My mother-in-law Karen couldn’t figure out the brunch menu. Karen has trouble understanding a lot of things like human decency, and the proper time to drop by unannounced. Sometimes I wish there were rehab facilities for human behavior. Do you always have to comment on my hair, Karen? After being married to your son for 15 years, I think I deserve a little respect.

Creative and flavorful sandwiches. We split the BLT special and the«Whole Bird» and were really impressed. I loved that they have homemade soda too! Staff was friendly and helpful.

Anyone can feed you. At the Kitchen Table you are nourished. It feels different. Don’t let the small simple setting fool you. The cafeteria tray and brown paper wrapped sandwiches are containers of deliciously composed real, fresh food. There’s something for everyone from vegan to Paleo. Not a huge menu but an interesting one with house made surprises like Gougers, 4 fluffy baked puffs that are essentially cheesy cream puff dough baked golden and oh so delicious as an appetizer. The«Whole Bird» sandwich or salad is a trip. The Grilled asparagus sandwich with house made ricotta and garlic jam served grilled on house made bread… just try it. The salads are a fresh mix of greens, well dressed. Honestly, I could go on. But suffice it to say you can’t go wrong eating here. Food carefully prepared by people who care is a treat for your body. Love it and will eat here often when in Omaha.

I had the whole bird and the deviled eggs. Both were delicious. The take pride in hand crafting real food and it shows. The line does get a little long so get there early

Great find. Had the pork meatball and it did not disappoint! Comfy feel and great service. Very reasonable prices.

Stopped in as a party of three. We listened to the recommendations and went with 3 fan favorites — the whole bird, the meatloaf, and the meatball sandwich. They are amazing! The homemade cream soda and ginger ale also was spot on. If we had stopped there this would be a 5 star review. Unfortunately, since our meals were so good we decided to get a vegetarian option to go for my daughter at home. We went with the veggie dog sliders, hold the pickle and mustard. After a too-long wait the hostess let us know they were done and they were just keeping them warm in the back. That apparently meant cook them until they were charred to a crisp. And the«hold the pickle and mustard» didn’t happen, they were coated in it. It was completely inedible and we ended up throwing the entire thing away and having a sad little vegetarian daughter at home. 1 star for this experience. I might give them a 2nd chance, maybe, if I’m down that way but will definitely stay away from carry-out!

Meatloaf Sandwich, that’s all you need to know. But seriously, cute little restaurant in downtown Omaha. Delicious food and neat atmosphere. Quick for lunch. Line goes fast and food comes relatively quickly. Also, the meatloaf sandwich. Get it.

Kitchen Table serves up consistently good, unique, and flavorful food, and provides great service. Additionally, they are vegetarian and vegan friendly. One of my favorites!

Came here for brunch. F***ing delicious. Toast with jam and butter spread, ricotta pancakes, egg sandwich, granola/yogurt, and their own twist on mimosas. In fact, every part of the meal had its own special take on the dish. And they use local ingredients. Great vibe inside and a small patio out front. Friendly customer service. Awesome spot.

Wow, This place is so good! Delicious sandwich, soup, and salad place. I had a house made ginger ale and an amazing meatloaf sandwich. I’m not usually a meatloaf fan, but for some reason I had to try one out… and it was a good choice. Pretty laid back, nice outside seating. Decently affordable. I liked it a lot.

Can a meatloaf sandwich change your life? Yeah, I think it can. I thought I had found the pinnacle of meatloaf sandwiches years ago, but this place changed my mind. It may seem strange, but a meatloaf sandwich is a good test because it can so easily be bad. You can make great meatloaf, but it won’t work in a sandwich. And it’s easy to make bad meatloaf and put it into a sandwich, making a truly bad sandwich. It’s rare to find one of these that’s in the«great» category, but I think they have something here. I don’t know why I never came here before, but I’m so glad that I did. Reading the description of it, the meatloaf sandwich didn’t seem like it would be well executed: celery, carrots, aioli? Not sure about that. But, holy shit, someone knew what they were doing on that. Only fault I would give it is that there was too much cheese, but I know how Midwesterners like their cheese, so it may be my bias. Serving it with popcorn was a nice touch, and I love that they have«housemade»(I didn’t ask if they were actually made in house, but that’s what they’re called) sodas. Price may be a downside. The old, tired«you get what you pay for» adage is actually not always the case for sandwiches. I’ve had truly bad sandwiches that were expensive, and good ones that were very cheap. Most of the sandwiches here are $ 8 – 9. Pricey, maybe, but it’s also quite a large sandwich, and filled me up. It also gets super crowded. The other reviews mention it, but I’m going to emphasize that. You need to come early.

