the road place, not cheap by any means, but you won’t break the bank eating here. A small filet and jumbo shrimp wtih AMAZING mashed potatoes(with mushroom sauce) was 29.95. I can’t say enough about how my steak was perfectly crusted on the outside from a sere, but an ideal medium-rare inside. Other guests ordered NY Strips, and the Seafood risotto– this was my husband’s choice, and he was elated that they were willing to substitute the mussels for extra scallops or shrimp. Drinks were also reasonably priced with a top shelf, Grey Goose cocktail running only 6.00 and a delicious glass of Pinot Noir for 7.00. My dining companions also raved about the martinis but I didn’t try one myself. The atmosphere here is great also, good mood lighting and noise level. I’ll probably spend my next anniversary here, I couldn’t be more impressed!

Love their dinner rolls… and that butter! Place is bigger than it looks from the outside. Service was great and the lobster flatbread was good. Tiramisu was delicious! Best part of dinner.

I had a wonderful dinner experience last night. My waiter’s name was Jordan and he was very upbeat and helpful. Everything that my boyfriend and I ordered was delicious. I made reservations so we were able to walk in and let them know we were there. They seated us immediately. A definite must order is the Artichoke Crab Dip.

It’s been a while since we ate here, and it was so good to be back. When my wife and I lived closer, we used to frequent Spezia all the time. As we were in the area recently, we stopped back in, and they haven’t missed a beat. Started with a local beer, and the Calamari to start. The Calamari was lightly breaded, doused lightly with a spicy sauce. For our main dishes I had the Angus Ribeye, and my wife the Gnocchi. My ribeye was cooked a perfect medium rare, and was flavorful and tender, along with baked potato. My wife’s go to dish here has always been the Gnocchi, and it still didn’t disappoint. She loved it. Our portions were both big enough that we had leftovers, which were just as good later. Overall, this is a great little restaurant, with a nice atmosphere, good service, and good food and drink options. Try it out!

I ate here two days in a row. That is saying something! The star dish for me was the Florida Sesame Fried Grouper. It’s soooo good… and not greasy at all. It comes with healthy veggie and potato sides as well. I thought is was a great lunch choice. Service on both visits was just fine. This place is bigger than it appears… you can get lost inside and out! Most of the parking is on the north side. The entrance is on the south side.

We had dinner here the other night and the atmosphere was amazing. Low lit, several smaller rooms and a low ceiling giving it a more intimate feeling in the bar and side dining area. Then the main dining room has these slanting windows with a view of their outside patio. The overall impression of the restaurant was very romantic and as I previously mentioned, intimate. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Our server was very nice and pretty well educated on what was gluten free on the menu. They have gf pasta, so that’s always a treat! I had the caprese salad which was good, I would have liked the basil to have a stronger note in the dish but the multicolored heirloom tomatoes made a brilliant presentation. My friend had the Caesar salad but missed the croutons they don’t put on it. My spaghetti with the extra side of Italian sausage was very nice. The bolognese sauce wasn’t bad, but also not a favorite; however, the Italian sausage was fantastic! The extra side includes two whole sausages which had a little spicy hint and were full of flavor. My friend had the herb steak and mashed potatoes and really enjoyed it. The steak was a perfect temperature. Portion sizes were excellent, I took pasta home with me. Price was on the higher end, but overall not bad. I’d definitely like to visit again and try more of their menu items

Been here for lunch 3 times now and I can say this place is really good. I had steak the past two times and it was excellent. Asked for medium rare to rare, both times cooked to perfection. Yesterday I had the fresh day boat diver scallops. These were excellent. The dish came with what I would almost classify as a risotto dish but a little different. It had a delightful lemon zest flavor that I can’t put my finger on but it played well with rich and savory flavor of the perfectly grilled scallops. I can’t wait to go back again.