The Kitchen Table is one of my favorite lunch spots in Omaha. When you come in you order at the counter(the menu is written on an enormous chalkboard on the wall), receive your number, & then find your own table. It’s small inside, but in a cozy way. Even when it’s super busy it’s not a huge problem because people filter thru relatively quickly. There is also outdoor seating. You can watch your food get prepared and cooked if you want because they have a mostly open kitchen behind the register and the staff are consistently helpful, cheerful, & otherwise pleasant to engage with. The menu has something for everyone and is easy on the wallet. Vegetarian and vegan options are available, the meals are sufficiently filling, & they serve alcohol!

Great lunch spot! The menu is perfectly put together with fun and hearty ideas combining comfort foods and top ingredients. I had the meatloaf sandwich and loved every bite. This kind of restaurant provides some refreshing and much needed culture to downtown Omaha.

An excellent small storefront restaurant that is a great place to grab your lunch. Did my Unilocal homework and saw/read about the whole bird sandwich which is what I ordered. It comes stuffed with sliced chicken breast seared on the flattop and topped with a fried egg. There’s other stuff in there but I was already sold with a fried egg on top. Comes with a side on seasoned popcorn and a sliver of a pickled onion. Definitely one of the best meals I had in Omaha. I should also mention about the young staff here, very friendly and accommodating while I sat on a bar seat in front of the kitchen. The cook even stopped what he was doing to ask if I was enjoying my meal. Bottomline, great young staff running one of the best lunch menus in downtown Omaha.

Update required!** While I’m still on the fence for the weekly lunch menu, I have been thoroughly enjoying weekend Sunday brunch here. The 1−2−3 brunch is really outstanding in my opinion. It changes up weekly based on local ingredients and what’s in season, but basically for $ 15 you get to choose 3 items and have a «three course» meal. #1 is the grilled bread with vanilla crème butter and homemade jam/preserve. I’ve had it with blackberry and raspberry-both excellent! It’s amazing how simple«toast with butter and jam» can be done in such a gourmet fashion. I love the grilled bread! #2 is usually either a yogurt option, cereal, or pastry, and #3 is the Mac daddy breakfast option, the main course. I’ve enjoyed some really unique #3 items, including a breakfast casserole, grits with radish and pork belly, and a Piedmontese Strata. Fantastic use of local and in-season ingredients and definitely something more exotic than your local diner is going to serve. If you’re looking for«hipster brunch» or «Instagram worthy food» that also tastes fantastic, look no further-you’re here. PS-dog friendly patio!

We went for a Sunday brunch. This is a place you order at the counter and they bring you the food which is fine. The menu choices were unique but nothing too strange in my eyes. They had Bloody Marys but no Mimosas with some other adult coffee choices. I had the Strata which was very good. One of us tried the Fried Egg Sandwich which was also good. The other had the Grits which was good but had too much of an overpowering butter taste. We all tried the pecan cinnamon roll which was interesting; something tasted strange but we couldn’t figure out what it was. Finding a table can be a challenge but it didn’t take too long. I plan to go back and try some other day menu choices.

Stopped by and tried their Sunday brunch menu. The place looks pretty hip with the matching décor as well. I must say that I’m a little disappointed with their 1−2−3 menu. A bit pricey for what you’re getting, but then again you kinda expect that with the location. Their Brunch Burger was just OK. The lamb flavor in the burger was a little strong for my taste. We might have to go back again and try their other menu. Overall, I give it more of a 3.5 stars.

Oh how I wish we had a place like this back where I live! We stopped here for Sunday brunch on a short weekend trip to Omaha and we were pleasantly surprised by the complete dedication to the farm-to-table concept that this place had. They bake their own bread even source the flour locally also no OJ here for breakfast, because oranges don’t grow close enough to Omaha for their standards. I ordered the Fried Egg Sandwich which came with cheddar and a salsa on a rosemary levain. Simple sandwich but the execution was stellar and the salsa was fantastic. My wife had the grits that were not too cheesy like most. It was served with potatoes, ham and ricotta. Again a simple dish but the way it was prepared with the high quality ingredients made it remarkable! I look forward to trying out the lunch menu when we visit Omaha again.

I know the reviews are raving, but I just can’t say the same thing about my visit. I felt the food lacked in tasting, and like the rest of my family — I can’t get on the popcorn trend. They serve you popcorn with your meal instead of chips. It wasn’t even good popcorn. I like flavored popcorn, but it just didn’t hit a high note with me. As far the sandwiches, and varied food options. I do appreciate that they offer vegan. My cousin is vegan, and she enjoyed her vegan sandwich. As far as myself — I ordered their meat loaf sandwich and was less than enthused. I guess the mix of ingredients they were going for were a little too far out of my comfort zone. They added some sort of spices that didn’t mesh well with the concept. My aunt did enjoy their take on a PB& J. Here they make their own peanut butter by blending 3 different types of nuts together than just your typical peanut. I don’t know if it was worth the price paid… but hey… it wasn’t my sandwich. I like the ambiance here. I like the exposed brick and pipe work. I’m into that sort of thing. Doubtful I’d want to return though. There are other places to explore with better offerings than here.