I went to Spezia for a Vino Van Gogh event with a friend. We arrived early and took a few seats at the bar. To our surprise is was ladies night(Wednesday) so that meant Happy Hour prices in the bar all night, including ½ price flat breads! We ordered drinks and flat breads and everything was REALLY good. It was not even 6pm on a Wednesday night and there were a lot of people in the restaurant and the bar but it didn’t feel«Busy» service was good and the atmosphere is great! After that we headed back to one of their two party rooms, they were really nice. I’m gonna consider these rooms for any lunch/dinner events I’m a part of in the future, they are tucked away and have a private feel, really nice area for a group to gather. Overall I was impressed and will be back!

Really good Italian restaurant and I’ve been to a few! I really enjoy the atmosphere, dark, but inviting. I was here for a business dinner but would also be a very nice place to take that special lady. Wine list offers many choices, one of the hose Italian wines, so wish I could remember it, was excellent. Started with a side salad which was fine, not dripping with dressing like many restaurants do, but not anything special either. Bread was very tasty and warm. Waitress was great, knew her wines, very well versed with the menu and just a very nice person. I had the«bronzed» salmon which is a light blackening and it was very good as well. Finally as others have said here, the tiramisu is awesome, definitely enough for two, but well worth the calories. The presentation is great with the restaurant name sprinkled in the top. nice touch.

I’ve frequented Spezia for years and have just«checked in.» I’m ashamed that I’ve been a lazy Unilocaler(please forgive me) and haven’t given them their due. Proudly, some of my photos from Italy are on their wall going back to the party rooms and restrooms! My favorite menu item is the Gnocchi con Pollo… which is lightly sauteed chicken tenders in a gorgonzola sauce. Add gnocchi and mushrooms and the entire dish served on fresh spinach? Ahhhhh! Heaven. During lunch they serve fabulous burgers and you can appreciate all of their versions. Wood fired makes all the difference(can’t you smell it as you exit your car in the parking lot!?). Beginning with their yumster rolls(whether you prefer olive oil, balsamic and parmesan OR butter to adorn them with) your dining experience will be memorable. Spezia is a busy place, I’ve never seen many tables available PLUS they have a lovely«anniversary booth» for those looking to impress their spouse on special occasions. The large booth has a drape for privacy. Very romantic! Met owners Rick and Dave(from Sioux Falls) years ago when they first opened and have admired their approach to their business ever since. The attention to detail is without a doubt stellar.

I have been to Spezia once before and it was great. My most recent visit was yesterday for a business lunch. I went last year with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the food and drinks were top notch. When I arrived yesterday, we sat down in one of the meeting rooms in the back of Spezia and were immediately asked for our drink orders. The waiter was very friendly and the drinks were brought out quickly. After everyone arrived and gave their food orders, the wait staff set out rolls and small salads. Both were great. Loved the blue cheese on the salad. For our business lunch, they gave us a few options for our main course, sirloin steak, chicken parm, or Atlantic salmon, I chose the sirloin and I wasn’t disappointed one bit. All of the mains came with the same two sides; asparagus and mashed potatoes with porcini mushroom gravy. The steak was one of the most tender steaks that I have ever eaten and it was delicious. A tad on the medium side, but so so good. The asparagus were cooked and were slightly crunchy, perfect in my opinion. And the mashed potatoes with porcini mushroom gravy was superb. The dessert was tiramisu and it was a dream. I’ve had tiramisu before and this was by far, the best that I’ve ever had. Overall, this is one of the best restaurants in Omaha, in my opinion. Everything about it was great. I will definitely be coming back here soon.

This is a consistently solid happy hour with half off flatbreads and drinks. The drinks are strong… probably too strong for most, but they never complain if you ask them to lighten it up a bit. I mean, I don’t know why a booze lover would… but I’m just sayin… I’ve had at least 10 different strong, fruity concoctions. But craft cocktails these ain’t– despite their names that almost… almost… fool you into thinking they might be. Still? I like them. Probably because when I’m there it feels like a pretty cheap«You call it.» While I try many drinks from the menu, when it comes to the flatbread, I don’t even bother sampling; the spicy sausage is the truth.
